The MALIBLU 5 Button Wireless Bluetooth Optical Mobile Mouse is designed to work with Bluetooth enabled Macintosh and PC computers. Bluetooth is generally enabled through either built-in Bluetooth hardware, a Bluetooth USB adapter, or other type of Bluetooth adapter. Windows XP/Vista with Bluetooth enabling software that includes support for mice is required. Mac OS X (10.2.8 or later) running Bluetooth software version 1.5 or later is required. CENTER SCROLL FUNCTION 1. 2. 3. Move the scroll wheel (5) up to scroll up, and down to scroll down. Press scroll wheel down until it clicks and scroll icon appears on the application screen. (6) This will temporarily place the mouse cursor into scroll mode. Move the mouse to scroll up, down, left or right depending on the application function. Press scroll wheel down again to exit scroll mode. 5 6 HARDWARE INSTALLATION Battery Installation:
1. 2. 3. Remove the battery compartment cover. (1) Install batteries with the positive (+) & negative
(-) in the correct direction indicated by the battery compartment label. (2) Replace battery compartment cover. Turn on mouse. The red LED on the bottom of the mouse (3) will indicate power to the mouse.
(CAUTION: Do not point red Optical LED into your eyes or look directly into the optical emitter. Keep away from young children.) Note: Turn mouse on first. BATTERY INDICATOR Note: To conserve battery power, turn mouse off. When battery voltage level goes under the preset level, battery indicator LED on top of the mouse
(4) will flash at least three times when moving or clicking the mouse. Mouse will continue to operate for a period, but batteries should be replaced immediately. 1 2 3 4 Mouse LED TROUBLESHOOTING Windows should have installed the drivers, but if the mouse does not function:
1. Go to My Bluetooth Places by double-clicking the desktop icon or the Bluetooth icon in the system tray. 2. Click on Search for Devices in Range. 3. If the mouse icon does not appear, click the discover button on the bottom of the mouse. 4. Right-click on the mouse icon, and select Connect Device. 5. The mouse should begin working. PAIRING & CONNECTING DEVICE Before you can begin using Bluetooth connectivity on your computer and other Bluetooth devices, you must perform some initial setup tasks. The Swiss Gear Maliblu Bluetooth Mouse is designed to work with three major software stack (protocol) standards: Toshiba, Microsoft and Mac OS X. Please check your computers documentation to see which software stack your computer has. Please contact your system vendor if your system does not support one of the following Bluetooth software standards. 3 5 BLUETOOTH SOFTWARE TOSHIBA To check your version of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack:
1. Launch the Bluetooth Manager. 2. Select the HELP menu. 3. Select ABOUT. NOTE: TO ENSURE OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE OF YOUR BLUETOOTH PRODUCT YOU NEED TOSHIBA BLUETOOTH STACK V3.20.00 OR HIGHER. IT FROM WWW.SUPPORT.TOSHIBA.COM. IF YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT VERSION PLEASE UPDATE 1. Double click on the Bluetooth Manager icon in the system tray, and then click New Connection. 2. When follow window appears, click New Connection to begin setup. 3. Please turn on the mouse and press the connection ID button located at the bottom of the mouse until the light in the middle scroller wheel blinks red light (discoverable mode). Click NEXT to continue pairing. 4. The computer will now search for the bluetooth mouse and other bluetooth devices. Please wait until the search is completed. 5. Please choose the device you wish to connect. There maybe more than one bluetooth device detected. Select Swiss Gear Maliblu Bluetooth Mouse and click NEXT to continue. If the mouse is not detected, please make sure the mouse is in discoverable mode and click REFRESH. 7. Please follow the on-screen instructions to continue setting up your bluetooth mouse. Click OK. 6. The computer will begin connecting with the mouse. If an authentication is required, a dialogue will appear. The mouse does not require a passkey
(PIN code). 8. You may want to create a connection name of change icon for the device. Once completed, press NEXT to finalize setup. 7 9 9. The connection is established and setup is complete. The mouse is ready to use. If the connection is not successful, please click BACK and search the device again. Click FINISH to exit setup. BLUETOOTH SOFTWARE MICROSOFT Make sure the Bluetooth radio is turned on. If necessary, check your computers manual to determine if the radio is activated. To add the Swiss Gear mouse, proceed with the following steps:
1. Double click on the Bluetooth Manager icon in the system tray. 10. The following screen should show the newly added mouse connection. You may want to continue to add other bluetooth devices or close the window. 2. This window should appear. Click ADD to launch the Bluetooth Device Wizard. 3. Please turn on the mouse and press the connection ID button located at the bottom of the mouse until the light in the middle scroller wheel blinks red (discoverable mode). Check the box My device is set up and ready to be found then click NEXT to continue. 5. Please choose the device you wish to connect. There maybe more than one Bluetooth device detected. Select the Swiss Gear Maliblu Bluetooth Mouse and click NEXT to continue. If the mouse is not detected, please make sure the mouse is in discoverable mode and click search again. 11 4. The computer will now search for the bluetooth mouse. 6. The mouse does not require a passkey (PIN code). Please check the Dont use a passkey circle and click NEXT to continue. 7. Windows will begin connecting with the bluetooth mouse. Please wait until this process is complete. BLUETOOTH SOFTWARE 13 8. The setup is complete. Click FINISH to exit setup. MAC 1. Go to the Bluetooth icon located on your desktop or in the system bar and click the icon to begin setup. Select Turn Bluetooth On to enable the device. 2. Scroll down the list to Set up Bluetooth Device... and select the option. 3. Bluetooth Setup Assistant will begin. Please follow the on-screen instructions. 4. Please select mouse and click continue to proceed with setup. Please make sure your mouse is in discoverable mode. To enable discoverable mode, turn on the mouse and press the connection ID button located at the bottom of the device until the light in the middle scroll wheel blinks red. 6. The Bluetooth mouse will now begin pairing. Click continue to proceed. 15 5. Your computer will begin to search for the mouse. Once the mouse is found, it will show up in the list. Highlight the mouse in the list you wish to connect and press continue to proceed with setup. 7. Congratulations. Your Bluetooth mouse is setup and is ready to use. Due to orientation of USB ports on your notebook or hub, the combined connect button/status light may not be in view. Laser sensors are rated for most surfaces. Avoid using the mouse on a reflective or mirrored surface as this might cause the mouse to function poorly or not at all. Before boarding an aircraft, remove batteries from the mouse. The mouse can transmit radio frequency energy when it is activated. The scrolling wheel/3rd button only works with the operating systems listed. If it is used with operating systems not listed, enhanced functions and features as a five-button mouse will be lost. The 4th and 5th buttons are not programmable. Note for Mac Users: This mouse does not have software for Mac mouse driver.
