NOTE: Do it yourself with the step-by-step instructions below if your vehicle has a cassette player or audio input. If your vehicle does not have a cassette player or audio input, professional installation is strongly recommended. If your vehicle requires professional installation you will need to use either the XM SureConnect
(sold separately) or the XM FM Direct Adapter (sold separately). Step 1: The Big Decision. Pick a spot for your radio. Vent or Dashboard?

WARNINGS:
When using this product it is always important to keep your eyes on the road and hands on the wheel. Not doing so could result in personal injury, death and/or damage to your SIRIUS XM Radio, accessories and /or to your vehicle or other property. The radio should be placed in your vehicle where it will not interfere with the function of safety features, e.g., deployment of airbags. Failure to correctly place radio may result in injury to you or others if the unit becomes detached during an accident and/or obstructs the deployment of an airbag. Vent Mount Adhesive Mount Install the Vent Mount 1 Locate a vent with horizontal slats sturdy enough to hold your vehicle dock and radio. 2 Adjust the clamps to fit your vent. 1 Locate a flat surface for the mount. Make sure there is ample room for the vehicle dock and radio when installed. 2 Clean the surface with the alcohol pad and let it dry thoroughly. 3 Peel off the adhesive liner. Position, press, and hold the adhesive mount in place for 30 seconds.
!
IMPORTANT: Let the adhesive dry for 2 - 3 hours before attaching the vehicle dock and radio to the mount. For best results let dry for 24 hours. Install the Adhesive Mount
!
CAUTION: The adhesive used with the adhesive mount may make it difficult to remove. Do not install this mount on leather surfaces and make sure the air temperature is at least 60F (15C). 2 Hide the wires inside. The best place to hide your antenna wire depends on your vehicle. Its usually easiest to run the wire from the rear of the vehicle to the front toward the radio by routing the cable along the interior trim where it meets the carpet, by gently pushing it behind the edges of the trim. Then bring the cable out from the trim and route it under the carpet to the dashboard or console. Plug the cable into the radio and coil any extra wires under the carpet or floor mat. TIP! Always be careful to include enough slack in your cable to accommodate open doors or trunk lids. Use things typically found around the home, like electrical tape or twist ties, to secure cables in areas so that hinges do not pinch the cable. Hide any excess cable in the trim. Sedan SUV

Use the Aux In Cable if your vehicle has an audio input jack. Use the Cassette Adapter if your vehicle has a built-in cassette player. 4 Insert the dock into the vent or adhesive mount. 5 Insert your radio into the dock.
!
NOTE: If your vehicle is not equipped with a cassette player or an audio input, you will need to use either the XM SureConnect (sold separately) or the FM Direct Adapter (sold separately). A professional installation is strongly recommended if you choose to use this method. Professional installation can help improve your radios reception and significantly reduce the visibility of wires. To learn more, go to www.sirius.com/mirge. XM SureConnect (sold separately): You can listen to your radio through your vehicles stereo by using the XM SureConnect. Simply find an unused FM frequency on the stereo and set your radio to transmit on that same frequency. Refer to Set the FM Frequency page in your user guide for more information. XM FM Direct Adapter (sold separately): This option directly connects the radio to your vehicles audio system and antenna. NOTE: If you are using the XM SureConnect or the XM FM Direct adapter, refer to Turn the FM modulator ON/OFF on page 54 of the user guide for more information. 19 NOTE: You may experience a brief delay while your radio powers up. If you press the power button during this time, you will see a Please Wait message. 3 7 4 8 4 Turn the swivel to accommodate the vehicle dock and radio. Adjust the tension via the center screw. You can adjust this screw to adjust the tension of the mount with a screwdriver. To remove, carefully lift the adhesive pad with your fingers or a spoon. Warming the pad with a hair dryer for several minutes will help soften the adhesive. Step 2: Mount the Interoperable Vehicle Antenna. Youll be glad you did this right. YOU MUST USE THE INCLUDED INTEROPERABLE ANTENNA WITH THIS RADIO 1 Place the antenna outside. Leave at least 3 of metal around the antenna. Use the rubber tail cover to hide and protect the exposed wire. Feed the wire under the rubber molding around the back windshield, into the seal around the trunk. Route the cable along trunk wall and into the interior cabin from there. Magnet Activate Before you can listen to any of the great channels, you must first activate your radio.

What is SureConnect?
The XM SureConnect connects your XM radio to your FM antenna. Here are the basic tasks youll complete during installation:
Make sure your XM radio and XM antenna are properly installed in your vehicle.
Affix the XM SureConnect to the FM antenna. 3 Run the cable along the best path from the FM antenna to your XM radio. 4 Connect your XM antenna to the coupling module. Connect the XM SureConnect cable to the antenna jack on the XM car cradle. 5 Turn it on and tune it in. This guide provides detailed step-by-step instructions for each of those tasks. It usually takes about 30 minutes to complete the installation. No special tools are needed. Need help? Call Listener Care at 1-800-XM-RADIO (1-800-967-2346) or contact us at www.xmradio.com.
Getting Started Its a good idea to familiarize yourself with the XM SureConnect before installing it. Use the FM Direct wired installation instead (sold separately).
Snap the coupling clip to the base of the FM antenna as shown.
Slide the boot down the FM antenna and press it into place so it covers the clip. 3 Use the cable wrap to secure the cable to the FM antenna.
3
Installing with an Outside FM Antenna 4 Route the cable:
TIP! Make sure the door does not pinch the cable when closed. TIP! Always cross the weather seals at the lowest point possible to reduce water leaks. TIP! Always hand wash or use brushless or touch-free car washes to avoid damaging the XM SureConnect. If the FM antenna is on the front of the vehicle, route the cable across the weather seal near the bottom of the door. Then tuck the XM SureConnect cable into the door jam and up to the dash or under the carpet to the radio as shown. Tuck the XM SureConnect cable under the door jam trim or under the carpet to the radio as shown.
Installing with an Inside FM Antenna
Locate the FM antenna on the inside of your vehicle. CAUTION: Do not attach the XM SureConnect to the rear defogger elements. The antenna is usually in the upper 6 to 8 inches of the rear window with the defogger located below it. The antenna has open ends (as shown) while the defogger has closed ends. If you look beyond the tinting, you may be able to see the single contact point for the antenna (the defogger has two contacts on opposite sides). single contact

Installing with an Inside FM Antenna
Clean the glass where the FM antenna is located. Make sure the surface is warm (but not hot) and completely dry before continuing. TIP! Use your vehicles air conditioning or defogger to keep the surface dry during installation. 3 Position the contact bracket so the arrows align with the antenna. The arrows indicate the location of the contact strip underneath which must be in contact with the FM antenna. The bracket may be mounted either vertically or horizontally, whichever position allows the most room to attach the coupling clip and run the cables without blocking the drivers view. TIP! In some cases, it is easier to position the bracket on the inside of the glass while viewing it from outside the vehicle. Ask a friend to help. 4 When you have determined the proper position for the bracket, remove the liners from the adhesive pads and press it into place. Hold the bracket firmly against the glass for 10 to 15 seconds. TIP! If the bracket is not in the proper position, you only have a few seconds to make an adjustment. TIP! Adhesive reaches full strength after 24 hours.

0 Installing with an Inside FM Antenna
Route the cable behind the trim and liners. Determine the best route for the cable. CAUTION! Leave enough slack in the cable so it does not pull the contact strip away from the antenna. XM Antenna SureConnect FM Antenna If the FM antenna is on the front window, the best route from the clip is usually along the windshield edge, down to the window liner, along the floor, and up to the dash. If the FM antenna is on the rear window, the best route from the clip is usually along the window edge to the window liner. From the rear pas-
senger compartment, tuck the cable under the carpet or door trim until you reach the dash. FM Antenna XM Antenna SureConnect

Make sure the XM radio is securely in the car cradle, then turn on the XM radio. 3 Follow the instructions in your XM radios User Guide to find the best FM frequencies available in your area. IMPORTANT! If you experience interference while using your AM radio, unplug the power to the XM radio to reduce interference.. ANT IN AUDIO OUT DC IN Note: Your car cradle may look different depending on which XM radio you are using.
Uninstalling XM SureConnect If you need to remove the XM SureConnect:
Disconnect the cable from the antenna jack on the XM car cradle. Disconnect the XM antenna from the coupling module.
For an outside FM antenna, remove the wrap, if applicable. Remove the boot. Remove the coupling clip. 3 For an inside FM antenna, remove the coupling clip by lifting the end where the cable enters the clip. TIP!
