AssemblingthedigitalBBQthermometer 1. Check whether the package contents are complete and that the parts of the barbecue thermometerareundamaged. 2. Sortallpartsofthebarbecuethermometerasindicatedonthefoldoutpageoftheassembly instructions. 3. Takethereceiver,openthecoverofthebatterycompartmentandinsert2xAAAbatteriesin thebatterycompartmentwiththeindicatedpolarity. 4. Closethebatterycompartmentandswitchthereceiveronwiththeswitch(ON).Oncethe indicatorappearsonthedisplayofthereceiver,thereceiverisoperational. 5. Takethebaseunitandopenthebatterycompartmentonthebottomofit.Insert2xAAA batteriesinthebatterycompartmentwiththeindicatedpolarity. 6. Closethebatterycompartmentandswitchthebaseunitonwiththeswitch(POWERON). 7. Takethetemperaturesensorandinserttheplugattheendofthetransmissioncableinthe jackofthebaseunit. Thepowerindicatoronthebaseunitwillilluminate. Thebarbecuethermometerisnowoperational. 8. Push various buttons to test whether all functions of the barbecue thermometer are accessible. 9. Switchthereceiverandthebaseunitbackoff.Affixtheenclosedfasteningclipforattaching ittoclothing(bag,belt)tothereceiverandaffixtheenclosedVelcrostriptothebaseunitto attachittotheplaceofuse(barbecue). Assoonasthebaseunithasbeenswitchedonandthetemperaturesensorisconnectedwiththe baseunit,thecurrenttemperaturewillappearasCURRENTTEMPonthedisplayofthereceiver. Ifnocurrenttemperatureisshown,checkwhethertheconnectorplugofthetemperaturesensor hasbeencorrectlyinsertedinthejackofthebaseunit. Operation Prepare the digital BBQ thermometer in accordance with the instructions for firsttime use. Switchthereceiverandthebaseunitonandconnectthetemperaturesensortothebaseunit. Makesurethatthetipofthetemperaturesensorisnotincontactwithbones,cartilageorfat. Thebarbecuethermometerhaspresettargettemperaturesdependingontheselectedtypeof foodandcookinglevel. 1. On the receiver, select the food type with the MEAT/STOP button. Push the MEAT/STOP buttonuntilthedesiredfoodtypeappearsonthedisplay. 2. On the receiver, set the desired cooking lever with the TASTE/START button. Push the TASTE/STARTbuttonuntilthedesiredcookinglevelappearsonthedisplay. NOTICE!
ThepresettargettemperatureisshownonthedisplayastheTARGETTEMP. 3. Sensorinthethickestpartofthefoodwhosetemperatureyouwouldliketomonitor.Insert thetipofthetemperaturesensorinthesideofthefoodsothatyoucanturnthefoodwhile barbecuingit. 4. UsetheVelcrostriptosecurethebaseunitnearthepieceoffood. 5. Runthecableofthetemperaturesensorawayfromthefood.Keepthebaseunitawayfrom hotsurfaces. 6. Usethecliptosecurethereceivernearthebarbecueforeasyviewingorattachthereceiver toyourclothing(beltorapron,trouserorshirtpocket). 7. As soon as you have placed the food on the barbecue, it will start monitoring the temperatureviathetemperaturesensorinsertedinthefood.Afterashorttime,thecurrent temperatureofthefoodwillappearasCURRENTTEMPonthedisplayofthereceiver.The CURRENT TEMP will steadily increase the longer the food is barbecued until the target temperaturehasbeenreached. 8. Thedisplayindicatorwillswitchtothealarmfunctionwhenthecurrenttemperaturereach 15 fromtargettemperature(e.g.45 whentargettemperatureis60),thedisplaywill turn yellow and flash. Additionally, the beep sound will work and repeat 3 times automatically(eachtime2seconds)toreminduserthattargettemperatureisarrivedsoon. 9. Whenthetemperaturereachesthetargettemperature,thedisplayindicatorwillswitchto thealarmfunctionagainwithredbacklightandflash.Atthesametime,thebeepsoundwill worksteadilyaround120seconds,oryoucanstopitbypressingMEAT/STOPbutton.Thenit willendthemeasurementprocessforthefoodbeingmonitoredbythetemperaturesensor. Timerfunction Ifyoufeelthatfoodisnotquitecookedtoperfectionofwouldliketocookitsomemore,youcan usethetimerfunctionofthereceiver. 1. Onthereceiver,pushtheMODEbuttontoselectthetimerfunction. 2. Thedisplayindicatorwillswitchtothetimerfunctionwithchoicefortheminutes(M)and seconds(S).YoucansetthedesiredcookingtimebypushingtheMIN/+buttonand/orthe SEC/buttononthereceiver. 3. PushtheTASTE/STARTbuttontostartthetimerfunction.Thetimerindicatoronthedisplay willindicatetheremainingtimeforthetemperaturemeasurement. 4. PushtheMEAT/STOPbuttontointerruptthetimerfunction.Forexampletocheckhowwell cookedthefoodis.Thenthetimerfunctionispaused,longpressingMEAT/STOPbuttoncan resetthetimer. 5. PushtheTASTE/STARTbuttontorestartthetimerfunctionagain.Thetimerfunctionwillnot endwhenyouusetheMODEbuttontoswitchbacktothedisplaywiththeselectfunctions. YoucanstopthetimerfunctionwiththeSTOPbutton. 6. When the timer runs out, the display indicator will switch to the alarm function with red backlightandflash.Atthesametime,thebeepsoundwillworksteadilyaround120seconds, oryoucanstopitbypressingMEAT/STOPbutton. Selectingthetargettemperature The digital BBQ thermometer reliably helps you to achieve convincing cooking results. If you preferindividualcookingresults,youcanincreaseordecreasethecookingtimebyselectingthe targettemperaturemanually. 1. On the receiver, push and hold the MODE button to select the MODE button until the TARGETTEMPindicatorstartstoflashonthedisplay. 2. Now push the MIN/+ button or SEC/ button until you have reached the desired target temperature.ThenyoucanstartBBQsameasaboveprocess. 3.
