Attestation Letter for Low Power Indoor Client Devices (6XD) FCC ID:
SBVRM039 To Whom It May Concern:
We, Sonos Inc., hereby declare that our device is an indoor client that will only associate with a low power indoor AP or indoor Subordinate device at a power equal to or lower than the power advertised by access point, and never above the maximum output power allowed by the FCC grant of equipment authorization. The device will initiate a request to associate and establish a connection only after passively scanning to determine if a low power indoor access point is available nearby, and does not support any direct air interface connections to other client devices. The device may transmit brief messages to an access point when attempting to join its network after detecting a signal that confirms that an access point is operating on a particular channel. These brief messages will have a time-out mechanism if it does not receive a response from an AP. The device will be under the control of a low power indoor AP at all times. A contention-based protocol is used to avoid co-channel interference with incumbent devices sharing the band, as demonstrated inside the test report. The CBP mechanism is embedded within the radio and independent of the host. The integration manual supplied with this radio contains all applicable indoor use only and operational restriction warnings to notify the host integrator.
