l Band Supported: 850 MHz/1800 MHz/2100 MHz/2600 MHz;
l Support 2T4R (S8500/S1800/S2100/S2600) in one box which can optimize spectrum efficiency greatly and improve network uplink performance;
l Support 64QAM modulation in both downlink and uplink;
l Support transmit power report function for every carrier;
l Support overload protection function for power amplifier;
l Support transmit channel switching on/off function;
l Software failure will not affect the running of BBU and other ones which are connected to it. 1.3 Features l Multi-Mode RRU ZXSDR R8862A is fully software defined. GSM/UMTS/CDMA RRU based on ZXSDR R8862A platform can be upgraded to LTE RRU at the same frequency band through software update only. It supports multi-mode at the same frequency band simultaneously. Therefore, it fully satisfies operators requirements of hybrid network deployment and long term evolution with lowest cost. l Wider Bandwidth ZXSDR R8862A is based on Multi-Carrier Power Amplifier (MCPA) technology. l MIMO Supported, Better Performance ZXSDR R8862A is based on new compacted RRU platform and high efficiency Power Amplifier technology. As a result, it brings better customer experience, zero footprint and easy deployment. It is portable to transport and flexible to install on the pole, tower and wall, thus reducing OPEX. l Higher Efficiency, Lower TCO ZXSDR R8862As PA efficiency can reach up to 45% (The PA efficiency is different based on different working frequency bands). It supports dynamic adaptive PA power supply due to the output power, which reduces power consumption. It is passive thermal dissipation designed, so it is power saving and less noisy. l Integrated lightning protection unit ZXSDR R8862A supports integrated Lightning protection unit (PIB), and the protection level is 20 kA. Table 2-1 ZXSDR R8862A Module Descriptions Module Power Module Transceiver Power Amplifier Duplexer Description The power module supplies power and provides EMC protection. The transceiver provides digital IF, RF transmitting and receiving, main control, clock control and power amplifier control. This module, integrated with a low-noise amplifier, amplifies downlink RF signals and sends the amplified signals to the duplexer. This module combines a filter and two duplexers implementing Rx diversity. Figure 2-2 ZXSDR R8862A Software Architecture A Linux operating system runs on the hardware platform of the ZXSDR R8862A.The BSP (Board Support Package) contains a suite of software closely related to boards, which support the running of the RTOS (Realtime Operating System) on the boards. The operation support layer of the software system provides the following functions:
l The OSS (Operation Support Sub-system) serves as the support layer of the entire software architecture. It provides a hardware-irrelevant platform on which the software runs to provide basic functions, such as scheduling, timing, memory management, inter-module communication, queue control, monitoring, alarm management, and log management. l The SCS (System Control Sub-system) controls the power supply and active/standby switchover. l OAM (Operating and Maintenance) supports configuration management, alarm management, and performance measurement. l The DBS (Data Base Sub-system) stores and manages data in the system. l The BRS (Barrier Sub-system) processes protocols for the system. l The BRACS (Barrier Access Control Sub-system) controls access to the bearer layer. The EMS connects to the BBU to which the ZXSDR R8862A is connected through a CPRI interface, see Figure 3-1. Figure 3-1 Remote Operation and Maintenance In remote operation and maintenance mode, the EMS connects to an NE through TCP/IP. The EMS can be used to operate and maintain multiple base stations. Local Operation and Maintenance In local operation and maintenance mode, an LMT (PC) is connected to the ZXSDR R8862A with an Ethernet cable, see Figure 3-2. It supports basic operations on the base station, such as power query, power increase and decrease, and calibration. 3.2 Operation and Maintenance Functions The NetNumen U31 Unified Element Management System (EMS) provides a GUI that displays information of all NEs in the entire network on a topology map. A user can view performance data, alarm information, and configuration data of a specific NE, and operate and maintain multiple NEs of the same type on the topology map. NetNumen U31 has the following operation and maintenance functions:
l Configuration management The configuration management supports dynamic and static configurations of base stations, such as the addition, query, deletion, modification, and data consistency check of physical and radio resources. l Security management The security management ensures that only authorized users can perform permitted operations on base stations. l Performance management The performance management supports performance analysis, calling trace, and signaling trace. l Version management The version management allows users to view hardware and software versions in base stations and download latest versions for software upgrade. l Fault management The fault management includes alarm management and diagnostic tests. By using the fault management functions, maintenance personnel can monitor the operational statuses of base stations and collect the information of board and link faults in real time for fault analysis and equipment maintenance. Ceci amliore l'efficacit du spectre de frquence, la performance rseau pour les liaisons montantes, et fournit une excellente exprience aux utilisateurs. l Cot faible et haut rendement Le rendement de lamplificateur de puissance du ZXSDR R8862A peut atteindre jusqu 45%. Le produit ZXSDR R8862A prend en charge une alimentation lectrique dynamique sur dtection automatique par les amplificateurs de puissance, en se basant sur la puissance de sortie. Ceci permet de rduire la consommation lectrique globale. La dissipation thermique naturelle favorise par le produit ZXSDR R8862A contribue la faible consommation lectrique et un bruit quasi-inexistant (zro bruit). l Module intgr de protection contre la foudre Le produit ZXSDR R8862A comprend un module intgr de protection contre la foudre muni dun degr de protection de 20 kA. Module dmetteur-rcepteur Module damplificateur de puissance Emet et reoit les frquences numriques intermdiaires et frquences radio; contrle les horloges, le systme dalimentation lectrique et les amplificateurs de puissance. L'amplificateur de puissance amplifie les signaux RF
(radiofrquence) des liaisons descendantes et transmet ces signaux RF au duplexeur. Il implmente galement la fonction damplificateur faible bruit (LNA). Module de filtre-duplexeur Ce module est compos de deux duplexeurs et un filtre. Le progiciel de support de cartes (BSP, Board Support Package) est un ensemble de logiciels troitement lis au matriel des cartes, et prend en charge le systme d'exploitation en temps rel (RTOS, Real-Time Operating System) pour fonctionner sur les cartes. La couche de prise en charge dexploitation fournit les fonctions suivantes: sous-systme de prise en charge dexploitation (OSS, Operation Support Subsystem), sous-systme de contrle du systme (SCS, Systeme Control Subsystem)), exploitation et maintenance
(OAM, Operation and Maintenance), sous-systme de base de donnes (DBS, Database subsystem), sous-systme de support (BRS, Bearer Subsystem), et sous-systme de contrle d'accs de support (BRACS, Bearer Access Control Subsystem). l Le sous-systme OSS est la couche de support de l'ensemble de larchitecture logicielle. Il fournit une plate-forme indpendante du matriel pour lensemble de larchitecture logicielle. Il fournit galement des fonctions de base logicielle telles que la planification, les horloges systme, la gestion de la mmoire, la communication entre modules, le contrle des squences, la surveillance, le rapport des alarmes, et la journalisation des donnes. l Le sous-systme SCS contrle lalimentation lectrique et la commutation entre les systmes dalimentation lectriques actif et passif. l Le sous-systme dexploitation et de maintenance (OAM) fournit les fonctions de gestion des configurations, gestion dalarmes, et de mesure des performances. l Le sous-systme de base de donnes (DBS) assure le stockage et la gestion des donnes du systme. l Le sous-systme de support (BRS) assure le traitement de la pile de protocoles. l Le sous-systme de contrle d'accs de support (BRACS) contrle l'accs la couche de support. The ZXSDR R8862A and a BBU form a complete base station, implementing radio transmission in the coverage area and controlling radio channels. l Supporting the LTE configuration of 1.4 MHz/3 MHz/5 MHz/10 MHz/15 MHz/20 MHz scalable bandwidth l Supporting the UMTS configuration of 5 MHz/4.8 MHz/4.6 MHz/4.4 MHz/4.2 MHz channel interval of each carrier l Operating frequency bands: AP700 MHz, 850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, and 2600 MHz SJ-20150203110107-040|2015-09-15 (R1.1) ZTE Proprietary and Confidential 1-1 ZXSDR R8862A Product Description l Supporting 2T4R(S7200/S8500/S1800/S2100/S2600) in one box which can optimize spectrum efficiency greatly and improve network uplink performance l LTE uplink and downlink 64QAM modulation l Transmit power reporting of each carrier l Load protection for the Power Amplifier (PA) l Transmit channel switching on and off l RRU power consumption reporting l Energy saving (dynamic voltage adjustment and symbol shutdown) l Immune to software faults when cascaded to the software 1.2 Product Features l Small size for easy installation and deployment The small size facilitates the transportation and installation and decreases the load-bearing requirement and operating expense when it is installed on a pole, tower, or wall. l Multimode RRU The RRU is based on common ZTE compacted RRU platform, and can work in GSM, CDMA, UMTS or LTE single mode or Multi-Mode at the same frequency band. l Multiple transmitting channels and multiple receiving channels The ZXSDR R8862A supports two transmitting channels and four receiving channels, improving the spectral efficiency and uplink network performance and offering better user experience. l Low cost and high efficiency The PA efficiency of the ZXSDR R8862A can be up to 45%. The ZXSDR R8862A supports a dynamic auto-sensing PA power supply based on the output power, reducing the overall power consumption. Natural heat dissipation of the ZXSDR R8862A contributes to quite low power consumption and zero noise. l Integrated lightning protection module The ZXSDR R8862A has an integrated lightning protection module with the protection level of 20 kA. Figure 2-2 shows the logical structure of the ZXSDR R8862A. Table 2-1 ZXSDR R8862A Module Description Module Power supply Transceiver Power amplifier Diplexer filter Function Outputs power and protects the power supply equipment. Transceives the digital intermediate frequency and radio frequency, and controls the clocks, power supply, and power amplifier. Amplifies the downlink RF signals, outputs the RF signals to the duplexer, and integrates the low-noise amplifier. Consists of two duplexers and one filter, implementing the receive diversity function. 2.3 Software Architecture Figure 2-3 shows the software architecture of the ZXSDR R8862A. The Board Support Package (BSP) is a set of software closely related to board hardware and supports the RealTime Operating System (RTOS) to operate on boards. The operating support layer provides the following functions: OSS, SCS, OAM, DBS, BRS, and BRACS. l As a support layer of the entire software subsystem, the Operation Support Sub-system (OSS) provides a hardware-independent platform for the entire software It also provides some basic software functions, including scheduling, architecture. timers, memory management, inter-module communication, sequence control, monitoring, alarm reporting, and logging. l The System Control Sub-system (SCS) controls the power supply and the switchover between active and standby power supplies. l The Operating And Maintenance subsystem (OAM) provides the configuration, alarm management, and performance measurement functions. l The Data Base Sub-system (DBS) stores and manages system data. l The Barrier Sub-system (BRS) is used for protocol stack processing. l The Barrier Access Control Sub-system (BRACS) controls access to the bearer layer. Figure 3-1 shows a diagram of remote operation and maintenance. Figure 3-1 Remote Operation and Maintenance In remote maintenance mode, the NetNumen U31 system is connected to NEs through the TCP/IP protocol. One NetNumen U31 system can maintain multiple base stations at the same time. Local Maintenance The Local Maintenance Terminal (LMT), which is installed on a PC, is connected to the ZXSDR R8862A through an Ethernet cable for local operation and maintenance. Figure 3-2 shows a diagram of local operation and maintenance.
