Bluetooth Audio Operation
Bluetooth The Bluetooth audio system enables users to enjoy music played on a portable player from the vehicle speaker via wireless communication. This audio system supports Bluetooth, a wireless data system capable of playing portable audio music without cables. If your portable player does not support Bluetooth, the Bluetooth audio system will not function.
Do not operate the players controls or connect to the Bluetooth audio system while driving.
Do not leave your portable audio player in the car. In particular, high temperatures inside the vehicle may damage the portable audio player.
Connecting to bluetooth is disable while driving. Caution Notes
In the following conditions, the system may not function.
The portable audio player is turned off.
The portable audio player is not connected.
The portable audio player has a low battery.
Depending on the portable audio player that is connected to the system, certain functions may not be available.
It may take time, the phone connection is carried out during Bluetooth audio play.
Some Bluetooth devices (Below Bluetooth 2.0) may not connect to this unit depending on the Bluetooth version of the device.
This unit may not work for some Bluetooth devices.
Connecting conditions may vary depending on your environment.
Portable audio players must correspond to the following specifications in order to be connected to the Bluetooth audio system. However, please note that some functions may be limited depending on the type of portable audio player.
Bluetooth Specification Ver.1.1 or higher (Recommended: Ver.2.1 or higher)
Profile A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Ver.1.0 or higher (Recommended:
Ver.1.2 or higher) This is a profile to transmit stereo audio or high quality sounds to the headphone. AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile) Ver.1.0 or higher
(Recommended: Ver.1.4 or higher) This is a profile to remote control the A/V equipments. Caution
The frequency bands in which the unit is used are also utilized by, apart from chemical/medical equipment and devices such as microwave ovens, in-premises wireless stations for identifying mobile equipment used in a plant production line (wireless stations requiring a license), specified low-power wireless stations (wireless stations not requiring a license), and amateur wireless stations (wireless stations requiring a license) (the aforementioned 3 types of wireless stations are hereinafter referred to as the other wireless stations). Before using the unit, be sure to verify that no other wireless stations are being used in the vicinity of the unit. In the event that the unit causes harmful interference to the other wireless stations, move promptly to a position where this harmful interference is avoided.
The unit is used at a frequency of 2.4GHz.
The FH-SS modulation technique is adopted.
The interference distance is hypothesized to be not more than 10m.
The unit is able to be used across all frequency bands which ensures the bandwidth of mobile equipment identifiers can be avoided.
This telecommunication equipment conforms to NTC technical requirement. YEFM0413026 EN.indb 25 25 1/31/20 3:07 PM 1 Switching to Bluetooth Audio Mode 2 Connecting a Bluetooth Audio Player To use the Bluetooth audio system, you need to register your portable audio player into the system. Once you have registered it, you can enjoy your music on the vehicles audio system. Procedure is disable while driving.
When a Bluetooth Device is not Registered If you have not yet registered any Bluetooth device, you must first register it according to the following procedure.
(1) Touch Bluetooth Symbol .

(1) Activate the Bluetooth wireless technology on your devices.

(3) Use the Bluetooth setting in the device to pair this product with the device.
The system searches for available Bluetooth devices near this product displays them in a list, and registers them for connection.
This function is only available when the Bluetooth function is turned on.
Up to 30 devices will be listed in the order that the devices are found.
If the device name cannot be obtained, only MAC address will be displayed.
In the Bluetooth device you want to connect this product with cannot be found, Check if the device is on standby for the Bluetooth connection and if the device is visible on the Bluetooth connection.
Perform the procedure form step 1 again to the device.
If your device support SSP (Secure Simple Pairing), a six-digit number appears On the display of this product. Touch OK on the screen of this product, and accept the painting request on the device to pair with the device.

When a Bluetooth Device is Registered If you have registered some Bluetooth devices, you can change the device connected and add a new device.
(1) Touch Bluetooth Symbol.
You can add up to 5 devices.
Only one device can be connected at a time.
(2) Paired Device List will shown on display the Select Phone screen is shown.
(4) Touch the function you want to use to place a tick mark.
Handsfree Enables use of hands-free phoning via HFP
(Hands-Free Profile).
Bluetooth Audio Enables use of the Bluetooth audio player A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)/AVRCP
(Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
(5) Slide the setting key for [Auto Phonebook Transfer] to the desired position (On/Off) and touch OK .

Status Display Indicates the status of the Bluetooth connection.
The title of the track and album currently being played will be displayed.

