AwEasy Short Instruction Manual Put the samples into the disposable sample cup and put the lid on it. The probe and the sample must stay in the same room for acclimation (normally room temperature) Avoiding warming up the probe and sample through body heat. Do not hold too long in your hands. AwEasy Kurzbedienungsanleitung GENERAL DESCRIPTION 1 The AwEasy is a standalone measurement head for water activity and temperature. It can be operated as standalone device together with the free AwEasy App for Android and iOS. SAMPLE CUP 7 Put the sample into the sample cup. To avoid cross-contamination do not fill more then up to the fill line. ALLGEMEINE BESCHREIBUNG 1 AwEasy ist ein Standalone-Messkopf zur Messung von Wasseraktivitt und Temperatur. MEASUREMENT ARRANGEMENT 2 Before charging the AwEasy put the correct socket adapter on the power adapter (PS1006). Then connect the USB-A to USB-C cable with the USB-A plug to the power adapter and with the USB-C plug to the wireless charging plate (AwEasy-Charger). To disconnect the device from the power supply, disconnect the power adapter from the socket. NOTE: The power adapter must always be easily accessible. WARNING: The power supply can only be used up to an ambient temperature of 45C. See also the temperature limits for the battery and charging in the TECHNICAL DATA. STARTING THE APP 3 Please go to the App Store (iOS) or the Play Store (Android) and download the AwEasy App. After the in-
stallation of the AwEasy App you can then start the application. NOTE: Please make sure before using the device, that its fully charged. For turning on or off the AwEasy press and hold the touch button on the top
(below the display) for at least 10 seconds. To add the AwEasy measurement head to your device list, go into Measurements and click on the top right the + to add a new AwEasy device. The App will automatically search for the AwEasy measurement head As soon as the measurement head is connected it will be shown in the Probes overview with a green arrow on the left side. If there is no active connection with the measurement head, it will be shown as discon-
nected (with no green arrow). STARTING THE MEASUREMENT 4 To start a measurement, click on the specific connected measurement head and click on the bottom of the measurement overview the Add new measurement button. After that the Measurement Settings menu will open. To start a new measurement, it needs to be filled out at least the Measurement Name and the Batch Number. Content and Notes are optional for the measure-
ment. In the end the measurement method has to be chosen. Rotronic recommends for the AWQ measure-
ment a dwell time of at least 4 minutes and a temperature stability of 0.1C/min. For the standard AWE measurement Rotronic recommends an AW stability of 0.0001 aw/min and a temperature stability of 0.01C: Optional its also possible to set an AW Setpoint. After setting the Measurement Settings it is then possible to start the measurement by clicking the Start button. As soon as the measurement starts a moving green line will appear and the Start button will change to Stop (to stop the current measurement). NOTE: Do not use the AwEasy direct after charging. The charging generates heat in the battery, which can affect the measurement. Please wait at least 1 2 hours. STANDALONE MODE 5 To use the standalone mode, it must be set up first over the AwEasy App. Go from the Main Menu into Settings. In the Settings menu the File Name and the Batch Number needs to be defined. In there you can select different types like Date, Serial Number etc. for the generated Batch Number or File Name. Most important here is that in the Batch Number the Increment Number is selected as type. Next go into Measurement and select the desired AwEasy in the probes overview. Set up the measurement as described in STARTING MEASUREMENT above and click on Save. After that, the AwEasy measurement head can be used without a Smartphone. The measurement data from the AwEasy will be automatically loaded to Smartphone as soon as it is reconnected. To add a new measurement and to start or stop a measurement just double tap the touch button. The following icons will appear on the AwEasy display:
Add new measurement Start measurement Stop measurement GENERAL GUIDELINES 6 To make accurate and reproducible measurement, follow the following general guidelines to measure water activity:
Measure water activity only in rooms with constant temperature; Ideal are rooms with small daily and yearly temperature variations. Avoid heating of the measuring equipment by sun radiation or radiators, draught, body radiation etc. Put the probe immediately on the sample cup after having filled in the sample to avoid humidity exchange with the ambient. Rotronic empfiehlt fr die AWQ-Messung eine Wartezeit von mindestens 4Minuten und eine Temperaturstabilitt von 0,1C/min. Fr die standardmssige AWE-Messung empfiehlt Rotronic eine Aw-Stabilitt von 0,0001aw/min und eine Temperaturstabilitt von 0,01C. Optional besteht auch die Mglichkeit, einen Aw-Sollwert festzu-
legen. Nachdem die Messeinstellungen festgelegt sind, kann nun mit der Messung begonnen werden, in-
dem auf die Schaltflche Start geklickt wird. Sobald die Messung startet, erscheint eine sich bewegende grne Linie und die Schaltflche Start ndert sich in Stop (um die aktuelle Messung anzuhalten). HINWEIS: Verwenden Sie den AwEasy nicht unmittelbar nach dem Laden. Beim Laden wird Wrme in der Batterie erzeugt, die die Messung beeinflussen kann. Bitte warten Sie mindestens 1 2 Stunden. STANDALONE-BETRIEB 5 Um den Standalone-Betrieb nutzen zu knnen, mssen Sie diesen zunchst in der AwEasy-App konfigurieren. Gehen Sie im Hauptmen auf Settings (Einstellungen). Im Einstellungsmen mssen File Name (Datein-
ame) und Batch Number (Chargennummer) definiert werden. Fr die generierte Chargennummer oder den Dateinamen knnen Sie verschiedene Typen, wie Date (Datum), Serial Number (Seriennummer) etc., whlen. Am wichtigsten ist hier, dass fr die Chargennummer der Typ Increment Number (Inkrementzahl) gewhlt wird. Gehen Sie anschliessend in Measurement (Messungen) und whlen Sie den gewnschten AwEasy in der Fhlerbersicht. Konfigurieren Sie die Messung wie oben unter STARTEN DER MESSUNG beschrieben und klicken Sie auf Save (Speichern). Anschliessend kann der AwEasy-Messkopf ohne ein Smartphone verwendet werden. Die Messdaten des AwEasy werden automatisch auf das Smartphone geladen, sobald es wieder verbunden ist. Um eine neue Messung hinzuzufgen und eine Messung zu starten oder anzuhalten, einfach zweimal auf die Touchtaste drcken. Die folgenden Bild-Symbole erscheinen auf dem AwEasy-Display:

