Introduction 2.1 introducing the Bono Media Player MP-8000 HD Bono Media player is a standalone, multimedia hard disk player which plays digital videos, music, still images and DVD les to a TV screen and home enter-

After you connect the composite cable, press STAR button repeatedly on your remote control until PAL ( NTSC ) composite is displayed on VFD. Connecting to TV with HDMI cable TV HDMI INPUT HDMI Cable This connection provides the best video and audio quality. Connect HDMI output of the player and HDMI input of the television with HDMI cable.
( Notice: HDMI cable is excluded from the Packing Contents ) After you connect the video cable to your TV, press the ( ) button repeatedly on your remote controller until you get the initial screen or main menu of your Media player. Tips 12 3. Basic Installation 3.4. Connecting to other audio devices This connection is for digital 5.1 CH Amplier and 6 speakers with your Media player DIGITAL Amplier Home Theater Optical Cable If you have a multi-channel decoder/amplier with an optical input, you can enjoy 5.1CH highquality sound through the optical cable . Connect the optical cable between your Media player and the other audio devices.
( Notice: Optical cable are excluded in the Packing contents ) 13 3. Basic Installation 3.5. Connecting your Media Player to Home Network ( Wired ) DSL Modem PHONE LINE DC 5V CONSOLE LAN Ethernet Cable Router You need a Router ( Wired or Wireless ) to connect the Media Player and your PC. Use LAN cables to connect the Media Player and your PC to your Router for sharing the media les residing Within folders or drives on your wired - networked PC with Media Player 14 3. Basic Installation 3.6. Powering up your Media Player Connect the power cord to an electrical outlet. After plug in and switch on, the player is in stand by. Press Power button on the RCU, the blue light on the front of the player comes on, and the player gets started. 3.7 Inserting Batteries in the remote control 1. Open the battery compartment by removing the lid 2. Insert the batteries with the right polarity ( marked on the base of the battery compartment ) 3. Close the battery compartment If the player no longer reacts properly to remote control commands, the batteries may be at. Make sure to remove the used Batteries. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage resulting from leaking batteries 15 3. Basic Installation 3.8. Place the assembled HDD on the main board matching the screw points as the picture and screw 3 points Screw a point as the picture Close the top case as the picture and screw 3 points in the rear panel. 17 3. Basic Installation 3.9. Formatting the Hard Disk After installing the internal HDD, please format the HDD for full usage in Media player. Go to System tab in Setup menu and select HDD Format . Conrmation message will displayed in popup window and select Yes Then HDD format gets started. After installing the internal HDD by yourself , you should format the HDD regardless of new or used one. Note 18 4. Basic Setup Before using the Media Player, you may need to congure your Media player to work with your display ( TV ) and Network. Go to the Setup Manager and you can do initial settings 4.1. Video Setting
TV Type : Select the TV standard between NTSC and PAL
Auto switch : is used when the video out is changed according to the NTSC, PAL or 24Hz format
TV Ratio : Select the TV screen ratio between 16:9 and 4:3
Video Output : The default video setting is Component Select the video port you connected among Composite / Component / HDMI .
Resolution : Select this when you connect the video through a component or HDMI cable
HDMI : Auto EDID, 480i / 576i , 480P/576P, 720P, 1080i, 1080P 1080i is recommendable to work on all HD grade TVs

After selecting DHCP, press Search Wireless Network for searching your AP or AP Router 3. Press Wireless Network Search for searching your AP or AP Router 4.3.2 Wireless Network Search After the interval of searching, in the event that the Wi-Fi network is successfully searched, you can see the AP list, and select the AP you want to get connected with. You can see the AP with a lock icon meaning WEP ( Wired Equivalent Privacy ) setting and the AP with a unlocked icon meaning non-WEP setting. Tips 21 4. Basic Setup 4.3.3 AP setting in case of WEB AP In case that you select SSID with WEP setting, the popup menu with SSID network key input is displayed and insert the network key using the numeric buttons on the remote controller . After entering the network key , press OK. Then popup menu of the Wireless Network Information setting in the Media player is displayed. The secured network key can be checked or set in the WEP Key menu of your router
( Refer to your routers Instruction manual ) The WEP 64 Bit key is only supported and WPA ( Wi-Fi Protected Access ) or RADIUS Server are not supported. In addition, HEXA key input is supported but ASCII key input is not supported Tips Note 4.3.4 Wireless Network Infomation In the event that using wireless AP is not set in DHCP or the network key is not entered correctly, Subnet Mask and DNS Server as well as IP are not displayed. Note 22 4. Basic Setup 4.4. PC Network connection There are 2 methods for PC connection in Bono Media player: UPnP and Samba ( NAS ) 4.4.1. UPnP ( using U-Server ) After installing the U-Server program ( enclosed in package ) in the locally connected PC, set the U-Server Enable in Network tab of Setup menu. Then Media player will detect the U-Server installed & locally connected PC and display the les of the PC in the screen. Tips For U-Server installation, refer to 7.2 Using the U-Server . 4.4.2. Samba ( NAS ) 1) Network disk selection Select the one of 3 Network disks and set it Enable Tips Maximum 3 PCs can be connected with Media player 23 4. 37 6. Share Manager 6.1. Before using Share Manager Requirement 1. Internal Hard Disk Drive To use Share Manager, the internal Hard Disk Driver MUST be installed in the Media player . Requirement 2. Register in CUG Media To use Share Manager, you MUST be a member in the CUG Media service. You can simply register with your registration number found on the rear panel in the website : www.cugmedia.net After registering in CUG Media , you can access full functions in Share Manager. CUG ( Closed User Group ) is a end-user group with Bono Media player who can share between members within the group. - Green : You can transmit the les from the CUG Friend.

- Gray : Request for CUG friend is not accepted yet. 6.2.2. Add a friend You can add a CUG member to share the contents in the friend list. Press RED button to open the popup menu for adding a friend. Enter an ID you desired to add and press OK button. Then your request is delivered to your friend. You should wait until your friend accepts your request and after acceptance, you can nd the added ID in the list You can enter an ID with the numeric buttons on the remote controller. If you want to delete Tips a letter, press BACK button. The letters are changed in order : English Minuscule -> English Capital -> Number 40 6. Share Manager 6.2. Friend Management 6.2.3. Request for adding a CUG friend In the event that a CUG member wanting to be your friend tries to add you in the friend list, You can see the popup menu of the request for adding a friend. You can approve or deny as you want for the request. 6.2.4. Refresh the Friend list When you want to update the events like friend request, press Green ( Refresh ) button in the friend list. 6.2.5. Check your CUG Friend request When you want to check that your request for CUG friend is accepted, press Green ( Refresh ) button. Then go to the ID in gray icon you requested to add and press OK button. In the case that your request is accepted, the icon color of the ID turns green. 6.2.4. Delete a friend You can delete a friend of your friend list. In the friend list, select a friend you want to delete and press YELLOW button. The popup menu for conrmation is displayed and select OK button. Then the friend is deleted in your list. After deleting a friend in your friend list, you can not share his contents anymore Note 41 6. Share Manager 6.3. Media List The media files in Media list are in the Share folder of Media player of your CUG friends In the friend list, select a friend you want to share the les, and his le list gets transmitted. Go to Media list, and you can see the les in the Share folder of your CUG friend. 1. New Contents The contents newly updated in the latest 4 weeks are listed in the New Contents folder. These contents are also listed in the each folder : Movie, Music and Photo as media type. 2. Movie, Music and Photo folder As the type of media, the sharing contents are listed in each folder. 3. Color buttons
- Download : Press Red button to download a sharing media le in the list and the media le gets downloaded in your internal Hard Disk Drive.
- Delete : Press Yellow button to delete a media le in the list. Then the media le gets deleted and a member owned the media le gets deleted in your friend list.
- Previous : Press Blue button to go back to the previous step 42 6. Share Manager 6.4. Download List 1. Download List You can check the status of your download requests in the Download List.
- Complete : downloading is completed
- Fail : downloading gets failed due to some reasons
- In Process : downloading is in process. It is displayed in percentage. ( ex: 24.5% )
- Waiting : downloading is standby 2. Downloaded file You can nd the downloaded le in each share folder of Movie, Music and Photo menu a as the media type. 3. Playback in the Download List In the event that the downloading of a media is in Complete or Processing , you can playback the media le in the Download List.
( In the event of processing, the downloading percentage should be over 70% ) 43 6. Share Manager 6.5. BBS 1. BBS You can nd the new posts which the CUG members uploaded in the BBS of CUG Media website. 2. A Post Navigate BBS using the Up/Down button on the remote controller and select a post using OK button. Then the post gets opened. 3. Add a friend You can add a friend in BBS. After opening a post of a member, if you want him to be your CUG friend, press Red button. Then your request is delivered to him. You should wait until he accepts your request. After some times are passed, in the friend list, press Green(reesh) button and go to the requesting ID in gray. Then press OK button to check his acceptance. 44 7. File Management 7. 1 Using File Manager You can manage the les using File Manager without using PC. You can now copy, move and delete contents from external USB HDD to the internal HDD of Media player and also move & copy the contents within the internal HDD. 1) Select the storage device and find a folder / a file to move or copy :
Go to le manager in Setup menu and select a external storage devices in the list Then navigate the folders and select a le to move or copy in the list. 2) Move / Copy Press a red button to copy the selected le and navigate the folders and select one. Then the Copy gets started. Press a Green button to move the selected le and press OK button to select an storage device you want to designate. Navigate the folders and select one. Using U Server U Server is the program to allow the the connection between the Bono Media player and the PC. After you designate the folders for sharing with the Bono Media player in the U Server installation, the le in the folders can playback directly in the Bono Media player. 7.2.1 Before installation of U Server When the enclosed CD is put into the CD-ROM of PC , it will be auto-run. After the program list is displayed, select U Server 7.2.2 U Sever installation Step 1. Language selection Select your language preference and click OK . Step 2. Starting Setup Click Next to continue 47 7. File Management Step 3. License Agreement 4 . Installation Location selection Read over the End user License Agreement and click I agree to continue Select the destination folder and click Install to continue 5. Media files Location selection 6 . Registration Number Select the folders to store the media les and get opened in network connection using browsing button. Then click Next to continue Tips The only les in these folders can directly playback in the Bono Media player . In the PC tab of Bono Media player, these folders can be seen. 7 . Local Interface Setting Entered the registration number and click Next to continue complete the installation. The registration number is the 12 digits of combination of letters and numbers found on the bottom of your Media Player . Tips 8 . Completion Select one network interface and click Install to continue 48 Click Next to complete and click Finish to nish the installation. 7. File Management 7.2.3 U Sever uninstallation Click Start -> Go to PROGRAM -> go to UTV BONO MP -> select Uninstall Click Next to continue Click Unintall Click Close to complete the uninstallation 49 7. Menu of U Server Click Click Start -> Go to PROGRAM -> go to UTV BONO MP -> select U Server or Click the control (right) button of the mouse on the U Server icon Start Uses when U Server program gets started Stop Uses when U Server program get stopped Restart Uses when U Server program get resumed Bono File Manager Uses when Bono File Manager gets activated . Preference Uses when general options get changed in U Server. Directory: You can change the setting for the directory location of each media le( Movie, Music, Photo)
. Network: You can change the network interface or registration number of the product
. Misc : You can change the language of U Server
. About : You can check the program version of U Server. Tips After changing the setting, you should RESTART the U Server. Exit Uses when U Server program gets disabled. After selecting Exit , control pad of U Server is closed and the icon is disappeared U Server icon In the event that U Server icon is in green U Server is running and in the event that U Server icon is in gray, U Server is stopped. Tips 50 7. File Management 7.2.5. Before using Bono File Manager Bono MP File Manager is the program which allows a le in a PC to be shared with UTV Bono Media player as well as another PC via network. Bono Media Player supports the FTP Server function and a le can be moved, copied and deleted via network using Bono MP File Manager. In addition, since it can be connected via Internet, the le in the PC can be moved, copied and deleted anywhere using IP address. 7.2.6. Activating Bono File Manager Method 1 Click Start -> Go to PROGRAM -> go to UTV BONO MP -> select Bono File Manager Method 2 Method 3 Click the control (right) button of the mouse on the U Server icon and open the U Server menu page. Log in Bono File Manager 1234 Step 1 When you activate UTV Bono File Manger , log in popup menu is displayed and enter the information of your Media player; such as [ Registration Number ]

Registration Number : enter the registration number with 12 digits of combination of letters and numbers found on the bottom of your Media Player. .
IP Address : enter the IP address of your Media player. You can check the IP address of Bono Media player in the Network information of Network tab in SETUP menu. Step 2 Press Connect button, and the connection to Bono Media player is done. Then UTV Bono File manager is activated and opened. 52 7. File Management 7.2.8 File management using Bono File Manager - Download Click [ Download ] button Select a folder and a le to download in the Media Player Select the location to save Select a folder in the Media player to download . Select the location ( a folder ) to save in the PC Click the DOWNLOAD button to start the downloading from the Bono Media player to PC 7.2.9.