Selecting a Track
Playing Repeat and Random Order
(1) On the Bluetooth operation screen, touch.
(2) Select a file to play back from the category list.
Touch the desired category. 1. All tracks Displays all files stored in smartphone 2. Genres Displays files sorted by genre 3. Artists Displays files sorted by artist name. 4. Album Displays files sorted by album name. 5. Folders Displays folders.
<Repeat Mode>
Repeats playback of the current track.
The repeat mode changes as follows each time the screen switch is touched. Switch Name Repeat 1 File Function Repeats the current file only. Repeat List Repeats all the files in the current list.
<Random Mode>
Tracks are selected by the unit at random for playback.
The random mode changes as follows each time the screen switch touched. Switch Name Shuffle OFF Function Disables random playback and play in normal playback. This function is not available if your mobile phone or the carrier you are using does not support the function. Bluetooth hands-free system allows you to make or receive a call without operating the cellular phone directly. This system supports Bluetooth. Bluetooth is a wireless data system by which you can call without your cellular phone being connected with a cable or placed on a cradle. The operating procedure of the system is explained in this section.

If your cellular phone does not support Bluetooth, this system will not function.
Depending on the cellular phone models, some functions may be restricted.
In the following conditions, the system may not function.
The cellular phone is turned off.
The current position is outside the communication area.
The cellular phone is not connected.
The cellular phone has a low battery.
When outgoing is controlled, due to heavy traffic on telephone lines, etc.
When the cellular phone itself cannot be used.
When transferring the phonebook data from the cellular phone.
Even if your cellular phone supports both hands-free and audio Bluetooth connections, it may not be able to connect to the hands-free connection at the same time.
When using Bluetooth audio and hands-free at the same time, the following problems may occur.
The Bluetooth connection may be cut.
Noise may be heard on the Bluetooth audio playback.
The Bluetooth phone battery will burn out quickly when it is connected to Bluetooth.
Use a cellular phone or connect the Bluetooth phone only when safe and legal to do so. Caution
Do not leave your cellular phone in the car. The temperature inside may be high and damage the phone.
If the Bluetooth phone is too close to the system, quality of the sound may deteriorate and connecting condition may go down.
This system supports the following service.
Bluetooth Specification Ver.1.1 or higher (Recommended: Ver.2.1+EDR or higher)
Profile
HFP (Hands Free Profile) Ver.1.0 or higher
(Recommended: Ver.1.5 or higher) This is a profile to allow hands-free phone call using the cellular phone or head sets. It has an outgoing and incoming call function.
OPP (Object Push Profile) Ver.1.1 or higher This is a profile to exchange phonebook data. When the Bluetooth phone has PBAP and OPP, OPP cannot be used.
PBAP (Phone Book Access Profile) Ver.1.0 or higher This is a profile to transfer phonebook data.
If your cellular phone does not support HFP, you cannot register the Bluetooth phone, and take OPP or PBAP service individually.
You can use the microphone when talking on the phone. YEFM0413026 EN.indb 33 33 1/31/20 3:07 PM 2 When you Release Your car A lot of personal data is registered when you use the Hands-free system. When you release your car, initialize your data. You can initialize the following data in the system.
Phonebook data If you initialize it, the former state will never come back again. Pay attention when initializing the data. Notes
The other partys voice outputs from the front speaker. When the received calls or received voice outputs, the audio from the audio system will be muted.
Talk alternately with the other party on the phone. If you talk at the same time, your voices may not reach each other. (It is not a malfunction.)
Keep the volume of receiving voice down. Otherwise, an echo will be heard and receiving voice can be heard outside of the vehicle. When you talk on the phone, speak clearly towards the microphone.
In the following situations, your voice may not reach the other party.
Driving on an unpaved road. (Due to traffic noise.)
Driving at high speed.
A window is open.
The sound of the air-conditioning fan is loud.

Up to 32 digits can be entered.
If the phone numbers including the entered numbers exist in the contact list, the phone numbers are listed on the left side of the dial pad.

You can make a call by selecting a phone number from the call history list. (Up to 100 most recent calls are saved in the history.)

If the connected mobile device supports UIBC (User input Back Channel), touch panel operations such as zooming in and out, rotating, and dragging may be available. Notes

Connecting to an access point from the list You can select an access point to connect to from the access point list.
This function is available when the radio button for [Wi-Fi] is selected.
The access point list is updated in short intervals.
(1) Touch [Wi-Fi]. The access point list appears.
If multiple access points are found, you can flick or drag to view the rest of the list.
Currently available access points are displayed with the signal strength icon. Icons Status Meaning

(2) Touch the access point to connect to.
If the password entry screen appears, touch the text box and enter the password. Check the entered password by selecting the check box for Password Visible as necessary.
If you select the access point whose password has been saved in this product, the SSID (Service Set Identifier) screen of the access point appears.
Touching [Other] allows you to manually specify an access point to connect to.
