The 4-inch high-denition display reliably visualizes the energy data of each Renogy device through Bluetooth or RS485 connection, enabling a better control of your power systems only at a simple glance. With a built-in Wi-Fi module, Renogy ONE can analyze errors and store data in the cloud. Thus, you can check on your system and receive troubleshooting tips wherever you are. Renogy ONE is integrated with 3 relays to help you build a smart home. All connector contacts shall be clean, dry, and free of dirt and corrosion. WARNING z Do not use Renogy ONE if it appears to be damaged. 15 Preparation Required Tools Inspection Mounting Location Mounting Location 1. Tear o the mounting template in the Quick Guide of Renogy ONE. You can also draw a picture according to the size marked in the mounting template. 2. Tape the mounting template to the selected mounting location, and measure whether the 12V power cable is long enough to connect Renogy ONE to your DC power supply. If the auxiliary 12V power cable is not long enough for connecting Renogy ONE to your DC power supply, you can re-select a mounting position or use an extension cable (
22 AWG). If you do not need to extend the 12V power cable, please go to step 5. z Install Renogy ONE on a vertical surface. z Mounting Renogy ONE requires installation holes, so please make sure that you can drill holes on the mounting position. z To ensure quality wireless communication for Renogy ONE, keep it away from metal objects at a minimum distance of 200 mm or 7.88 inch. WARNING z Install Renogy ONE on a vertical surface indoors protected from direct sunlight, high temperature, and water. Make sure there is good ventilation. z Do not install Renogy ONE in a humid environment, or spill water or other liquids on it. 12V Power Supply NOTE 16 Preparation Required Tools Inspection Mounting Location NOTE z When extending the 12V power cable, conrm the polarity of the cable before connecting it to the auxiliary one. A reverse polarity contact will result in abnormal operations. The length of the extension cable should not exceed 10 meters (32.8 feet). 5. Use the skill saw to cut the installation hole according to the gray mark on the mounting template. 3. If you need to extend the auxiliary 12V power cable, cut it at any part of the auxiliary 12V power cable and strip o some of the insulation. 4. Strip part of the insulation o the extension cable and connect it to the cut-
o point of the auxiliary 12V power supply cable and wrap the cut-o areas with the insulation tape. 17 Preparation Required Tools Inspection Mounting Location 6. Tear o the mounting template. 7. Remove the base cover of Renogy ONE. 8. Put the protruding part of the base cover into the installation hole (in a direction and position as shown in Figure 1.1.7), and use a Phillips screwdriver to fasten the base cover with four M4 mounting screws through the mounting hole. Connect the ring terminals of the 12V power cable to the positive and negative terminals of the DC power supply device, and reserve the connector end of the power cable in the installation hole. A reverse polarity contact will result in abnormal operations. Renogy ONE can communicate with Renogy energy devices in several ways:
Communication Cables 1. Bluetooth wireless communication;
2. Wired communication based on RS485 protocol;
3. Wired communication based on RV-C protocol. You can choose an appropriate communication method according to the actual situation. For Bluetooth wireless communication, there is no need to pre-embed the communication cable. For RS485 or RV-C communication, you need to pre-embed the communication cable in the installation hole. 19 Embedding 12V Power Cable Communication Cables External Load RS485 Communication Recommended Accessories Communication Cable (RJ45 Ethernet Cable) Renogy Communication Hub
(For Multiple Devices) HUB NOTE INFO z Please use CAT5 and higher category cables. z Ensure that the device supports RS485 communication. z Please select the appropriate communication cable (sold separately) according to the distance between devices. The length of the communication cable should be less than 30 meters (98.4 feet). z Please read the user manual carefully before using Renogy Communication Hub. z When Renogy BT-2 Bluetooth Module is connected to the main communication port of Renogy Communication Hub, the devices connected to Renogy Communication Hub will have Bluetooth capability. You can add devices to Renogy ONE via Bluetooth. For details, please refer to the Renogy Communication Hub User Manual. 1. Measure whether the communication cable can be connected to Renogy ONE and other devices. 20 Embedding 12V Power Cable Communication Cables External Load 2. Pre-embed the RJ45 connector of the communication cable into the installation hole. 3. If there is only one device, connect the other end of the communication cable to the communication port of the specic device in use. 4. If there are multiple devices, connect the devices to Renogy Communication Hub.