Messen Sie die Wasseraktivitt nur in Rumen mit konstanter Temperatur; ideal sind Rume, in denen die Temperatur nur geringe Tages- und Jahresschwankungen aufweist. Vermeiden Sie die Erwrmung der Messgerte durch Sonneneinstrahlung oder Heizkrper, Luftstrmung, Krperwrme usw. Platzieren Sie den Fhler sofort nach dem Einfllen der Probe auf der Probenschale, damit kein Feuch-

Le menu Measurement Settings (Paramtres de mesure) souvre alors. Pour lancer une nouvelle mesure, vous devez au moins remplir les champs Measurement Name (nom de la mesure) et Batch Number
(numro de traitement). Le champ Content (Contenu) et Notes (Notes) sont facultatifs pour la mesure. Pour finir, Il faut slectionner la mthode de mesure. Pour la mesure AWQ, Rotronic recommande un temps dattente dau moins 4minutes et une stabilit de temprature de 0,1C/min. Rotronic recommande pour la mesure AWE standard une stabilit de 0,0001aw/min pour Aw et de 0,01C pour la tempra-
ture. Il est galement possible, en option, de dfinir une valeur de consigne Aw. Aprs avoir dfini les paramtres de mesure, il est alors possible de dbuter la mesure en cliquant sur le bouton Start. Ds que la mesure dmarre, une ligne verte mobile apparat et le bouton Start se change en Stop (pour arrter la mesure en cours). REMARQUE: nutilisez pas AwEasy immdiatement aprs la charge. La chaleur gnre dans la batterie par la charge peut affecter la mesure. Veuillez attendre au moins 1 2 heures. FONCTIONNEMENT AUTONOME 5 Pour pouvoir utiliser le mode autonome, vous devez dabord le configurer dans l'application AwEasy. Ren-
dez vous dans le menu principal et slectionnez Settings (Paramtres). Dans le menu de configuration, vous devez dfinir le nom de fichier (File Name) et le numro de lot (Batch Number). Vous pouvez choisir diffrents types pour le numro de lot gnr ou le nom de fichier, comme Date (date), Serial Number (numro de srie), etc. Le plus important ici est de slectionner le type Increment Number

Les donnes de mesure de AwEasy sont automatiquement charges sur le smartphone ds quil est reconnect. Si prega di attendere almeno 1 2 ore. MODALIT OPERATIVA INDIPENDENTE 5 Per avvalersi della modalit operativa indipendente, per prima cosa questa va impostata attraverso l'app AwEasy. Dal Menu Principale accedete a Settings (impostazioni). Nel menu delle Impostazioni occorre definire il File Name (denominazione del file) e il Batch Number (numero partita). Una volta l, potrete selezionare varie tipologie, per esempio Date (data), Serial Number (numero di serie) ecc. per identificare il file generato Batch Number o File Name. In questo caso la cosa pi importante che nel Batch Number sia selezionata la tipologia Increment Number (numero incrementale). Come passo successivo accedete a Measurement e selezionate la panoramica sonde desiderata in AwEasy. Impostate la misurazione come descritto nel paragrafo soprastante AVVIO DELLA MISURAZIONE e cliccate su Save (salva). Dopodich sar possibile utilizzare la testa di misurazione AwEasy senza uno smartphone. I dati di misu-
ra provenienti da AwEasy saranno automaticamente caricati nello smartphone non appena quest'ultimo verr riconnesso. Per aggiungere una nuova misurazione e per avviare o arrestare una misurazione basta toccare due volte il tasto touch. Sul display di AwEasy compariranno le icone seguenti:

Misurate l'attivit dell'acqua solo in ambienti a temperatura costante; l'ideale sono gli ambienti sottopo-
sti a esigue variazioni di temperatura giornaliere e annuali. Evitate che lo strumento di misura si riscaldi per l'esposizione all'irraggiamento solare oppure a radiatori, correnti d'aria, calore del corpo ecc. Mettete la sonda sul portacampioni immediatamente dopo averlo riempito con il campione, onde evitare lo scambio di umidit con l'ambiente. Il fatto che il tempo di misurazione possa variare dipende dalla sonda. Best Care and Attention Any product-specific notes, cautions and warnings must be strictly observed. Any disregard will result in the loss of warranty. 4. Customer Support for Product Specifications Some products within the product range may contain substances which are subject to restrictions in certain jurisdictions in order to serve specific technical requirements. Necessary information is available on request. In this case the field sales engineer or the internal sales person in charge should be contacted who will be happy to support in this matter. 5. Product R&D Due to constant product improvement product specifications may change from time to time. As a standard reporting procedure of the Product Change Notification (PCN) according to the JEDEC-Standard inform about minor and major changes. In case of further queries regarding the PCN, the field sales engineer or the internal sales person in charge should be contacted. The basic responsibility of the customer as per Section 1 and 2 remains unaffected. This electronic component has been designed and developed for usage in general electronic equipment only. This product is not authorized for use in equipment where a higher safety standard and reliability standard is especially required or where a failure of the product is reasonably expected to cause severe personal injury or death, unless the parties have executed an agreement specifically governing such use.
