-IF YOU ARE BEGINNING, PLEASE GO TO PAGE I TROUBLESHOOTING SECTION 1) Before beginning the installation, my existing wired doorbell system does not operate properly. Your new wireless doorbell extender only works with an existing wired doorbell system that is operating properly. You might need an electrician to repair your existing wired doorbell if it is not working properly 2) The pushbutton does nat light and neither the wired doorbell nor the wireless doorbell ring when the pushbutton is pressed, Be certain you tumed the wired doorbell power back on after installation. If power is turned on and the problem remains, tum the power off. Check your new wireless pushbutton installation (THIRD STEP and FOURTH STEP). Be sure the wires are not broken behind the pushbutton and be sure there is one wire bare-end attached to one screw terminal and one wire bare-end attached to the other screw terminal. Be sure each bare wire does not touch any other spot other than its own screw terminal, Ifthe problem remains, turn power off, Disconnect the new wireless pushbutton and reconnect the old wired pushbutton. If the old wired doorbell system does not work properly, see troubleshooting #1, above. If the old wired doorbell system works properly, then please turn the power off and repeat the THIRD STEP AND FOURTH STEP to try installing it again. ta The new pushbutton lights-up and the wired doorbell rings, but the wireless doorbell box never rings. Push the Volume Control button on the wireless doorbell box. If it does not beep, check the battery installation to be sure the batteries are installed in the correct direction. The correct battery direction is marked inside the battery compartment and is also shown in the illustration with the FOURTH STEP. If it does beep, try it with the wireless doorbell box ina different location, Ifthe unit does not work with the wireless pushbutton and doorbell box nearby, you could have radio frequency interference in your area,such as cell phone, cordless phones, wireless LAN, two-way radio, etc. It may not be possible to have reliable operation under such conditions. 4) Sometimes, the wireless doorbell box does not ring every time I push the new pushbutton, The new pushbutton requires a short recharge time between pushes, 5o, try it with a short delay between consecutive pushes, Ifthe problem remains, replace the wireless doorbell box batteries with fresh (new) alkaline batteries, Ifthe problem remains, try it with the wireless doorbell box in a different location, If the unit does not work reliably with the new pushbutton and wireless doorbell box nearby, then you could have radio frequency interference in your area, such as cell phone, cordless phones, wireless LAN, two-way radio, etc. It may not be possible to have reliable operation under such conditions.
