ThetransmitterconsistsofaPLLfrequencysynthesizerandpoweramplifier.Thefrequencysynthesizerconsistsof avoltagecontrolledoscillator(VCO),acrystaloscillator,dualmodulusprescaler,programmablefrequency dividers,andaphasedetector. AnIPaddressingschemeinMicrelNetallowsforeasilyrecognizablesourceaddressanddestinationaddress formattingthedatapackets.SoftwareCRCsensuredatadelivery.TheMicrelNetcodestackcanrunin8KBytesof memoryonan8bitmicrocontroller.