UP port HUB NOTE z Ensure that Renogy Communication Hub is connected to the power supply. z The length of the communication cable connecting the device to Renogy Communication Hub should be less than 30 meters (98.4feet). z If the power cable of Renogy Communication Hub is not long enough, it can be extended according to the 12V power cable extension method in Prepare. The length of the extension cable should not exceed 10 meters (32.8 feet). 21 Embedding 12V Power Cable Communication Cables External Load 5. Connect the other end of the communication cable to the main communication port of Renogy Communication Hub. HUB RV-C Communication Renogy ONE M1 can communicate with other REGO devices and monitoring devices, enabling safe operation, smart control, remote monitoring, and programmable settings. The RV-C communication wiring varies depending on the connection network topology. Both backbone and daisy chain topologies are supported. Backbone Topology Some RV manufacturers have a pre-installed RV-C bus running through the RV. Please check the RV user manual and make sure that the first and last Drop Tap on the RV-C bus has a built-in 120 termination resistor. In this way, Renogy ONE and other REGO devices can be connected to the RV-C bus for communication with the Backbone topology. If you need to use the backbone topology for communication connections, please contact us through renogy.com/contact-us/. z If a RV-C bus is pre-installed in the RV, check the network wiring diagram provided by the RV manufacturer and follow the backbone topology for the RV-C communication connections. When it is determined that a backbone topology can be used for communication connections, the appropriate communication cable must be selected for the connection based on the actual usage. 22 Embedding 12V Power Cable Communication Cables External Load Recommended Accessories RJ45 Plug to Bare Wires Drop Cable Drop Plugs Split Joint Pliers NOTE Drop Tap z The lengths of the Drop Cables shall not exceed 6 meters (19.6 feet), and the total length shall not exceed 30 meters (98.4 feet). z Different drop sockets are used on the RV-C bus by different RV manufacturers. Please select the Drop Plugs that match the drop sockets for the inter-device communication connections. If unsure about the Drop Plug selection, please check with the RV manufacturer. This user manual takes the Mini-Clamp II plug (4-pin) as an example. z Different Drop Plugs follow different pinouts. Please crimp the Drop Plugs on the Drop Cables following the correct pinout. If unsure about the Drop Plug pinout, please check with the RV manufacturer. This user manual takes the pinout of the Mini-Clamp II plug (4-Pin) as an example. 1. Measure whether the communication cable can be connected to Renogy ONE and the drop tap on the RV-C bus. 2. The white green CAN_H wire goes to pin 2 and the white orange CAN_L wire goes to pin 3. Leave pin 1 and pin 4 empty. 4. Squeeze the crimp areas of the Drop Plugs with the Split Joint Pliers. 5. Locate the drop tap (not included) on the RV-C bus that is the closest to the Renogy ONE installation location. The drop taps are usually located above the entry door, in the bathroom, or under the bed in the RV. 6. Connect either of the CAN Communication Ports of the Renogy ONE and other REGO devices to the drop sockets on the drop tap with the Drop Cables. Drop Tap 24 Embedding 12V Power Cable Communication Cables External Load z Different drop taps are used on the RV-C bus by different RV manufacturers. This user manual takes the 4-socket drop tap as an example. NOTE CAUTION z If unable to locate the drop taps, please contact the RV manufacturer for help. Daisy Chain Topology If an RV-C bus is not pre-installed in the RV, please follow the steps below. Pin) on the rst or last REGO device in the communication network. 4. Insert the LP16 Plug (7-Pin) to RJ45 Communication Adapter Cables into the communication ports of other REGO devices. 26 Embedding 12V Power Cable Communication Cables External Load External Load Renogy ONE comes with 3 relays which can be connected to 3 DC loads (30V DC, 5A). You can power on/off the loads via Panel Switches on Renogy ONE. For users who do not need external loads, no adapter cable pre-embedding is required. A reverse polarity contact will result in abnormal operations. z Please confirm the polarity of the load before connection. A reverse polarity contact may cause abnormal situation. 2. Connect the bare wire cable to the positive pole of the load, and reserve the other end in the installation hole. 3. Connect the other ring terminal of the adapter cable to the positive terminal of the DC power supply device, and reserve the other end in the installation hole. DC load
