Figure 2. Board Outline 1 8 98-2109 Rev AA Data Sheet Figure 3. Board Outline 2 FCC, Industry Canada Compliance FCC Class B This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
This device may not cause harmful interference, and This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reason-
able protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the Instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Consult Landis+Gyr or an experienced radio technician for help. Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. U WARNING: Changes or modifications to this device not expressly approved by Landis+Gyr could void the users authority to operate the equipment. RF Exposure This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 36cm between the radiator and your body. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter. Data Sheet 98-2109 Rev AA 9 Requirement for Modular Certification N651 network node is approved for use with the antennas listed in the table below. Antenna types not included in the list below or a having higher gain than the maximum indicated for that type, are prohibited for use with this device. Make Model Type Termination 902 - 928 MHz Max. Gain 4.5 dBi 2400 - 2485 MHz Max. mination (Antenna) and u.fl termination (N651 Network Node). Information on Test Modes and Additional Testing Requirements A diagnostic test mode is available to device integrators that allows control of the transmit-
ter in order to execute FCC 15.247 compliance testing. This mode of operation provides a basic command interface over a dedicated serial port. Further information on how to enable this mode of operation and a description of the command interface is available to device integrators upon request and under NDA. Additional Testing, Part 15 Subpart B Disclaimer The end product with an embedded N651 Network Node may also need to pass the FCC Part 15 unintentional emission testing requirements and be properly authorized per FCC Part 15 Subpart B. Industry Canada This device complies with Industry Canada license-exempt RSS standard(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference, including interference that may cause undesired operation of the device. Under Industry Canada regulations, this radio transmitter may only operate using an antenna of a type and maximum (or lesser) gain approved for the transmitter by Industry Canada. To reduce potential radio interference to other users, the antenna type and its gain should be so chosen that the equivalent isotropically radiated power (e.i.r.p.) is not more than that necessary for successful communication. This radio transmitter (5294A-NG0R1S4) has been approved by Industry Canada to operate with the antenna types listed below with the maximum permissible gain and required antenna impedance for each antenna type indicated. Antenna types not included in this list or having a gain greater than the maximum gain indicated for that type, are strictly prohibited for use with this device. 8 98-2109 Rev AA Data Sheet Approved Antennas:
