Frequently Asked Questions 1Connection i ssues Why al ways faile d the VR cont rol connection test s?
Check t he test res ults and check the p ower, rout er whet her is prop erl y inst alle d follo win g the inst ructions, and energiz e. If still faile d the test s after sev eral try, re-inst all the port able power bank, rout er and the reb oot the comp uter if nec essary . It will be aut omatically activ ated aft er connection and launchi ng of VR. How to connect the rout er? And connectin g PC to Ethernet ?
Use the associ ated Ethernet cable to connect to the blue p ort of rout er and the PC. If Ethernet cable is used on PC to access t o the Ethernet , then connect the exi stin g Ethernet cable to the yello w port . If PC access t he Ethernet throug h wirel ess, please ma ke sure normal operation of exi stin g wirel ess ( or normal acc ess of wirel ess), then connect to the rout er throug h Ethernet cable which is to comple te connection to the rout er without im pair ing on existin g wirel ess access. Why rout er is incl uded in the ad aptor packag e, ma y I use m y own rout er?
TPCA ST Wirel ess Adaptor for VIVE is glo bally the first versi on at the present , and the rout er i s part of the ada pto r. We will design built -in rout er i n future prod uct s. Currently , this rout er is customi zed as w ell as optim ized and exclusi vely to serv e the TPCA ST wirel ess ada ptor for VIVE. For the concern of interruption may be imposed on t he exi stin g rout er, we not suggest usin g the existin g rout er to connect to the TPCA ST Wirel ess Adaptor for VIVE. 2Abnormal problems duri ng operatio n Why freq uently cont roller vibr atin g or aut omatic rel ocation i s happeni ng duri ng pla ying?
Vibr atin g of manual cont roller is usually caused by the complicat ed ambient network condition, or caused by wirel ess channel jam which impair the wirel ess signal transmi ssi on. Firstly , chec k the location of rout er, we suggest placi ng on 18
() 2017-05-24-US.indd 21 2017/5/24 10:51 an op en table or g round , and avoid locatin g in the corner, back of comp uter host as much as possibl e in ord er t o keep out any obvious obstacle blo cking the rout er and the adapto r. Check i s the manual cont roller vibr atin g is mitiga ted. If not mitiga ted yet, we suggest you sel ectin g the option of switchi ng channel from t he dropdo wn on t he righ t bottom corner of connection assi stant , ma y try sev eral channel s. If the problem is still not sol ved, please t ry i n a different location. Everyt hing appears normal on t he PC from t he connection assi stant tests to launchi ng of Steam VR , how ever, why is there no cont ent pla ying in the HMD view?
Ple ase chec k the indicat ors of recei ver and tr ansmitte r, if the indica tors are off, then check t he connection of adaptor for VIVE and po wer supply . Unplu g and re-plu g power, wait for at least 10 second s and the chec k the ind icators ag ain. If both ind icators are in fast blinki ng mod e, manually shut off the st eam VR, reb oot the Steam VR. Try to reb oot the comp uter if the p roblem is still not sol ved. If aft er 10 s econd s, the signal indicat or is still in sl ow blinki ng mod e, as t he first priori ty, please check i s there an y ob stac le blocki ng the recei ver and transmitters, or rep air the recei ver end and transmitte r, ref er to section of operation inst ructions for details . If the indictor light is normally on, please check the receiver of HMD and the HMD short HDMI cable is loose fall off. If problem still not solved, please contact the customer service. After wireless adaptor connection is successful, start Steam VR but it displays unready. Why does all device status icon in Steam VR display as gray?

A gray sc reen vi ew is usually caused by disconnection of VR wirel ess cont rol , please veri fy the battery charg e, rout er connection & power supply . Check the connection as sistant for any warni ng in formation. If disconnection occurred , please ret ry follo win g the i nst ructions . Syst em l oadin g error or unable to load occurred in wirel ess connection assi stant , how to handle ?
It may be caused by not restar tin g PC accordin g to prompt after uni nstalle d wirel ess ad aptor connection assis tant . Pleas e uni nst all the current client , rest art PC, then rei nst all c lient . The issue can be sol ved. The connection as sistant is used and successf ully launc hed the steam VR , what should I do if sudden disconnection occ urred in the middle of gami ng?
Check the connection assistant against a ny warni ng information. Reconnect as inst ruct ed. Waitin g duri ng testin g proced ure and a prompt box sa ying waitin g to restore will pop out aft er cert ain peri od, click to confirm. Wait till the test s comple ted or click on the option of ret urni ng to home page and start testin g from t he first ste p. If it still not operatin g after comple tion of st ep three, you may exit the connection assi stant and unplu g the p ortable power, reb oot the syst em. Aft er suc cessf ul connection of adapto r, why does c olor disord er and distortion i n imagin g occur?
Color disord er, blurri ng and dis tortion are all cause by ab normal video trans missi on, please veri fy all cable /wires used for connection of VIVE and the adaptor for VIVE are original prod ucts of HTC and TPCA ST. Veri fy all in terfaces against any unst able or loos e connection, t ry to unplu g and plu g all in terf aces for next try. Please cont act our cust omer servi ce if the problem i s still not 20
