When you remove this door, you will see a wired connector for the radio's built-in rechargeable batteries. With this plugged in, you can use the hand crank to charge and power your radio for emergency use. You can also charge these batteries with an AC adapter, available for purchase from Royal by calling 1-800 222-2310 Once the wired connector is plugged in, insert 3 X AA batteries into the radio, being careful not to damage the wires from the connector plug. Those wires should be tucked into the space provided in the battery area. Please note: Do not use rechargeable batteries. Your radio will only recharge the radio's built-in recharge-
able battery. Replace batteries in sets. Never mix old batteries with new batteries. Never mix battery types as well. SETTING THE CLOCK Step 1: Rotate the POWER switch to OFF position. Step 2: Press and hold the TIME SET button. Step 3: While holding the TIME SET button, Press the HOUR and MINUTE button to adjust the hour and minute on the clock Step 4: Release the TIME SET button to set the adjusted time. SETTING THE ALARM Step 1: Rotate the POWER switch to OFF position Step 2: Press and hold the ALARM SET button. Step 3: While holding the ALARM SET button, press the HOUR and MINUTE button to adjust the hour and minute on the alarm time. Step 4: Release the ALARM SET button to set the adjusted alarm time. Step 5: Rotate the BAND switch (WB,FM,AM) to the desired mode for the alarm sound. Turn the Volume Dial all the way towards ALARM to set the alarm sound by using the buzzer. Step 6: Press the ALARM Button to activate or deactivate the set alarm. LISTENING TO THE AM/FM RADIO Step 1: Adjust the BAND switch (WB, FM, AM) to AM or FM position. Step 2: Adjust the POWER switch to the ON position Step 3: Turn the TUNING knob to adjust the AM or FM radio station LISTENING TO THE WEATHERBAND RADIO Step 1: Adjust the BAND switch (WB, FM, AM) to the WB position Step 2: Adjust the POWER switch to the ON position Step 3: Adjust the WEATHER CHANNELS switch to the channel received in your current area There are 7 NOAA dedicated frequencies for NOAA broadcasts which are used in the United States. You will only be able to receive NOAA broadcast on the 1 frequency that is transmitting in your area. Find the channel by moving the WEATHER CHANNELS through the 7 pre-set stops until you hear the broadcast. NOAA Weather Alerts are available in most areas of the United States however they may not be available in remote areas. For a list of areas which receive Weatherband frequency, Visit : http://www.weather.gov/nwt/nwtbro.htm on the internet SET THE WEATHER ALERTS. Adjust the WEATHER CHANNEL switch to the channel received your area as described above and turn the POWER switch to the WB ALERT setting. You will see a red LED directly above the display to indicate you are in the weather alert mode. An alarm will sound when a weather alert for your area is broadcast. Turn your radio on to hear the alert. CONNECTING A CELL PHONE TO THE RADIO Step 1: Any Cell Phone or Cell Phone with Mini-USB port can be connected to the unit for charging Step 2: Find the Suitable Cell Phone Adaptor that first to be connected, and plug it into the phone and the Cell Phone Charger, located on the back of the radio connection. Step 3: The connected phone can now be charged by the Dynamo hand crank. Cell Phone connection cable with suitable Cell Phone Adaptor not included. Warning: Dont unplug the buit-in Ni-MH rechargeable batteries when you are using Dynamo hand crank, that may damage cell phone charging system. CONNECTING AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE TO THE RADIO Step 1: Any Electronics Device with USB or Mini-USB port can be connected to the radio for charging. Step 2: Plug the correct USB cable into the USB-powered device and the USB charge-out located on the back of the radio connection. Step 3: The connected device can now be charge by the radio's Dynamo Hand Crank. Warning: Dont unplug the buit-in Ni-MH rechargeable batteries when you are using Dynamo hand crank, that may damage outside electronic device charging system. Tuning Dial Tum the Tuning Dial to adjust the frequency of the AM or FM radio 2. Band Switch (WB,FM,AM) Adjust the Band Switch to switch between WB, FM and AM modes. Under the Weather Alert mode this Band Switch must be set to WB mode. 3. Volume Dial Turn the Volume Dial to adjust the volume of audio output from unit. Turn the Volume Dial to Alarm to set the alarm source to Buzzer Mode. 4. Light Switch (Flashlight -On/Siren/Off) Use the Light Switch (Flashlight-On/Siren /Off) to controlled by the torch light and siren sound with torch light blinking on/off. 5. Alarm Button Press the Alarm button to activate the alarm setting 6. Back-Light Button Press the Back-Light Button to turn on the amber light for the LCD display. 7. Power Indicator Power LED light on to indicate the radio function is active now 8. WB-Alert Indicator WB-Alert LED light on to indicate the radio is set to weather alert function 9. Weather band channel Switch Switch the Weather band Channel to adjust the weather band broadcast channel 1~7. 10. Recharge /Battery Low This LED light on is indicated the rechargeable battery is charging by AC adaptor or hand cranking dynamo. When the LED light is weak, which indicate the battery power is low. 11. Alarm Set Button Press and hold the Alarm Set Button to set the alarm. 12. Time Set Button Press and hold the Time Set Button to set the clock. 13. Radio/Clock Button Press and hold Radio/Clock Button to view the time when in AM or FM mode. 14. Hour Button Press the Hour Button to adjust the hour when setting the clock or alarm. 15. Minute Button Press the Minute Button to adjust the minute when setting the clock or alarm. 16.
