1Basic operations
1.1 Unlock the home screen

Once unlocked, the home screen appears, there are five pages to be shown, swipe your finger left and right to switch among the pages. In every page there are screens with 3D effects.(Fig 1.4) 1.3 Main buttons

HomeTap this button to return to the home screen Background programsTap to view the programs running in the background Volume- - Tap this to decrease volume Volume+ -- Tap this to increase volume Menu buttonThis button usually appears on lower left and sometimes on lower right. The exact location depends upon the programs but works to the same effect. Likewise, if the program does not include a menu it will definitely not appear on the screen.
Notification trayOn the upper left of the screen, tap to pop up the application list. Search button: On the upper left of the home screen, tap to bring out Google search box. Input methodthis will appear automatically whenever input is required, tap to show all the installed input method and choose the one you prefer.
3/30 1.3.2 Notification bar From right to left: Battery indicator(display battery charged level, while charging, a lightening symbol will appear), 3G symbol, WIFI symbol(while connecting via WIFI), time indicator and other notifying symbols(hide or unhide depending on the programs you run). Tap the notification area, a hidden menu will pop up (Fig 1.5) Fig 1.5 Tap time digits will bring out the setup shortcut(Fig 1.6):

1.4 Application and widget screen 1.4.1 Enter application screen Tap Application to enter the application list. The application list displays all the applications installed in this MID. Tap any app icon to start the program. Lets say you want to open the files in the local disk, tap ES file browser to enter. To play video clips or view photos, tap Gallery(Fig 1.7). When the number of app icons exceed a single screen , the rest will be displayed on the next screen, swipe your finger leftward to switch to the next screen. Fig 1.7 or swipe your finger to enter the widget screen. Long press 1.4.2 Enter widget screen In application screen, tap on any widget can create shortcut on the desktop, and tap any shortcut to enter the corresponding application(Fig 1.8). 1.5.1 Create app shortcut
In application and widget screen, long press an icon and hold it till the desktop screen appears, and drag to anywhere on the desktop screen and drop it(Fig 1.9). 1.5.2 Create app shortcut
It is easy to create new folders, simply tap and drag the icon to overlap with another icon to form a folder

1.8 Connecting to PC
Using the USB cable to connect this MID to a PC. You can copy files like music, video clips, ebooks, apps etc. Once connected to the PC, the following interface will appear. (Fig 1.18)
Fig 1.18 Tap the lower right button Open USB storage device, you can see two disks, usually the first disk is the local disk, the second is the removable disk, you must insert TF card to open it. When connected to a PC, only the home screen is displayed. Tap USB icon, and tap Developers options to enables USB debugging. Android robot will appear in this case. The Settings is quite similar to Settings in cell phone or is equivalent to the control panel in Windows system. You can customize the settings according to your personal preference. Tap the notification bar on the lower right of the home screen or the settings icon on the application list to enter the Settings screen.(Fig 2.1) 2.1 Wireless & network Fig 2.1 11/30 2.1.1 Wi-Fi 1. Turn WIFI on or off:
Drag the Wi-Fi switch leftward or rightward to switch on or off the WIFI. While WIFI is on, the WIFI hotspots will be shown (Fig 2.2). Fig 2.2 Please note that Wi-Fi hot spot, also named SSID(you can also set it up in the router, it is not recommended to work in Chinese interface), the descriptions under the SSID shows encryption method, the circular- section-alike symbol means good or bad reception. If a padlock symbol also appears, it means the connection is password protected, you need to input correct password to access the network. 2. Connect to Wi-Fi If the searched hot spot is not password protected, it will be automatically connected. If it is password protected, please input the correct password and tap Connect (Fig 2.3). Display advanced options: Tap Display advanced options and more advanced options will show up, users can choose this function or not. For more info please read the relevant guide (Fig 2.4). Fig 2.3 12/30 Fig 2.4 3 Advanced Wi-Fi settings Tap button , the Advanced option will pop up, tap it you can see the following screen. The screen will show MAC address, IP address etc. of the Wi-Fi connection(Fig 2.5) 2.1.2 Data use Fig 2.5 This will show the data plan of the mobile network, like 3G surfing. Open Mobile data and it will be enabled, see below (Fig 2.6):

Font size: adjust font size Change Accelerometer coordinate system Change Accelerometer coordinate system, this function works with some accelerometer-requiring games, when the orientation of the game is not correct, you can tick this option, once ticked, the camera view might be upside down, you can untick to go back to normal. 15/30 2.2.3 Storage (Fig 2.10)
Internal storage: this is allocated by the system for installing apps. INTERNAL STORAGE Fig 2.10 Local disk space, that is, the user allocated space, which is the space shown as Removable Disk in your PC, usually with capacity of several GB SD CARD Unmount the SD card in here USB STORAGE External USB connection here, you can also unmount the USB stick in here.
2.2.4 Battery This indicates battery charged level and status.
2.2.5 Apps (Fig 2.11) This will display all the apps you installed in this tablet. You can uninstall, delete the unwanted data generated by the apps or change the directory (only some of the user-installed apps support this function), you can also move the programs from ROM(native storage for the installed apps ) to the local disk or the other way around.

Tips: You can move apps from ROM to local disk or the other way around, but you cannot move them to TF card.
2.3 Profiles 2.3.1 Accounts & sync When you log on your Google account, the log on status will be shown here. You can also add accounts. The account only works in google-related services. 2.3.2 Location services This will only work when connected to the network and some apps may not support this.
2.3.3 Security (Fig 2.12)
Fig 2.12 Screen lock: the default is unlock, you can also set pattern or password unlock. Owner info: User can customize the info, the info will be shown on the lower left of the locked screen. Unknown source: Without ticking this option, you cannot install apps downloaded from other sources except from Market. 17/30

2.3.5 Backup & reset(Fig 2.14)

20/30 The applications in this MID are APK format which include the pre-installed applications and user-installing applications. 3.1 Run the pre-installed applications Tap to enter the application screen, tap any icon to run the related programs. For instance, tap to open Photo Gallery and video clips in the local disk (Fig 3.1). Fig 3.1 Tap to visit websites or view online video clips. The browser supports HTML by default. User can customize the settings: Tap > on the upper right of the screenChoose SettingsAdvancedUser agent settings. The default setting is iPad, which means HTML5. Choose desktop if you prefer Flash. But the prerequisite is that the Flash player is installed. Please note that some special programs cannot be closed by using this method, such as the music player is running in the background (Fig 3.10). 24/30 Fig 3.10 3.3 How to get and install apps There are two methods to get the apps: download from internet or local PC, and then install it. Whichever method you prefer, please make sure that in SetupSecurityUnknown source is ticked, or else you cannot install apps except from Play store. Method 1: Download from internet Connect to Wi-Fi network and enter Play store, Gfan market, Android Market to look for the apps you need, see fig 3.11, Angry Birds is being downloaded from Android Market. fig 3.11 Once download is completed, the Install button will appear, the notification bar will also show download completed (Fig 3.12) 25/30 Fig 3.12 Method 2: Copy the existing apps from PC Search the APK file in your PC, then connect this MID to PC through USB cable. Open the removable disk in the PC, copy the required APK files the removable disk and safely disconnect them. Open File Browser in this MID, and you can view all folders, find the copied APK format file.(Fig 3.13) Fig 3.13 Tap the apk file that you want to install to bring out the installing interface .After installation is completed, return to Applications to view the newly installed app icon (Fig 3.14). 26/30 Fig 3.14 3.4 Uninstall apps If you want to uninstall the apps which are not frequently used, please follow the steps In the application menu, long press the icon of the application and move the icon into the trash bin, a pop up message Uninstall the app. Then tap OK.
