Keep safe distance from products which could be damaged by magnets
(e.g. monitors, computers, pacemakers, credit cards). Use only original spare parts from Testo. Temperature information given on probes/sensors relates only to the measuring range of the sensor technology. Do not expose handles and feed lines to temperatures in excess of 45 C (113 F), unless they are expressly authorized for use at higher temperatures. WARNING Risk of burns due to hot probes, probe tubes and sensor tips!
Dont touch hot parts (> 45 C / 113 F) bare-handed immediately after a measurement.
- In case of burns, immediately cool the area with cold water and, if necessary, consult a doctor.
- Probes, probe tubes and sensor tips to cool. The product must not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres unless it has been specifically approved for this area. Do not carry out any contact measurements on uninsulated, live parts. Do not expose the product to extremely high or low temperatures. Avoid temperatures below -5 C or above 45 C. Exception is when a product has been specifically approved for other temperatures. Protect the product from dust and dirt. Make sure that it is not exposed to dust, dirt, sand, etc. Avoid dropping the product. The instrument may only be touched at the designated grip areas, the display elements must not be covered. If the safety of the operator can no longer be guaranteed, you must decommission the instrument and ensure that it cannot be used inadvertently. This applies if the instrument:
o has obvious indications of damage o cracks on the housing o defective test leads o leaking batteries o will no longer carry out the required measurements o was stored for too long in unfavourable conditions o was exposed to mechanical stresses during transport. 3 Disposal Dispose of faulty rechargeable batteries and spent batteries in accordance with the valid legal specifications. At the end of its useful life, deliver the product to the separate collection point for electric and electronic devices (observe local regulations) or return the product to Testo for disposal. WEEE-Reg.-Nr. DE 75334352 The button cell used in the instrument contains 1,2-Dimethoxyethane (CAS 110-71-4). See EC Regulation No. 1907/2006 (REACH) Art. 33 4 Power source (Batteries, rechargeable batteries, button cells) Improper use of batteries may cause the batteries to be destroyed, or lead to injury due to current surges, fire or escaping chemicals. Only use the batteries supplied in accordance with the instructions in the instruction manual. Do not short-circuit the batteries. Do not take the batteries apart and do not modify them. Do not expose the batteries to heavy impacts, water, fire or temperatures in excess of 60 C unless specifically permitted for higher temperatures. Do not store the batteries in the proximity of metal objects. Do not use any leaky or damaged batteries. Only charge the instrument using the recommended mains unit or in the recommended charging station. Immediately stop the charging process if this is not completed in the given time. Remove the power cable or take the rechargeable battery out of the instrument immediately if it is not functioning properly or if it shows signs of superheating. Rechargeable battery may be hot!
In the event of contact with battery acid: rinse affected areas thoroughly with water, and if necessary consult a doctor. When not in use for a long period of time, take the rechargeable battery out of the instrument to prevent exhaustive discharge. 5 Cleaning Clean the product with a dry and soft cloth. Do not use alcohol, harsh detergents, solvents or other cleaning fluids to clean the product. Do not use any desiccants. Use distilled water or alternatively mild solvents or degreasers. Store solvents and degreaser separately from the product as leaking solvents and degreaser may cause damage to the product. The use of strong or harsh alcohol or brake cleaner can result in damage to the instrument. 6 Products with wireless technology Changes or modifications that have been made without the explicit consent of the responsible approval authority, may cause the retraction of the type approval. Data transfer may be disturbed by equipment that uses the same ISM-band. The use of radio communication links is not permitted, among others, in aeroplanes and hospitals. For this reason the following points must be ensured before entering:
Switch off the instrument. Isolate the device from any external power sources (mains, cable, external rechargeable batteries, ...). Transport and store the instrument only in the associated packaging, in order to prevent any damage. Keep the product away from any liquids and do not put it in the water.
