tures and capabilities. Congratulations on the purchase of your new Home Monitoring Gateway. The Home Monitor-
ing Gateway is a consumer electronic device, which is used for home monitoring and security. Package Contents The following items should be included:
The Home Monitoring Gateway Unit Power Adapter A Stand If any of the above items are damaged or missing, please contact your dealer immediately. Front Panel LEDs Zigbee module Two USB 2.0 ports Sync button WPS button Reset button Power In connector Two Internal antennae 802.11bgn Wireless Functions 1 LEDs Front-mounted LEDs The Home Monitoring Gateway has 8 LEDs. Reset WPS button Sync Button POWER
(Green) WAN (Green) This button has two (2) functions:
Reboot. When pressed and released, the 11N Home Monitoring Gateway will reboot (restart). Clear All Data. This button can also be used to clear ALL data and restore ALL settings to the factory default values. To Clear All Data and restore the factory default values:
1. Power On. 2. Keep holding the Reset Button down for 8 seconds. Release the Reset Button. The 11N Home Monitoring Gateway is now using the factory default values. Push the WPS button on the device and on your other wireless device to perform WPS function that easily creates an encryption-secured wireless connection automatically. Push this button to synchronize for portal server or Zigbee clients. On - Power On Off - Power Off Flashing - Reboot or Firmware upgrade. On - Connection to the Gateway attached to the WAN (Internet) port is established. Off - No connection to the Gateway. Flashing - Data is being transmitted or received via the connection. WiFi & WPS WiFi On (Green) - Wireless connection available Off (Green) - No Wireless connection available. Flashing (Green) - Data is being transmitted or received via the Wireless connection. 2 Service LAN (Green) Zigbee USB (1~2) WPS On (Amber) - Problem occurred while trying to enable the WPS function. On (Green) - WPS function is enabled. Flashing - Data is being transmitted or received via the connection. On (Green)- Control Point has made a successful activation to the Portal Server. Off - No active connection to the Portal Server. Flashing - Attempting to establish a connection to the Portal Server. On (Green)- LAN connection established. Off - No active connection on the corresponding LAN port. Flashing - Data is being transmitted or received via the correspond-
ing LAN (hub) port. On - Zigbee function enabled. Off - Zigbee function disabled. Flashing - Data is being transmitted or received via the connection. On (Green)- USB connection established. Off - No active connection on the corresponding USB port. Flashing - Data is being transmitted or received via the correspond-
ing USB port. 3 Rear Panel WAN port Connect the DSL or Cable Modem here. If your modem came with a cable, use the supplied cable. Otherwise, use a standard LAN cable.
(10/100BaseT) LAN (1~4) Port Use standard LAN cables (RJ45 connectors) to connect your PCs to USB (1~2) Port RS232/RS422 terminal Power Port these ports. The two connectors are USB hosts with support for mass storage devices. The terminal block includes transmit (tx)/receive (rx) connections and a GND port. Connect the supplied power adapter here. 4 Chapter 2 Initial Installation 2 This Chapter covers the software installation of the Home Monitoring Gate-
way. Requirements Network cables. Use standard 10/100BaseT network (UTP) cables with RJ45 connectors. Procedure 1. Choose an Installation Site Select a suitable place to install the Home Monitoring Gateway. 2. Connect LAN Cables Use standard LAN cables to connect devices to the Ethernet ports on the Home Monitor-
ing Gateway. 4. Power Up Connect the supplied power adapter to the Home Monitoring Gateway. Use only the power adapter provided. Using a different one may cause hardware damage. 5. Check the LEDs The POWER LED should be ON. The LAN LED should be ON (provided the PC is also ON.) 5 Chapter 3 Board Description 3 This Chapter provides board description for the Home Monitoring Gateway. Then follow the steps illustrated below:
Pin definition 1. Connect cable to console port 7 2. Execute minicom on Linux host machine 3. Press Ctrl+A then Z to enter minicom configuration 4. Test Configuration EUT Spectrum Analyzer TEST PROCEDURE Conducted RF measurements of the transmitter output were made to confirm that the EUT antenna port conducted emissions meet the specified limit and to identify any spurious signals that require further investigation or measurements on the radiated emissions site. TEST METHODOLOGY The tests documented in this report were performed in accordance with ANSI C63.4 and FCC CFR 47 Part 15.207, 15.209 and 15.247. 3.1 EUT CONFIGURATION The EUT configuration for testing is installed on RF field strength measurement to meet the Commissions requirement and operating in a manner that intends to maximize its emission characteristics in a continuous normal application. 3.2 EUT EXERCISE The EUT was operated in the engineering mode to fix the TX frequency that was for the purpose of the measurements. According to its specifications, the EUT must comply with the requirements of the Section 15.207, 15.209 and 15.247 under the FCC Rules Part 15 Subpart C. 3.3 GENERAL TEST PROCEDURES Conducted Emissions The EUT is placed on the turntable, which is 0.8 m above ground plane. According to the requirements in Section 13.1.4.1 of ANSI C63.4 Conducted emissions from the EUT measured in the frequency range between 0.15 MHz and 30MHz using CISPR Quasi-peak and average detector modes. Radiated Emissions The EUT is placed on a turn table, which is 0.8 m above ground plane. The turntable shall rotate 360 degrees to determine the position of maximum emission level. EUT is set 3m away from the receiving antenna, which varied from 1m to 4m to find out the highest emission. And also, each emission was to be maximized by changing the polarization of receiving antenna both horizontal and vertical. SYS1381-1212-W2) for sale. After the preliminary test, the power adapter MU12-G120100-A1 was found to emit the worst emissions and therefore had been tested under operating condition. Software used to control the EUT for staying in continuous transmitting mode was programmed. In addition, radiated emissions which fall in the restricted bands, as defined in 15.205(a), must also comply with the radiated emission limits specified in 15.209(a) (see Section 15.205(c)). Test Configuration EUT Spectrum Analyzer TEST PROCEDURE Conducted RF measurements of the transmitter output were made to confirm that the EUT antenna port conducted emissions meet the specified limit and to identify any spurious signals that require further investigation or measurements on the radiated emissions site. The transmitter output is connected to the spectrum analyzer. The resolution bandwidth is set to 100 kHz. The video bandwidth is set to 100 kHz. Measurements are made over the 30MHz to 26GHz range with the transmitter set to the lowest, middle, and highest channels.
