XX WIRING THE STEREO IMPORTANT: Disconnect the vehicles negative () battery terminal before beginning the installation. 1. Plug the vehicle harness into the receptacle on the back of the Admiral stereo. 2. Plug the vehicle antenna harness into the antenna port of the back of the Admiral stereo. MOUNTING THE STEREO Place the stereo against the mounting surface and secure with four sheet metal screws. GENERAL BUTTON OPERATION 1. Home/Power: turns the stereo on and off, and lets you access the home screen to choose sources. 2. Source: Cycle through sources one at a time. 3. Menu: Lets you return to the previous screen or enter the control menu of the source youre currently listening to. 4. Volume/enter: Turn the knob to raise and lower the volume, or to highlight desired control menu options. Press the center button to select the desired control menu option. 5. DIM: Lets you choose between Day and Night modes and access the brightness settings for the screen and buttons. 6. SUB+: Increases the subwoofer output level. 7. SUB-: Decreases the subwoofer output level. 8. Camera: Lets you display the rear camera view on the screen. 9. PRESET: Lets you access and select your radio preset channels or files and folders in a connected USB device. mode. 10. PREVIOUS: Lets you tune radio stations, start at the beginning of a track or go to a previous track in BT and USB mode, and fast rewind a track in USB mode. 11. PLAY/PAUSE: Lets you play or pause a track in BT and USB mode, and mute the output in AM/FM 12. NEXT: Lets you tune radio stations, jump to the next track in BT and USB mode, and fast forward a track in USB mode. SYSTEM SETUP Press and hold the VOLUME/ENTER button to enter the settings menu. 1. Press the HOME button to enter the source selection menu. 2. Turn the volume knob until SETUP is highlighted. 3. Then press ENTER. OR Audio control options 1. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight AUDIO. 2. Press ENTER. 3. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight the desired audio control setting. 4. Press ENTER. 5. Use the VOLUME knob to adjust the desired setting. 6. Press ENTER to set. Audio setting options:
Bass: -7dB +7dB Middle: -7dB +7dB Treble: -7dB +7dB Balance: Left 10 Right 10 (default: 0) Fader: Front 10 Rear 10 (default: 0) Preset EQ: Off, Flat, Jazz, Pop, Classic, Rock, Vocal Loudness: On/Off System options 1. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight SYSTEM. 2. Press ENTER. 3. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight the desired system control setting and 4. Press ENTER. 5. Use the VOLUME knob to adjust the desired setting. 6. Press ENTER to set. System setting options:
I-Volume: 0 40 Beep: 2nd/On/Off Location (tuner): USA, Europe, Japan About 1. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight ABOUT. 2. Press ENTER to see system information. 3. Press and hold the VOLUME button to enter factory reset mode. 4. Turn the VOLUME button to highlight YES (reset to factory settings) or NO. 5. Press ENTER to confirm your choice. Note: Press MENU to return to a previous screen. ADJUSTING THE BRIGHTNESS Day/Night modes Press the DIM button to toggle between Day and Night modes (Night mode is 30% darker). Screen and button brightness settings 1. Press and hold DIM to enter the brightness control menu. 2. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight desired brightness control (LCD or button). 3. Press ENTER. 4. Turn the VOLUME knob to adjust the brightness of the LCD or buttons. 5. Press ENTER when finished. SELECTING SOURCES 1. Press the HOME button to enter the source selection menu. 2. Turn the VOLUME knob to toggle available source selections. 3. Press ENTER to select desired source. OR Press the SRC button to select sources one at a time. AM/FM/WB TUNER OPERATION Tuning stations 1. Press the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons to seek radio stations in auto tuning mode. 2. Or, press and hold the PREVIOUS or NEXT button to enter manual tuning mode. Selecting preset stations 1. Press the PRESET button to pull up the channel preset list. 2. Turn the volume knob until the desired station is highlighted. 3. Press ENTER to select the station. Muting the audio Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to mute the audio output. Setting preset stations When listening to a station you would like to save as a preset:
1. Press the MENU button for 3 seconds to pull up the settings menu. 2. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight SAVE AS PRESET. 3. Press ENTER to select. 4. In the preset list, turn the VOLUME knob to highlight the desired channel number for the station you are saving as a preset. 5. Press ENTER to save. Engaging RDS 1. In the radio settings menu, turn the VOLUME knob to highlight RBDS (Radio Data Service) or TA
(Traffic Announcements). 2. Press ENTER to toggle between ON/OFF for RBDS and TA. NOTE: TA can only be turned on if RBDS is on. BLUETOOTH OPERATION Pairing a Bluetooth device 1. Bluetooth as the source on the stereo. 2. Find and select JBLHM43 on the list of available sources in your phones Bluetooth pairing menu. Selecting tracks Press the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons to restart the current track, select a previous track, or jump to the next track. Pausing playback Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause or resume playing a track. Connecting or disconnecting a device To connect or disconnect a Bluetooth device:
1. Press the MENU button for 3 seconds to pull up the Bluetooth settings menu. 2. Press ENTER to connect or disconnect. NOTE: If a device is connected, disconnect will be the only option shown. If no device is connected, connect will be the only option. USB OPERATION Connecting a USB device Plug a USB drive or iPod into your vehicles USB input. Selecting folders and files 1. Press the PRESET button to pull up the folder list 2. Turn the VOLUME knob until the desired folder is highlighted. 3. Press ENTER to select the folder. 4. Use the VOLUME knob and ENTER button to select individual tracks in the folder you are browsing. Navigating tracks 1. Press the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons to restart the current track, select a previous track, or jump to the next track. 2. Press and hold the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons to rewind or fast-forward a track. Pausing playback Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to pause or resume playing a track. Changing the playback mode 1. Press the MENU button for 3 seconds to pull up the USB settings menu. 2. Turn the VOLUME knob to highlight desired playback mode. 3. Press ENTER to select. 4. Within the desired playback mode, turn the VOLUME knob to highlight desired playback option. 5. Press ENTER to select. Playback mode options:
