up to 5 fingerprints and use them to unlock the phone or open a bound app when the screen is off or locked. You can also use swipe functions. Camera Features Macro camera: Shoot close-ups of the subjects, such as flowers, insects, and small items. AI scene recognition: AI scene recognition can automatically adjust the color and lighting settings to match the scene or subject. For example, if you are taking a picture of flowers, it will choose the best color for flowers and the picture will be more vivid. Refocus: Take a photo with the subject in focus and the background blurred. After the picture is taken, you can touch anywhere on the picture to refocus or adjust the blurriness with the Gallery app. Pro mode: Adjust more camera options for your photo such as ISO, white balance, exposure, etc. Qr code: Read the QR code in the viewfinder screen or open a picture and scan the QR code in it. 10 Nearby Share You can use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to share files with other devices near your phone. You can use virtual keys or gestures to navigate your phone. See Setting the Navigation Style. Setting Up Your Phone The nano-SIM card can be installed or removed while the phone is turned on. WARNING!

To avoid damage to the phone, do not use any other kind of SIM cards, or any non-standard nano-SIM card cut from a SIM card. You can get a standard nano-SIM card from your service provider. 14 1. Insert the tip of the tray eject tool into the hole on the card tray. CAUTION:

Never replace the included tray eject tool with sharp objects. Ensure that the tray eject tool is perpendicular to the hole. Otherwise, the phone may be damaged. 15 2. Pull out the card tray and place a nano-SIM card and a microSDXC card (optional) on the tray, as shown. Carefully slide the tray back into place. microSDXC card nano-SIM card Charging the Phone Your phones battery should have enough power for the phone to turn on, find a signal, and make a few calls. You should fully charge the battery as soon as possible. WARNING!

Use only ZTE-approved chargers and USB cables. The use of unapproved accessories could damage your phone or cause the battery to explode. 16 WARNING!

Do not remove the back cover. The battery is not removable. Removal may cause fire or explosion. 1. Connect the adapter to the charging jack. Ensure that the adapter is inserted in the correct direction. 2. Connect the charger to a standard AC power outlet. If the phone is on, youll see a charging icon, such as appear on the status bar. or

, 3. Disconnect the charger when the battery is fully charged. 17 NOTE:

If the battery is extremely low, you may be unable to power on the phone even when it is being charged. In this case, try again after charging the phone for at least 20 minutes. Contact the customer service if you still cannot power on the phone after prolonged charging. Powering On/Off Press and hold the Power key to turn on your phone. To power off, press and hold the Power key until the options menu appears and then touch

If the screen freezes or takes too long to respond, try pressing and holding the Power key for over 10 seconds to restart the phone. Setting Up for the First Time When you first power on your phone after you purchase it or reset it to factory settings, you need to do some settings before using it. Select the language and follow the on-screen prompts to set up your phone. 18 Locking/Unlocking the Screen and Keys Your phone allows you to quickly lock the screen and keys (put the phone to sleep mode) when not in use and to turn the screen back on and unlock it when you need it. To lock the screen and keys:

To quickly turn the screen off and lock the keys, press the Power key. NOTE:

To save battery power, the phone automatically turns off the screen after some time of inactivity. You will still be able to receive messages and calls while the phone screen is off. To unlock the screen and keys:

1. Press the Power key to turn the screen on. 2. Swipe up on the screen. to open the camera. Touch a notification twice consecutively to open the related app.

If you have set a fingerprint, an unlock pattern, a PIN or a password for your phone (see Using Your Fingerprint and 19 Protecting Your Phone With Screen Locks), youll need to use your fingerprint, draw the pattern, or enter the PIN/password to unlock your screen. Getting to Know the Home Screen The home screen is the starting point for your phones applications, functions, and menus. You can customize your home screen by adding shortcuts and folders. Extended Home Screen Panels Your home screen is extendable, providing more space for shortcuts and folders. Simply swipe left or right on the home screen to see the extended panels. You can add or remove home screen panels. To add a new home screen panel:

Touch and hold an item such as a shortcut or folder on the home screen and drag it to the right edge of the screen to create a new home screen panel and put the item on it. NOTE:

No empty home screen panel is allowed to exist. If the shortcut or folder is the only item on the current home screen panel, the panel will be deleted as you remove the item. 20 Personalizing Setting the Navigation Style You can set the navigation style as virtual navigation or gesture navigation. Use Virtual Navigation To enable virtual navigation:

1. Open Settings and touch Features > System navigation. 2. Select Virtual navigation. NOTE:

Touch beside Virtual navigation to change the navigation key layout, or turn on or off the concealable navigation bar. To hide the navigation bar, switch off Always show navigation bar and touch bar again, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. on the navigation bar. Swipe up from the bottom left or bottom right of your screen to activate the Google Assistant. Changing the System Language 1. Open Settings and touch System > Languages & input >

> Remove and select Switching to Vibration or Silent Mode You can set the phone to vibration or silent mode by using one of the following methods. Press the Volume key up or down and then touch the icon above the slider to switch the phone to vibration or silent mode or turn on the sound. Press the Volume up key and the Power key at the same time to switch to silent mode or vibration mode. NOTE:

You can select to switch to silent or vibration mode by opening Settings > Sound > Switch to vibrate/silent and choosing Mute or Vibrate. Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and drag the panel downwards. Touch Ring, Vibrate, or Silent to switch the phone to vibration or silent mode or turn on the sound. 23 Open Settings and touch Sound > Advanced > Notification mode, and then select Vibrate or Mute to switch to vibration or silent mode. Using Do Not Disturb Mode You can limit interruptions with Do Not Disturb mode. This mode can mute sound, stop vibration, and block visual disturbances. You can pick what to block and what to allow. Turn On or Off Do Not Disturb Mode 1. Open Settings and touch Sound > Do Not Disturb. 2. Touch TURN ON NOW or TURN OFF NOW. Set the Exceptions for Do Not Disturb Mode 1. Open Settings and touch Sound > Do Not Disturb. 2. Select the following options and choose what to allow. People: Allow calls, messages, or conversations. Apps: Choose which apps can send you notifications. Alarms & other interruptions: Allow alarms, media sounds, touch sounds, reminders, or calendar events. Set an Automatic Schedule You can set automatic schedules to activate Do Not Disturb mode for specific times or events. 1. Open Settings and touch Sound > Do Not Disturb >

Schedules. 24 2. Touch an existing schedule to turn it on or off, or touch next to the schedule to customize it.

Touch Add more to create your own schedules. Set How Long Do Not Disturb Mode Lasts 1. Open Settings and touch Sound > Do Not Disturb >

Advanced > Duration for Quick Settings. 2. Set how long Do Not Disturb mode will stay on when you turn it on. Choose Settings for Hidden Notifications 1. Open Settings and touch Sound > Do Not Disturb >

Advanced > Display options for hidden notifications. 2. Set notification behavior in Do Not Disturb mode. You can block sound or visuals from notifications, or customize more restrictions. Choosing Your Wallpaper You can set the wallpaper for the home screen or lock screen. 1. Touch and hold an empty place on the home screen and then touch Wallpapers. 2. Select a preset wallpaper, or touch GALLERY to select a picture and pan and zoom on it to select the area for the wallpaper. 3. Touch SET AS and choose where the wallpaper should be 25 used. NOTE:

Using Dark Theme When Dark theme is enabled, your phone will turn the screen to dark with white text on a black background, relieving eye irritation caused by screen glare at night. 1. Open Settings and touch Display > Dark theme. 2. Touch TURN ON NOW to enable Dark theme. If you want to set a schedule when Dark theme will be turned on automatically, touch Schedule and set the start and end time. Not all apps support Dark theme. Using Night Light You can enable Night Light to tint the screen amber and reduce the intensity of bright colors for eye protection, or set a schedule when Night Light will be turned on. 1. Open Settings and touch Display > Night Light. 2. Touch TURN ON NOW to enable Night Light. 26

If you want to set a schedule when Night Light will be turned on automatically, touch Schedule and set the start and end time. 3. Drag the slider below Intensity to adjust the eye protection effect when Night Light is on. 27 Knowing the Basics Phone Status Icons The status bar at the top of the home screen provides phone and service status icons on the right side. Below are some of the icons you may see. Below are some of the icons you may see. New message(s) from the Messages app Missed call New Wi-Fi network detected microSDXC card mounted Call in progress Call on hold Using Quick Settings The Quick Settings make it convenient to view or change the most common settings for your phone. Swipe down from the status bar and drag the notification panel downwards to open the Quick Settings panel. To turn on or off settings quickly:

1. Open the Quick Settings panel. 2. To turn on or off a setting, touch its tile. Touch and hold certain tiles to access more setting options. For example, touch and hold the Wi-Fi tile to open Wi-Fi settings. To customize the Quick Settings panel:

You can add, remove or rearrange the tiles on the Quick Settings panel. 29 1. Open the Quick Settings panel. 2. Touch at the bottom and do one of the following. Touch and hold a tile and drag it to the position you want. Touch and hold a tile and drag it to the section below to hide it. In the HOLD AND DRAG TO ADD TILES section, drag a tile up to show it in the Quick Settings panel. Opening and Switching Apps Open an App 1. Swipe up on the home screen to view apps. 2. Slide up or down on the screen and touch an app to open it. NOTE:

Drag the slider on the right side of the screen to the initial letter of the app you need, or touch the search box at the top to search for apps. Switch Between Recently Opened Apps 1. Open the recent apps list. The apps youve used recently are displayed in a series of cards. Slide left and right to see all the cards. NOTE:

To view how to see recently used apps in different navigation styles, see Setting the Navigation Style. 30 2. Touch a card to open that app. NOTE:

You can swipe a card up to remove it from the screen, which will free up running memory on the phone. 31 Security Protecting Your Phone With Screen Locks You can protect your phone by creating a screen lock. When it is enabled, you need to swipe up on the screen, draw a pattern or enter a numeric PIN or password to unlock the phones screen and keys. 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Screen lock. 2. Touch None, Swipe, Pattern, PIN or Password. Touch None to disable the screen lock. Touch Swipe to enable screen lock and allow unlocking with a swipe gesture. You can unlock the screen by touching the display and sliding up. Touch Pattern to create a pattern that you must draw to unlock the screen. Touch PIN or Password to set a numeric PIN or a password that you must enter to unlock the screen. 3. For Pattern, PIN, or Password lock, select how you want notifications and their contents to show when the phone is locked. Then touch Done. CAUTION:

Remember the pattern, PIN or password you set. Otherwise, you will have to contact the customer service to reflash the phone 32 software to use your phone, and all data in your phone will be erased. Using Your Fingerprint With the fingerprint sensor on the back of your phone, you can register up to 5 fingerprints and use them to unlock the phone, or open a bound app when the screen is off or locked. You can also use swipe functions. NOTES:

The fingerprint feature is usable only when a screen lock

(Pattern, PIN, or Password) is enabled. When the screen lock is reset to None or Swipe, all registered fingerprints are erased. If you restart your phone, you need to enter the screen lock pattern, PIN or password you set to unlock the screen for the first time. Register a Fingerprint 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Fingerprint >

Fingerprint management. 2. Enter the screen lock pattern, PIN or password you set. If you havent set a screen lock, follow the prompts to set it. 3. Touch REGISTER or Add fingerprint. 4. Follow the prompts to record the centre and the edges of a finger. 5. Touch OK. 33 NOTE:

Touch an existing fingerprint record to rename or delete it. Set Fingerprint Functions 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Fingerprint >

Fingerprint management. 2. Enter the screen lock pattern, PIN or password you set. 3. You can set the following options. Wake up and unlock your phone: Unlock the phone with a registered fingerprint when the screen is off or locked. Simple touch: When the screen is off or locked, you can quickly open a selected app with a registered fingerprint. Each registered fingerprint can be assigned to a different app. Set Swipe Functions 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Fingerprint. 2. You can set the following options, for which no fingerprint verification is needed. View notification drawer: Swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to open the notification panel; swipe up to close it. View recent apps: When viewing the home screen, swipe up on the fingerprint sensor for recent apps. 34 Protecting Your Phone With App Pinning You can pin an app's screen to keep it in view until you unpin it. This feature can be used, for example, to let a trusted friend play a specific game. NOTE:

When an app is pinned, the pinned app may open other apps and your personal data may be accessible. Turn On App Pinning 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Advanced > App pinning. 2. Touch the On/Off switch. 3. Read the on-screen prompts and touch OK. 4. To add security for unpinning, switch on Lock device when unpinning and set up a screen lock with or without fingerprint as prompted, or switch on Ask for unlock pattern/PIN/

password before unpinning if youve set a screen lock already. Pin a Screen 1. Ensure that app pinning is turned on. 2. Open the recent apps list. If the app you want to keep in view is not in recent apps, open it first. 35 3. Swipe left and right to find the app card. Then touch at the top of the card and select Pin. Unpin the Screen 1. > Reset to default. Connecting to Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is a wireless networking technology that can provide Internet access at distances of up to 100 meters, depending on the Wi-Fi router and your surroundings. To turn Wi-Fi on and connect to a Wi-Fi network:

1. Open Settings and touch Network & internet > Wi-Fi. 2. Slide the switch to the on position to turn on Wi-Fi. 3. Touch a Wi-Fi network name to connect to it. 4. If the network is secured, enter the password and touch CONNECT. NOTES:

Your phone automatically connects to previously used Wi-Fi networks when they are in range. Your phone can automatically use mobile data network when the Wi-Fi signal is weak. To use this feature, touch Wi-Fi preferences below the network list in the Wi-Fi screen and switch on Auto-switch to mobile network. Additional charges may occur. 38 Connecting to Devices Connecting to Bluetooth Devices Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology. Phones or other devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information wirelessly within a distance of a few meters. The Bluetooth devices must be paired before the communication is performed. 1. Open Settings and touch Connected devices. 2. Touch Pair new device. Your phone automatically scans for and displays the IDs of all available Bluetooth devices in range. 3. Touch the device you want to pair with. 4. If necessary, confirm that the Bluetooth passkeys are the same between the two devices and touch PAIR. Alternatively, enter a Bluetooth passkey and touch PAIR. Pairing is successfully completed when the other device accepts the connection or the same passkey is entered. NOTE:

The Bluetooth passkey may be fixed for certain devices, such as headsets and hands-free car kits. You can try entering 0000 or 1234 (the most common passkeys), or refer to the documents for that device. 39 Connecting to Your Computer via USB You can connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable and transfer music, pictures, and other files in both directions. Your phone stores these files in the phone storage or on a removable microSDXC card. If you are using USB tethering, you must turn that off before you can use USB to transfer files between your phone and computer. Connect Your Phone to a Computer via USB 1. Connect your phone to the computer with a USB cable. 2. The Use USB for options menu will automatically open, and you can choose one of the following options. File Transfer: Transfer files on Windows PC or Mac. PTP: Transfer photos or files if File Transfer is not supported by your computer. Charge this device: Charge your phone via USB. Install driver: Install the driver needed for some USB connection modes (such as File Transfer). You only need to install the driver on the same PC once. NOTE:

You can also install the driver on PC by running the executable file in the new CD-ROM drive. Disconnect Your Phone From the Computer To disconnect the phone from the computer, simply unplug the 40 USB cable when youre finished. Sharing Files With Nearby Devices With Nearby Share, you can share photos, videos, and documents with nearby devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Turn Sharing On or Off 1. On your phone, make sure Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Location are turned on. See Connecting to Bluetooth Devices, Connecting to Wi-Fi and Location. 2. Open Settings and touch Connected devices >

You can connect the phone and a USB peripheral device (such as a USB flash drive, a USB mouse, or a USB keyboard) with an OTG adapter. For example, when you connect the phone with a USB flash drive, you can browse the files on the flash drive; connect the phone with a USB mouse and you can navigate the phone with the mouse. NOTE:

To safely remove a connected USB storage device (such as a USB flash drive), open Settings, touch Storage and find the name of the device. Then touch next to it. 43 Sharing Your Mobile Data Connection Through Tethering You can use tethering to share your phones Internet connection with a computer that connects to your phone via USB cable or by Bluetooth. Storage Open Settings and touch Storage to view the memory information of the internal phone storage and the microSDXC card (if one is installed). Saving location: When a microSDXC card is installed, you can select Phone or SD card as the default location for new data. Internal shared storage: Get a detailed breakdown of space usage by type. PORTABLE STORAGE: Safely mount, unmount (eject), and format your microSDXC card. If you need to store large applications, games, and their data in your microSDXC card, you can format the card and use it as part of the device storage. When you connect a USB storage device (such as a USB flash) to your phone with an OTG adapter, you can view its storage status, unmount it, or erase all data on it. Google Play Protect: Google Play Protect regularly checks your apps and phone for harmful behaviour and warns you about any detected potential harm. Security update: Check for security update of your system. Find My Device: Use Find My Device to locate, lock, or wipe your lost device remotely. The lost device must be signed in to a Google account. Screen lock: Disable the screen lock or enable it with swipe, pattern, PIN, or password. See Protecting Your Phone With Screen Locks. Touch beside Screen lock to set its options. Fingerprint: Set up to 5 fingerprints and enable them to unlock the phone or quickly open a selected app. Enable the swipe functions of the fingerprint sensor. See Using Your Fingerprint. Smart Lock: Keep the phone unlocked when connected to trusted devices, in trusted places, or unlocked when your phone is being carried on the body. NOTE:

