Contact local authorities to obtain Electrical Code that may apply to the installation of this product. Pull by the plug rather than the cord when disconnecting. This will reduce the risk of damage to the electric plug andcord. Make sure that the power and ethernet cords are positioned so that they will not be tripped over, or otherwise subjected to damage orstress. Do not abuse the cord. Grounded Outlet Ungrounded Outlet with Adaptor 6 The power cable must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is nearby, properly installed, and grounded in accordance with all local codes andordinances.The unit is for use on a nominal 120V circuit and should be connected to a grounded outlet. Atemporary adaptor, always being held in place by a screw, may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole outlet if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The adaptor should be used only until a properly grounded outlet can be installed by a qualified electrician. The green colored rigid ear, lug, and the like, extending from the adaptor must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover. An extension cord must have adequate wire size (AWG or American Wire Gauge) for safety. The smaller the gauge number of the wire, the greater the capacity of the cable. For example, a 16 gauge wire has more capacity than an 18 gauge wire. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. When using more than one extension to make up the total length, be sure each individual extension contains at least the minimum wire size.
