WindowsCE5.0Require components. 6.1 Introduction The TREK510 platform is one embedded system with Windows Embedded CE 5.0. The Windows Embedded CE 5.0 is a compact OS that occupies less storage space or system resources compared with other operating systems such as Windows XP. By its modular nature, it is possible to choose those functions that are useful for specific application. Not onlyreducingthesystemresourcesrequired, butalsoreducesstartuptime.Inthefieldof embeddedapplications, thisisanappealingfeaturebecausetheimpactofdowntimewould beminimized. Furthermore, the small storage space it needs makes OS on solid-state disk possible, which implies higher robustness to harsh environments. Figure6.1WindowsEmbeddedCE5.0ontheTREK510platform 6.2 WindowsCEStartupProcedure WindowsCEimagecanbeloadedbytwomethods,firstwayisbySD/MMCstoragecard,and second way is by system onboard chip. Storage card is higher boot priority than onboard system flash chip. In BOOTLOADER criteria, it will first read the Windows CE image from external storage card. After download image done, booloader will burn image to onboard flashchipautomatically.IfexternalstoragecardisunavailableornoWindowsCEimageinside, BOOTLOADERwillloadtheWindowsCEimagefromonboardsystemflashchip.BOOTLOADER copy Windows CE image to DRAM and launch WinCE from DRAM, whenever loaded by externalstoragecardorsystemonboardflashchip. Functional Description Tune-up procedure During manufacturing each phone is individually calibrated. Measurement is performed in a fully calibrated setup using an CMU 200 base station simulator
(system tester). Measurement procedure is outlined below:
Measurement Procedure:
1. Set the phone to operational voltage and on a predefined band class and channel. 2. The maximum output power is measured when the power control bit is set as all UP bits. 3. Output power is adjusted individually for no higher than maximum compliance power shown in the relevant test reports. The user has no possibility to change these settings.