77 You need to sign in to your Google account on the phone to use all the Smart Lock features. Device admin apps: View or deactivate apps you have authorized to be device administrators. SIM card lock:

Lock SIM card: Activate or deactivate the PIN lock to require the PIN before accessing the nano-SIM card. Change SIM PIN: Change the PIN used to access the nano-SIM card. NOTE:

Put all your confidential passwords in a safe place for future use. If you enter the wrong SIM PIN more times than allowed, your nano-SIM card will be locked and you cannot access the mobile phone network. Contact your operator for a PIN Unlock Key (PUK) to restore the nano-SIM card. Encryption & credentials: Check the encryption status of your phone and set the credential storage options. Trust agents: View or deactivate trust agents. App pinning: Pin an app's screen to keep it in view until you unpin it. This feature can be used, for example, to let a trusted friend play a specific game. See Protecting Your Phone With App Pinning. Accounts Open Settings and touch Accounts to manage your accounts and synchronization. Touch Add account to sign in to or create 78 accounts on your phone. Touch an account you have added to adjust its settings. Accessibility Open Settings and touch Accessibility to configure accessibility options and services on your phone, such as using Color correction or Display size for users with sight problems. Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls Open Settings and touch Digital Wellbeing & parental controls to get information about how you spend time on your phone, like how often you unlock it and how long you use each app. You can use that information to improve your digital wellbeing. You can also help your child balance their screen time with the Family Link app. Dashboard: Check the screen time, number of notifications, and opened times of each app. You can set daily timers for most apps. When the app timer ends, the app is paused for the rest of the day. Focus mode: Choose which apps you want to pause. When Focus mode is on, you can't use these apps and won't get notifications from them. To temporarily unpause apps when Focus mode is on, touch TAKE A BREAK and choose a time limit. Avoid contact with liquids. Keep your phone dry. Do not attempt to disassemble your phone. Only use approved accessories. Dont rely on your phone as a primary device for emergency communications. Keep away from pacemakers and other electronic medical devices. Turn off when asked to in hospitals and medical facilities. Turn off when told to on aircraft and at airports. Turn off when near explosive materials or liquids. For pluggable equipment, the socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible. 84 FCC RF Exposure Information (SAR) This phone is designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radio frequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission of the United States. During SAR testing, this device was set to transmit at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands, and placed in positions that simulate RF exposure in usage against the head with no separation, and near the body with the separation of 0.4 inches (10 mm). Normal Use Position When placing or receiving a phone call, hold your phone to your ear, with the bottom towards your mouth. Airbags Do not place a phone in the area over an airbag or in the airbag deployment area, as an airbag inflates with great force and serious injury could result. Store the phone in a safe and secure area before driving your vehicle. Seizures/Blackouts Your phone can produce a bright or flashing light. A small percentage of people may be susceptible to blackouts or seizures (even if they have never had one before) when exposed to flashing lights or light patterns such as when playing games or watching videos. If you have experienced seizures or blackouts or have a family history of such occurrences, please consult a physician. Repetitive Strain Injuries To minimize the risk of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) when texting or playing games with your phone:

Take frequent breaks to stretch and relax. Emergency Calls This phone, like any other wireless phone, operates using radio signals, which cannot guarantee connection in all conditions. Therefore, you must never rely solely on any wireless phone for emergency communications. Loud Noise This phone is capable of producing loud noises, which may damage your hearing. Turn down the volume before using headphones, Bluetooth headsets or other audio devices. Phone Heating Your phone may become warm during charging and normal use. 93 Electrical Safety Accessories Use only approved accessories. Do not connect with incompatible products or accessories. If your phone (or its accessories) has been submerged in water, punctured, or subjected to a severe fall, do not use it until you have taken it to be checked at an authorized service center. 94 Radio Frequency Interference General Statement on Interference Care must be taken when using your phone in close proximity to personal medical devices, such as pacemakers and hearing aids. Pacemakers Pacemaker manufacturers recommend that a minimum separation of 15 cm be maintained between a mobile phone and a pacemaker to avoid potential interference with the pacemaker. To achieve this, use the phone on the opposite ear to your pacemaker and do not carry it in a breast pocket. Hearing Aids People with hearing aids or other cochlear implants may experience interfering noises when using wireless devices or when one is nearby. The level of interference depends on the type of the hearing device and the distance from the interference source. Increasing the separation between them may reduce the interference. You may also consult your hearing aid manufacturer to discuss alternatives. 95 Medical Equipment Switch off your wireless device when you are requested to do so in hospitals, clinics or healthcare facilities. These requests are designed to prevent possible interference with sensitive medical equipment. Aircraft Switch off your wireless device whenever you are instructed to do so by airport or airline staff. Consult the airline staff about the use of wireless devices onboard the aircraft and enable airplane mode of your phone when boarding an aircraft. Interference in Vehicles Please note that because of possible interference with electronic equipment, some vehicle manufacturers forbid the use of mobile phones in their vehicles unless a hands-free kit with an external antenna is included in the installation. Explosive Environments Gas Stations and Explosive Atmospheres In locations with potentially explosive atmospheres, obey all posted signs to turn off wireless devices such as your phone or other radio equipment. 96 Areas with potentially explosive atmospheres include fueling areas, below decks on boats, fuel or chemical transfer or storage facilities, and areas where the air contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust, or metal powders. up to 5 fingerprints and use them to unlock the phone or open a bound app when the screen is off or locked. You can also use swipe functions. Camera Features Macro camera: Shoot close-ups of the subjects, such as flowers, insects, and small items. AI scene recognition: AI scene recognition can automatically adjust the color and lighting settings to match the scene or subject. For example, if you are taking a picture of flowers, it will choose the best color for flowers and the picture will be more vivid. Refocus: Take a photo with the subject in focus and the background blurred. After the picture is taken, you can touch anywhere on the picture to refocus or adjust the blurriness with the Gallery app. Pro mode: Adjust more camera options for your photo such as ISO, white balance, exposure, etc. Qr code: Read the QR code in the viewfinder screen or open a picture and scan the QR code in it. 10 Nearby Share You can use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi to share files with other devices near your phone. To avoid damage to the phone, do not use any other kind of SIM cards, or any non-standard nano-SIM card cut from a SIM card. You can get a standard nano-SIM card from your service provider. 14 1. Insert the tip of the tray eject tool into the hole on the card tray. CAUTION:

Never replace the included tray eject tool with sharp objects. Ensure that the tray eject tool is perpendicular to the hole. Otherwise, the phone may be damaged. 15 2. Pull out the card tray. You can place a nano-SIM card on the right card slot, and place a nano-SIM card or a microSDXC card (optional) on the left card slot, as shown. Carefully slide the tray back into place. NOTE:

If two nano-SIM cards are installed, both cards can connect to the 4G, 3G, or 2G network, and either card can be used for mobile data. Charging the Phone Your phones battery should have enough power for the phone to turn on, find a signal, and make a few calls. You should fully charge the battery as soon as possible. 16 Use only ZTE-approved chargers and USB cables. The use of unapproved accessories could damage your phone or cause the battery to explode. If the battery is extremely low, you may be unable to power on the phone even when it is being charged. In this case, try again after charging the phone for at least 20 minutes. Contact the customer service if you still cannot power on the phone after prolonged charging. Powering On/Off Press and hold the Power key to turn on your phone. To power off, press and hold the Power key until the options menu appears and then touch

If the screen freezes or takes too long to respond, try pressing and holding the Power key for over 10 seconds to restart the phone. Setting Up for the First Time When you first power on your phone after you purchase it or reset it to factory settings, you need to do some settings before using it. Select the language and follow the on-screen prompts to set up your phone. 18 Locking/Unlocking the Screen and Keys Your phone allows you to quickly lock the screen and keys (put the phone to sleep mode) when not in use and to turn the screen back on and unlock it when you need it. Getting to Know the Home Screen The home screen is the starting point for your phones applications, functions, and menus. You can customize your home screen by adding shortcuts and folders. Extended Home Screen Panels Your home screen is extendable, providing more space for shortcuts and folders. Simply swipe left or right on the home screen to see the extended panels. You can add or remove home screen panels. To add a new home screen panel:

Touch and hold an item such as a shortcut or folder on the home screen and drag it to the right edge of the screen to create a new home screen panel and put the item on it. NOTE:

No empty home screen panel is allowed to exist. If the shortcut or folder is the only item on the current home screen panel, the panel will be deleted as you remove the item. 20 Personalizing Setting the Navigation Style You can set the navigation style as virtual navigation or gesture navigation. You can select to switch to silent or vibration mode by opening Settings > Sound > Switch to vibrate/silent and choosing Mute or Vibrate. Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel and drag the panel downwards. Touch Ring, Vibrate, or Silent to switch the phone to vibration or silent mode or turn on the sound. 23 Open Settings and touch Sound > Advanced > Notification mode, and then select Vibrate or Mute to switch to vibration or silent mode. Using Do Not Disturb Mode You can limit interruptions with Do Not Disturb mode. This mode can mute sound, stop vibration, and block visual disturbances. You can pick what to block and what to allow. Turn On or Off Do Not Disturb Mode 1. Open Settings and touch Sound > Do Not Disturb. 2. Touch TURN ON NOW or TURN OFF NOW. Set the Exceptions for Do Not Disturb Mode 1. If you want to set a schedule when Dark theme will be turned on automatically, touch Schedule and set the start and end time. Not all apps support Dark theme. Using Night Light You can enable Night Light to tint the screen amber and reduce the intensity of bright colors for eye protection, or set a schedule when Night Light will be turned on. 1. You can swipe a card up to remove it from the screen, which will free up running memory on the phone. 31 Security Protecting Your Phone With Screen Locks You can protect your phone by creating a screen lock. When it is enabled, you need to swipe up on the screen, draw a pattern or enter a numeric PIN or password to unlock the phones screen and keys. 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Screen lock. 2. Touch None, Swipe, Pattern, PIN or Password. Touch None to disable the screen lock. Touch Swipe to enable screen lock and allow unlocking with a swipe gesture. You can unlock the screen by touching the display and sliding up. Touch Pattern to create a pattern that you must draw to unlock the screen. Touch PIN or Password to set a numeric PIN or a password that you must enter to unlock the screen. 3. For Pattern, PIN, or Password lock, select how you want notifications and their contents to show when the phone is locked. Then touch Done. CAUTION:

Remember the pattern, PIN or password you set. Otherwise, you will have to contact the customer service to reflash the phone 32 software to use your phone, and all data in your phone will be erased. Using Your Fingerprint With the fingerprint sensor on the back of your phone, you can register up to 5 fingerprints and use them to unlock the phone, or open a bound app when the screen is off or locked. You can also use swipe functions. NOTES:

The fingerprint feature is usable only when a screen lock

(Pattern, PIN, or Password) is enabled. When the screen lock is reset to None or Swipe, all registered fingerprints are erased. If you restart your phone, you need to enter the screen lock pattern, PIN or password you set to unlock the screen for the first time. Register a Fingerprint 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Fingerprint >

Fingerprint management. 2. Enter the screen lock pattern, PIN or password you set. If you havent set a screen lock, follow the prompts to set it. 3. Touch REGISTER or Add fingerprint. 4. Follow the prompts to record the centre and the edges of a finger. 5. Touch OK. 33 NOTE:

Touch an existing fingerprint record to rename or delete it. Set Fingerprint Functions 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Fingerprint >

Wake up and unlock your phone: Unlock the phone with a registered fingerprint when the screen is off or locked. Simple touch: When the screen is off or locked, you can quickly open a selected app with a registered fingerprint. Each registered fingerprint can be assigned to a different app. Set Swipe Functions 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Fingerprint. 2. You can set the following options, for which no fingerprint verification is needed. View notification drawer: Swipe down on the fingerprint sensor to open the notification panel; swipe up to close it. View recent apps: When viewing the home screen, swipe up on the fingerprint sensor for recent apps. 34 Protecting Your Phone With App Pinning You can pin an app's screen to keep it in view until you unpin it. This feature can be used, for example, to let a trusted friend play a specific game. NOTE:

When an app is pinned, the pinned app may open other apps and your personal data may be accessible. Turn On App Pinning 1. Open Settings and touch Security > Advanced > App pinning. 2. Touch the On/Off switch. 3. Read the on-screen prompts and touch OK. 4. To add security for unpinning, switch on Lock device when unpinning and set up a screen lock with or without fingerprint as prompted, or switch on Ask for unlock pattern/PIN/

1. Open Settings and touch Network & internet > Wi-Fi. 2. Slide the switch to the on position to turn on Wi-Fi. 3. Touch a Wi-Fi network name to connect to it. 4. If the network is secured, enter the password and touch CONNECT. NOTES:

Your phone automatically connects to previously used Wi-Fi networks when they are in range. Your phone can automatically use mobile data network when the Wi-Fi signal is weak. To use this feature, touch Wi-Fi preferences below the network list in the Wi-Fi screen and switch on Auto-switch to mobile network. Additional charges may occur. 38 Connecting to Devices Connecting to Bluetooth Devices Bluetooth is a short-range wireless communication technology. Phones or other devices with Bluetooth capabilities can exchange information wirelessly within a distance of a few meters. The Bluetooth devices must be paired before the communication is performed. 1. Open Settings and touch Connected devices. 2. Touch Pair new device. Your phone automatically scans for and displays the IDs of all available Bluetooth devices in range. 3. Touch the device you want to pair with. 4. If necessary, confirm that the Bluetooth passkeys are the same between the two devices and touch PAIR. Alternatively, enter a Bluetooth passkey and touch PAIR. Pairing is successfully completed when the other device accepts the connection or the same passkey is entered. NOTE:

The Bluetooth passkey may be fixed for certain devices, such as headsets and hands-free car kits. You can try entering 0000 or 1234 (the most common passkeys), or refer to the documents for that device. 39 Connecting to Your Computer via USB You can connect your phone to a computer with a USB cable and transfer music, pictures, and other files in both directions. Your phone stores these files in the phone storage or on a removable microSDXC card. If you are using USB tethering, you must turn that off before you can use USB to transfer files between your phone and computer. Connect Your Phone to a Computer via USB 1. Connect your phone to the computer with a USB cable. 2. The Use USB for options menu will automatically open, and you can choose one of the following options. File Transfer: Transfer files on Windows PC or Mac. PTP: Transfer photos or files if File Transfer is not supported by your computer. Charge this device: Charge your phone via USB. Install driver: Install the driver needed for some USB connection modes (such as File Transfer). You only need to install the driver on the same PC once. NOTE:

You can also install the driver on PC by running the executable file in the new CD-ROM drive. Disconnect Your Phone From the Computer To disconnect the phone from the computer, simply unplug the 40 USB cable when youre finished. Sharing Files With Nearby Devices With Nearby Share, you can share photos, videos, and documents with nearby devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. Turn Sharing On or Off 1. On your phone, make sure Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Location are turned on. See Connecting to Bluetooth Devices, Connecting to Wi-Fi and Location. 2. Open Settings and touch Connected devices >

Connection preferences > Nearby Share. 3. Touch the switch at the top to turn Nearby Share on or off. Share Content With Someone 1. Open the content, like a photo or webpage on your phone. 2. Find and touch the Share option and then select Nearby 3. Touch Turn on if Nearby Share is switched off. 4. Hold your phone and your friends device which supports the Nearby Share feature close to each other. Share. NOTE:

Make sure both devices are unlocked, and have Nearby Share, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and location turned on. 5. If prompted, touch the Nearby Share notification on your friends device to make that device visible to nearby devices. 41 6. On your phone, your friends device name will appear and touch the device name to send the content. 7. Accept the sharing on your friends device. Get Content From Someone 1. Ask your friend to follow the Share Content With Someone steps above. 2. Open Settings and touch Connected devices >

Connection preferences > Nearby Share and switch on Show notification if it is turned off on your phone. 3. Youll get a notification that someone is sharing content with you. Touch the notification if you havent set your phone visible to nearby devices. NOTE:

Make sure both devices are unlocked, and have Nearby Share, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and location turned on. 4. Touch Accept to get the content. Choose Who Can Share Content With You 1. Open Settings and touch Connected devices >

Connection preferences > Nearby Share. 2. Touch Device visibility and choose one of the following options. Everyone: Your phone is visible to anyone who is nearby while your phone screen is on and unlocked. Contacts: Your phone is visible to your nearby contacts 42 while your phone screen is on and unlocked. Hidden: Your phone is only visible while Nearby Share is turned on and you need to make your phone visible manually. Set Data Usage for Sharing 1. Open Settings and touch Connected devices >

Connection preferences > Nearby Share. 2. Touch Data and choose one of the following options. Data: Mobile data may be used for small files. Charges may apply. Wi-Fi only: Never use mobile data to share. Without internet: Files will always be shared offline. Using USB On-The-Go (OTG) Your phone supports USB On-The-Go. You can connect the phone and a USB peripheral device (such as a USB flash drive, a USB mouse, or a USB keyboard) with an OTG adapter. For example, when you connect the phone with a USB flash drive, you can browse the files on the flash drive; connect the phone with a USB mouse and you can navigate the phone with the mouse. NOTE:

To safely remove a connected USB storage device (such as a USB flash drive), open Settings, touch Storage and find the name of the device. Then touch next to it. 43 Sharing Your Mobile Data Connection Through Tethering You can use tethering to share your phones Internet connection with a computer that connects to your phone via USB cable or by Bluetooth.
