Pull out the packaging locks. GETTING STARTED How to Exit Try-Me Mode If the Kidi StarTM Drum Pad is in try-me mode in the packaging,slide the Normal Play / Demo Switch to the Normal Play position which is located at the back of the unit from Demo Notes: The batteries included in the unit are for demo purposes only to exit try-me mode. and are not long life batteries. Please replace them with a whole new set of batteries for the best performance. Turn Outwards The Drum Pads Turn outwards the Drum Pad 1 and Drum Pad 6 to become wider to play!

Find the battery cover located on the bottom of the unit and use a screwdriver to loosen the screw, then open the battery cover. 3. Remove old batteries by pulling up on one end of each battery. 4. Install 4 new AA (LR6/AM-3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended.) 5. Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure. 5 IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -). Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries. Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used. Do not short-circuit the supply terminals. Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. Remove exhausted batteries from the toy. Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:
Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from the toy before charging. Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision. Ne pas tenter de recharger des piles non rechargeables. 7 Safety information when using power supply for toys VTech recommends a power supply (AC/
DC adaptor) of the below specification:
Power rating: 6V/(800mA or above) DC output with 3.5mm(OD)/1.35mm(ID) plug
(center positive). This toy should only be used with a 3.5mm(OD) 9-10mm 1.35mm(ID) power supply suitable for use with toys. The power supply is not a toy. This toy is not intended for use by children under 3 years old. Do not connect the toy to more than the recommended number of power supplies. Never clean a plugged in toy with liquid. Please examine the power supply periodically for conditions that may result in the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons
(such as damage to the supply cord, output cord, plug, blades, housing, or other parts) and that, in the event of such conditions, the power supply should be scrapped. Power supplies for toys are not intended to be used as toys, and the use of these products by children shall be under the full supervision of parents. 8 POWER ADAPTER CONNECTION Make sure your Kidi StarTM Drum Pad is turned off. Remove the batteries before connected the AC adapter. Locate the AC Adapter Jack on the side of the unit. Connect an AC adapter (not included) to the AC Adapter Jack
. to turn the system On. Plug the adapter into a power outlet. Press the Power Button Note: When the toy is not going to be used for an extended period of time, unplug the adapter. PRODUCT FEATURES 1. Normal Play / Demo Switch Slide the Normal Play / Demo Switch to the Normal Play Demo to exit try-me mode. position from 2. Turntable Drum Pads The number 1 and number 6 pads are the two cymbal drum pads. Turn outwards to become wider and inwards to narrower. 3. Power Button Press the Power Button to turn on the unit. Press the button again to turn off the unit. FREE PLAY SONGS DRUM STYLE 9 CUSTOM DRUMS 4. Microphone Use the Microphone to record your own drum sounds and jam with the music. 5. Audio-Out Jack (Headphone Jack) Use an audio cable (not included) to connect the unit and the headphones for silent play or connect the unit to an external speaker or other audio devices. 6. Line-In Jack Connect an external music player to the Line-In Jack using a 3.5mm cable (cable and music player are not included). 7. AC Adapter Connect the unit to AC power (adapter is not included). 8. Automatic Shut Off To preserve battery life, the unit will automatically power off after several minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the Power Button. If the unit repeatedly shut off or has abnormal responses, please insert new batteries and try again. ACTIVITIES 1. Free play Hit the drum pads to play your own drum pattern! Press the Click Track Button to play the click sound in order to help keeping a steady tempo for the drum play. 10 2. Music Tracks Play along with the included 30 tracks by pressing the Music Tracks Button. Press the Drum On/Off or Melody On/Off Buttons to add or remove the drumbeats and melodies. Using the Start/Stop Button to stop and start the melody again. Speed up or slow down the melody by pressing the Tempo Button. 3. Coach Press the Coach Button to practise drum beats, fills and rudiments in pattern. Follow the demo to learn different drumbeats. 4. Tips Keep pressing the Tips Button to get to know the fun fact about drum. 5. Songs Press the Songs Button to hear 6 included songs. The tempo, drum on/off and the melody on/off buttons are not in this mode. 11 6. Drum Style Selected different drum style sets for the drum sound by pressing the Drum Style Button. Press Left or Right Button or keep pressing the Drum Style Button to choose the drum style. Keep pressing the Drum Style Button during the music to change to next Drum style. 7. Custom Drums Press the Custom Drums Button to assign the drum sounds and record your own drum sounds. Use Left or Right Button to choose Custom Drum Sounds or Drum Sound Recorder. Select to use the drum sets in Drum style after the sounds had been set. Select the Drum Sounds Hit the pads to select the drum pad and press the OK Button to confirm. Then, it will enter the drum sound selection page. In the sound selection page, use the Left and Right Button to change the sound and press OK Button to confirm. Record the Drum Sound Hit the pads to select the drum pad and press the OK Button to confirm. Then, it will enter the drum sound record page. In the sound record page, use the OK Button to record the drum sound. Choose the playback icon to replay the sound. Choose to record again by select the re-record icon or choose Tick icon to confirm the recording. 12 8. Drum practice Recording To be a good drummer, record your drum practice by pressing the Recording Button. It can record the drum sounds in Free Play Mode, Music Track and Songs. It will automically stop recording if enter other page or after few seconds. Press the Replay Button to replay the recording to see how much you can improve every day. 9. Games Press the Game Button to play three drum games. Beat Challenge The music bars will fall from the top toward the bottom. Hit the corresponding pads when the music bar reaches the bottom line. Lets see how many combo you get!
Chase the Light The pads will light up with different color. Hit the pads with the corresponding color to chase the light!
Voice Jam Press the OK Button to record your voices. It will jam your voice with the music to become an art pieces. 13 10. Click Track Practice makes perfect. Play the click track to keep a steady tempo for the drum play by pressing the Click Track Button in Free Play mode. 11. Audience SFX Press the SFX Button to play different cool sound effects. 12. Light Setting Press the Light Setting Button to select different light setting. Drum Pad Color Change There are 4 drum pad color sets and 1 custom pad color; in custom pad color, press Left and Right Buttons or hit the pads to select the drum pad. Then, it will enter the pad color selection page. In the pad color selection page, use the Left and Right Button to change the pad color and press OK Button to confirm. Neon light On/Off Pad LED On/Off LCD Backlit On/Off Pad luminosity 14 13. Bluetooth Press the Bluetooth Button to connect to a nearby device via Bluetooth connection. When the drum pad is pairing, the Bluetooth light will flash. When the drum pad is successfully connected with a device, the Bluetooth light will remain on. Please be noted that the recording function is not available when the Bluetooth is connecting. Bluetooth Connection 1. Press the Bluetooth Button then the Bluetooth Button will light up and flash. 2. Enter the Bluetooth interface of your device and begin searching for Bluetooth devices. 3. Select VTech 5726 Drums when you see it displayed on your devices. 4. Enter the PIN number from the drum pad on the device. 5. When the Bluetooth connected. The Bluetooth Button light will remain on. 6. To exit Bluetooth mode, press the Bluetooth Button again. 7. The drum pad will automatically search and connect to the last Bluetooth device that it was connected to before. You do not need to enter the PIN number again. 14. Line in Connect an external music device with a 3.5mm cable. The Bluetooth will be disconnected when the line-in is connected. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth. 2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat sources. 3. Remove the batteries if the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time. 4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to excess moisture. TROUBLESHOOTING If for some reason the unit stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit Off. 2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries. 3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries. 4. Turn the unit On. The unit should now be ready to use again. 5. If the unit still does not work, install a new set of batteries. If there is a pairing problem with your Bluetooth device, please follow these steps:
1. On your Bluetooth enabled device, please go to Bluetooth settings. If VTech 5726 Drums is found in your list of connected, paired or saved devices, please forget or unpair it. 2. Disable and enable Bluetooth or restart your device. 3.
