Requirements TheFederalCommunicationsCommission(FCC)requiresapplicationfor certificationofdigitaldevicesinaccordancewithCFRTitle47,Part2andPart15. Thisincludeselectromagneticsusceptibilitytesting.AstheEMisnotastand alonetransceiverbutisanintegratedmodule,theEMcannotbetestedbyitself forEMC/EMIcertification. ThisdevicecomplieswithPart15oftheFCCrules.OperationoftheEMis subjecttothefollowingtwoconditions:(1)thisdevicemaynotcauseharmful interference,and(2)thisdevicemustacceptanyinterferencereceived,including interferencethatmaycauseundesiredoperation. Modes of operation Thedevelopmentkitsupportsfourmodesofoperation:standalonemode,host developmentmode,extendermodeandCEPCmode.Inallmodesofoperation, theembeddedmoduleismountedonthedevelopmentkitdaughtercard,which isspecificallydesignedforagivenEMmodel. Standalonemodeallowsforoperationofthemoduleindependentofthe targethostsystem.TheinterfaceprotocolisforcedtoDMprotocol, allowingcommunicationwiththelowestleveldevelopmenttools.
