The battery does not charge properly or sometimes the phone turns itself off. The battery terminals may be dirty. Wipe both gold-colored contacts with a clean, soft cloth and try charging the battery again. FCCHearing-AidCompatibility(HAC)RegulationsforWirelessDevicesOnJuly10,2003,theU.S.FederalCommunicationsCommission(FCC)ReportandOrderinWTDocket01-309modifiedtheexceptionofwirelessphonesundertheHearingAidCompatibilityActof1988(HACAct)torequiredigitalwirelessphonesbecompatiblewithhearing-aids.TheintentoftheHACActistoensurereasonableaccesstotelecommunicationsservicesforpersonswithhearingdisabilities.Whilesomewirelessphonesareusednearsomehearingdevices(hearingaidsandcochlearimplants),usersmaydetectabuzzing,humming,orwhiningnoise.Somehearingdevicesaremoreimmunethanotherstothisinterferencenoise,andphonesalsovaryintheamountofinterferencetheygenerate.Thewirelesstelephoneindustryhasdevelopedaratingsystemforwirelessphones,toassisthearingdeviceusersfindphonesthatmaybecompatiblewiththeirhearingdevices.Notallphoneshavebeenrated.Phonesthatareratedhavetheratingontheirboxoralabellocatedonthebox.Theratingsarenotguarantees.Resultswillvarydependingontheusershearingdeviceandhearingloss.Ifyourhearingdevicehappenstobevulnerabletointerference,youmaynotbeabletousearatedphonesuccessfully.Tryingoutthephonewithyourhearingdeviceisthebestwaytoevaluateitforyourpersonalneeds.M-Ratings:PhonesratedM3orM4meetFCCrequirementsandarelikelytogeneratelessinterferencetohearingdevicesthanphonesthatarenotrated.M4isthebetter/higherofthetworatings.The9788isratedM3.T-Ratings:PhonesratedT3orT4meetFCCrequirementsandarelikelytobemoreusablewithahearingaidstelecoilthanphonesthatarenotrated.T4isthebetter/higherofthetworatings.The"CincinnatiBell"9788isratedT3.ThehandsethasnotbeenratedforhearingaidcompatibilitywithrespecttotheWi-Ficapability.PleasepowerofftheBluetoothfunctionwhileusinghearingaiddeviceswithyour9788Hearingdevicesmayalsoberated.Yourhearingdevicemanufacturerorhearinghealthprofessionalmayhelpyoufindthisrating.Higherratingsmeanthatthehearingdeviceisrelativelyimmunetointerferencenoise.Thehearingaidandwirelessphoneratingvaluesarethen addedtogether.Asumof5isconsideredacceptablefornormaluse.Asumof6isconsideredforbetteruse.Asumof8isconsideredforbestuse.Intheaboveexample,ifahearingaidmeetstheM2levelratingandthewirelessphonemeetstheM3levelrating,thesumofthetwovaluesequalM5.Thisshouldprovidethehearingaiduserwithnormalusagewhileusingtheirhearingaidwiththeparticularwirelessphone.Normalusageinthiscontextisdefinedasasignalqualitythatisacceptablefornormaloperation.ThismethodologyappliesequallyforTratings.TheMmarkisintendedtobesynonymouswiththeUmark.TheTmarkisintendedtobesynonymouswiththeUTmark.TheMandTmarksarerecommendedbytheAllianceforTelecommunicationsIndustriesSolutions(ATIS).TheUandUTmarksarereferencedinSection20.19oftheFCCRules.TheHACratingandmeasurementprocedurearedescribedintheAmericanNationalStandardsInstitute(ANSI)C63.19standard.ForinformationabouthearingaidsanddigitalwirelessphonesFCCHearingAidCompatibilityandVolumeControl:http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/dro/hearing.htmlGallaudetUniversity,RERC:https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/GenericSearch.cfm
