Asde from beng a hgh-end cordless DECT phone, t also allows you to call any D-Lfe user for free for as long as you want, whenever you want, for as long as you want. You can also make long dstance and nternatonal calls to regular phone numbers at heavly dscounted rates through D-Lfe servce. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 1 Secton 1 - Product Overvew Features Dual Mode Phone Free calling over the internet using a real cordless phone The DHA-130 gves you the cost savngs of nternet callng wth the convenence of a dual-mode cordless phone. Call any D-Lfe member across the globe anytme, for as long as you want, for free. You can also call any landlne or moble telephone number at heavly dscounted rates. Make long dstance and nternatonal calls all at the same low rate. You can place and receive internet calls as easily as normal phone calls without sacrificing PSTN access. Easy to use embedded solution By embeddng D-Lfe servce nto the DHA-130, you can make and receve calls wthout a PC. Every phone s bundled wth a unque 8-dgt D-Lfe number free of charge that makes t easy to call any D-Lfe member. There are no user names or e-mal addresses you need to enter nto your phone just dal ther 8-dgt D-Lfe number. The callng process
s transparent and does not requre you to learn complcated callng procedures. Zero-configuration setup Installng the DHA-130 s ncredbly smple and requres no networkng knowledge. Smply go to the D-Lfe webste and register your DHA-130, then plug it in and connect it to your Internet router. There is no router configuration, port forwardng, or other complcated procedure needed the DHA-130s auto-provsonng and NAT traversal automatcally connect to the D-Lfe servce for you. 1. Register your phone at www.d-life.com If you do not have a D-Lfe account, you wll need to create one. 2. Connect your device It is important that you register your phone first, as your phone will not function until you do so. Open a web browser and go to www.d-life.com. Clck on the Sign Up button to create a new D-Lfe account. Note: If you already have a D-Lfe account, log n to the www.d-lfe.com webste or the D-Lfe Wdget and skp ahead to Adding a device - Existing Users. Enter/Confirm Information and EULA Please enter your nformaton nto the boxes shown. Addtonal optons such as e-mal language and currency dsplay can be changed by clckng on Optional Information, or you can change them later from your My Profile screen. Clck on the terms and conditions lnk to read the D-Lfe Terms & Condtons agreement and EULA, and tck the I accept the terms and conditions checkbox to ndcate that you have read and agree to these agreements, then clck Next. Connect the Ethernet cable Connect the whte Ethernet cable to the port located on the back of the DHA-130 base staton and connect the other end to the your router/modem. 2. Connect your phone line Connect the black phone cable to the LINE port on the back of the DHA-130 base staton and connect the other end to your wall jack. 3. Connect the Power Adapter. Plug the Power Adapter to the power jack on the back of the base staton, and plug the other end nto an avalable power outlet. 3 D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 13 1 2 Secton 2 - Installaton Connecting your devices (cont.) 4. Verify your Ethernet connection After connectng your hardware, you can check your connecton by lookng at the LEDs on the Ethernet port. The orange LED will be lit briefly, then the green LED should light up to indicate a link to your router or modem, or flash to ndcate that data s beng transferred to or from your router or modem. If the green lght s not lt, check to make sure that the power adapter s plugged n and s recevng power, and that your router or modem s functonng properly. 5. Inserting the batteries Remove the battery cover from the handset by sldng the cover downwards. Insert the batteres n the drectons shown by the cons on the handset. Replace the battery cover and connect the phone to the base staton to charge the batteres. You should leave the phone on the charger for at least 14 hours to fully charge the batteres. Warning: Only use the ncluded rechargeable batteres or NMH 750mAh AAA batteres n the DHA-130 handset. Do not use alkaline or other types of rechargeable batteries, as they may leak or explode when the DHA-130 handset s placed on the base staton to charge. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual

Searching - Your phone s tryng to connect to the base staton. You cannot make D-Lfe or regular phone calls at ths tme. Please sign up d-life.com - Your phone s connected to the base staton and can reach the D-Lfe servce, but the phone has not been regstered yet. Please go to the www.d-lfe.com webste, create an account, and regster your DHA-130. D-Life - Your phone s connected to the D-Lfe servce and s ready for use. Check Network - Your phone s connected to the base staton, but cannot connect to the D-Lfe servce - check your connectons. You cannot make D-Lfe calls at ths tme, but you can make regular phone calls f your base staton s connected to a workng telephone lne and the orange PSTN lne LED s lt on the base staton. If you have problems connectng to D-Lfe servce, check your connectons. If you stll have problems connectng, you may need to set up your DHA-130 for a PPPoE or Statc IP connecton. Please refer to the DHA-130 User Manual for further assstance. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 16 Secton 2 - Installaton Setting up a static IP or PPPoE connection If your phone stll cannot connect to D-Lfe servce, you may need to set up the phone to use a statc IP or PPPoE connecton. Ths s requred f your Internet connecton does not support DHCP. Ths may be necessary f you do not use a router, and connect drectly to the nternet or through another port on an ADSL modem that requres you to log
nto your Internet servce. From the handset, press the left soft key to open the MENU. Select SYSTEM and press the left soft key. Select NETWORK SETTING and press the left soft key. DHCP s the default settng. Select Statc IP or PPPoE dependng on what you need to connect to your nternet servce. Static IP If your Internet connecton requres a statc IP, select STATIC IP and press the left soft key. Press the left soft key agan, to ndcate that you want to set the statc IP manually. Enter the settngs accordng to your Internet servce provder nstructons usng the keypad to enter the IP and the rght soft key to delete numbers. If you have to enter an IP number that has single digits (such as 193.0.0.1), use extra 0s to fill in the IP address (193.000.000.001). When you are finished, click Save Settings to save your changes. Note: The settngs shown are for llustraton purposes only. Consult your Internet servce provder for the approprate settngs to use. Fill in the settings according to your Internet service providers instructions. When you are finished, click Save Settings to save your changes. Basic handset controls To make a call, swtch to the lne you wsh to use wth the Mode button, then type n the number you wsh to call and press the Call button. You can also press the Call button first, then type
n the number you wsh to call. Pressng the Mode button swtches between your regular phone lne ( ) and your D-Lfe lne ( ). Regular phone lne - you can make phone calls over your regular phone lne lke you normally do. D-Lfe lne - you can call another D-Lfe user by enterng ther D-Lfe 8-dgt number. You can also call a regular phone number, ncludng long dstance or nternatonal numbers, by enterng t. Note that calls made to regular phone numbers wll use your D-Lfe credts accordng to the current D-Lfe Out rate.*

D-Life calling D-Life calls: D-Lfe calls are calls to other D-Lfe members. These calls are free, and can be made any tme, for as long as you want, no matter where the D-Lfe member s, allowng you to make free long dstance and nternatonal calls through D-Lfe servce. To make a D-Lfe call, swtch to ( ) mode, dal the 8-dgt D-Lfe number you want to call, and press the Call key. Switch to ( ) mode + (8-digit D-Life number) + Call key D-Life Out: D-Lfe Out calls are VoIP calls made to a regular PSTN phone number, such as a home or busness phone number, or to a moble phone. These calls use your D-Lfe credts accordng to the current D-Lfe Out rate, which you can find on the d-life.com website. To make a D-Life Out call, switch to ( ) mode, dal the number you wsh to call ncludng the country code and area code, and press the Call key. Switch to (
) mode + (+country code + area code + phone number) + Call key Examples: to make a D-Lfe call to 87654321, enter 87654321. to make a D-Lfe Out call to (123) 456-7890 n the US, enter +11234567890. Note: To enter a + symbol, hold the 0 key untl the + symbol appears. Note: You can also make calls by pressing the Call key first, then entering the number you wish to call. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 21 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Regular calling You can also make regular phone calls through your exstng phone lne wth the DHA-130. The DHA-130 gves you access to your phone lne just lke a tradtonal cordless phone. All charges and related fees for these calls are handled through your exstng phone servce. To make a regular phone call, swtch to ( ) mode, and dal the number you wsh to call as you would on a regular phone. Switch to ( ) mode + (Phone number) + Call key Note: You can also make calls by pressing the Call key first, then entering the number you wish to call. To redal the last number daled from your handset, press the Call button, then press the rght soft key to REDIAL the last call made from the handset. Redialing a call D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 22 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Receiving calls When your phone has an incoming call, it will ring and flash the Call LED at the top right of the handset. Depending on whether the ncomng call s a regular phone call or a D-Lfe call, the dsplay wll show [] to ndcate an ncomng D-Lfe call, or [p] to ndcate an ncomng call from your regular phone lne. The D-Lfe number or phone number of the
ncomng call wll also be dsplayed*. You can answer the call by pressng the Call key or the left soft key. You can slence the rnger by pressng the rght soft key. If you do not answer the call, t wll be logged n your MISSED CALLS list, and the Call LED will flash to let you know you have mssed a call. After checkng your MISSED CALLS list, the Call LED will stop flashing. You can turn off your ncomng call rnger for all calls by holdng the * key untl the slent mode con appears on your handset display. If your ringer is silenced, the handsets Call LED will flash and show the call information on the display. To turn off slent mode, press and hold the * key untl the slent mode con dsappears. Note: To dsplay the number of ncomng phone calls, your telephone servce must support Caller ID. Ths servce may not be ncluded wth your regular phone servce - check wth your servce provder for detals. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 23 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Durng a call, you can do the followng:
During a call Change Volume: You can ncrease or decrease the volume of the call by pressng the drectonal pad up or down. Mute: You can mute the mcrophone by pressng the rght soft key. You can unmute by pressng the rght soft key agan. Speakerphone: You can toggle the speakerphone functon of the handset on and off by pressng the left soft key to access the OPTIONS screen, then selectng SPEAKER. Hold Line: You can place the call on hold by pressng the left soft key to enter the OPTIONS menu, then selectng HOLD LINE. Whle on hold, the party on the other end of the call wll hear musc to let them know that they are on hold. If the call s on hold for more than one mnute, your handset wll gve you a callback rng to remnd you that you stll have an actve call. If the callback rng s not answered after 30 seconds, the call wll automatcally dsconnect. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 24 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Using the Phonebook You can store phone numbers n the bult-n phonebook by enterng them manually, or after dalng or recevng a call. To enter the phonebook, press the rght soft key (NAMES). Here, you can select from the handsets local phonebook and the D-Lfe phonebook. You can quckly access the handsets phonebook by pressng down on the drectonal pad, or you can access the D-Lfe phonebook by pressng up on the drectonal pad. The Handset phonebook s stored on the handset, s not shared wth any other handsets. The D-Lfe phonebook s managed on the d-lfe.com webste, and s shared wth other handsets connected to the same base staton. Select VIEW RECORD to vew entres n your phonebook. You can vew more nformaton about an entry by hghlghtng
t and pressng the left soft key to enter the DETAILS screen. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 25 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Using the Phonebook Select NEW ENTRY to create a new contact n your phonebook. Enter your contacts name, number, whether you wsh the number to be daled as a PSTN number or as a D-Lfe VoIP number, and what melody you want to play when that person calls you. If you want to always call a contact through D-Lfe servce, such as a long dstance or nternatonal number, mark the number as a VoIP number. Note: You can enter text by usng the keypad, pressng each key untl you reach the letter you wsh to enter. The 1 key adds a space, and the # key wll toggle between uppercase and lowercase letters. You can also enter other symbols, as shown by the tables below:

Secton 3 - Gettng Started Using call logs You can revew calls made to and from your DHA-130 Dual-Mode IP/DECT phone by checkng the call logs. Press the left soft key to enter the MENU, then select CALL LOG. Here, you can check MISSED calls, DIALED calls, or RECEIVED calls, or you can clear one of these logs by selectng CLEAR LOG and selectng whch call log you want to delete. From the man screen, you can also go drectly to the MISSED call log by pressng left on the drectonal keypad, and you can go drectly to the DIALED call log by pressng rght on the drectonal keypad. When vewng a call log, you can press the left soft key to vew further DETAILS about the call. Ths lets you see the tme and date of the call, and you can press the left soft key agan to open the OPTIONS menu, whch lets you SAVE the number to a new entry n your handset phonebook, or DELETE ths nformaton from the call log. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 27 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Paging your handset If you cannot find your handset, you can page your handset by pressing the Page button on the base station. This will ring all handsets registered to the base station, allowing you to easily find them. To stop paging the other handsets, press the left soft key on one of your handsets or press the Page button on the base staton agan. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 28 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Intercom calls If you have more than one handset regstered to your base staton, you can call another handset drectly. Ths s useful
f you want to talk to someone n another part of your home or buldng. To make an ntercom call, press the INT key at the bottom of your handset to open the INTERCOM menu. Select the handset you want to call, then press the left soft key to start the call. To end the call, press the end call key. A drect page to another handset wll allow you to broadcast your voce through the other handsets speakerphone wthout requrng someone to answer. When makng a drect page, you can talk to the user on the other handset, but the other handset wll not be able to talk to you. Press and hold the Drect Page button untl the DIRECT PAGE screen appears. Here, you can select whch handset you want to page when you press the Drect Page button. Now, whenever you press the Drect Page button from the man screen, you wll page the handset you selected for an ntercom call. Secton 3 - Gettng Started Setting the time and date To set the tme and date for the handset dsplay, press the left soft key to open the MENU, select SETTINGS, then select DATE AND TIME. Use the drectonal keypad to adjust the settngs, and then press the left soft key to save your changes or the rght soft key to cancel your changes. For the DATE FORMAT, note that you can also choose MMM/DD as a date format, whch wll dsplay the month as a three letter code. The DHA-130 also supports four-way conference by addng another handset connected to the same base staton. 3-way conference: Durng a call, press the left soft key to open the OPTIONS menu, and select HOLD CALL to hold your current call. Select your callng mode, dal the number of the other party you wsh to call, and press the call key. After connectng, press the left soft key to open the OPTIONS menu and select CONFERENCE to jon the calls together. Durng a conference call, you can press the left soft key to enter the OPTIONS menu, then end a specific call or end all calls. END CALL 1 will end the first call you connected to, and END CALL 2 wll end the second call you connected. 4-way conference: After settng up a 3-way call, you can add a handset to the conversaton by pressng the INT key, selectng the handset you want to call, then after the other party connects, pressng the left soft key to open the OPTIONS menu and selectng CONFERENCE. D-Lfe VoIP servce does not have emergency number access, so you must use your regular phone lne for emergency calls. Also note that
f you have a power outage, you wll not be able to use the DHA-130 for emergency calls. You can also store up to 20 emergency numbers that can be accessed quckly by pressng the Services button on the headset. Here, select VIEW and a lst of stored numbers wll appear. Here, you can enter a name and number for each entry, whch you can set for thngs lke the Polce Department, the Fre Department, or your local hosptal. Hghlghtng an entry and pressng the call key wll call that number. All calls made through ths SERVICES menu wll use your regular phone lne. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 35 Secton 3 - Gettng Started Extra functions The handset offers addtonal functons such as an alarm clock, a tmer, and a stopwatch. To access them, press the left soft key to open the MENU, then select EXTRAS. Alarm clock - selectng ALARM CLOCK wll let you set an alarm to wake you up or remnd you of an mportant event. Select ON to enable the alarm, then set the tme you want the alarm to go off usng the drectonal keypad. A small clock con wll appear at the bottom of your dsplay when the alarm s turned on. When the alarm rngs, press the rght soft key to STOP the alarm, or press the left soft key to SNOOZE the alarm for 10 mnutes. If you do not press any buttons for 1 mnute, the alarm wll automatcally snooze and rng agan after 10 mnutes. Timer - selectng TIMER wll let you set an alarm that wll go off after the amount of tme you select. Use the drectonal pad to select the duraton of the tmer, then press the left soft key to start the tmer. When the alarm goes off, press the rght soft key to stop the alarm. If you do not press any buttons for 1 mnute, the alarm wll turn off automatcally. You can also cancel the tmer by gong back to the TIMER menu, then pressng the left soft key to turn off the tmer. You can also sort the lst by Date/Time, the From number, the To number, the call Duration, or the call Amount by clckng on the text at the top of each column. You can also filter your list by selecting All Calls, Call Forwarding, or Call Out from the dropdown box at the top of the lst, as well as by date by selectng a month or All available records from the other dropdown box, then clckng View. Note: Call logs are stored on D-Lfes servers for 6 months before they are automatcally deleted. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 39 Secton 4 - D-Lfe Phonebook (D-Life) You can manage your handsets D-Lfe phonebook by clckng on the Phonebook tab. Here, you can see your lst of numbers n your D-Lfe phonebook. You can go through your lst of numbers by clckng on First, Previous, Next, or Last. You can sort the lst by Name by clckng on the word Name at the top of the column. To add numbers, clck on Add Number to open the followng screen. Here, enter a name and number for your contact, then clck Save. If you are enterng an 8-dgt D-Lfe number for your contact, smply enter the 8-dgt number. If you are enterng a regular phone number, enter the complete phone number wth country code and area code. For example, to call +1-(234) 456-7890, enter
+1234567890 as the phone number. Note: All numbers n your D-Lfe phonebook wll be daled through D-Lfe servce. If you enter a normal phone number, t wll be daled through D-Lfe Out and wll use your D-Lfe credts. Note: The D-Lfe phonebook has a 100 number maxmum. D-Lnk DHA-130 User Manual 40 Secton 4 - D-Lfe Call Forwarding You can set your DHA-130 to forward ncomng calls to up to 3 dfferent phone numbers. You can forward calls to another D-Lfe number or to a regular phone number. To forward ncomng calls to a phone number, enter a number n one of the text boxes below and tck the checkbox next to t. To dsable call forwardng, untck all the checkboxes. You can temporarly dsable call forwarding to a specific number by unticking the checkbox next to the number. Note: Calls forwarded to a regular phone number are made through D-Lfe Out servce, and use your D-Lfe credts. If you have addtonal base statons n your home, unplug them whle regsterng your handset to your man base staton. To regster your handset wth a base staton, hold down the page button on your base staton for 5 seconds, after whch the PSTN and VoIP LEDs will flash alternately. Press the left soft key to open the MENU, select BASE SETUP, then select REGISTER. Pck a base number to assgn the new base staton to, then enter the PIN number of the base staton you wsh to use (the default s 0000). The handset wll then regster tself to the base. The handsets number wll appear at the top rght of your dsplay under the battery lfe con. Selecting a base - If you have multple base statons regstered to the same handset, you can change whch base to use wth the handset by selectng SELECT BASE, then selectng whch base you want to use. Deleting your handset - To remove another handset from a base, select SELECT BASE, then select the handset you wsh to delete from the base staton. You cannot delete the handset you are currently usng. Reset - Selectng RESET resets the base statons settngs to the factory default. To reset your base statons settngs, select RESET, then enter your base statons PIN number(0000 by default). Change PIN - You can change the PIN number of your base staton by selectng CHANGE PIN, enterng the old PIN number (0000 by default), entering the new PIN number, then entering the new PIN number again for verification.
