PLACEMENT AND MOUNTING
Placing the device on table - Ventilation
When placing the Sound Bar on an entertainment center, bookshelf, or any type of
enclosed space, be sure to allow at least 2-3 inches of space around the Sound Bar for
ventilation. If the Sound Bar is enclosed in a tight space, without ventilation, heat
generated from the Sound Bar could produce a potential heat hazard.

A. Mark the position of the mounting screws on the wall using a pencil.
B. Drill the supplied screws directly into the marks that you have made on the wall and
leave approx. 0.3 inch length to hook the sound bar.
C. Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable.

B. Drill 2 holes on wall with a powerful electric drill.
C. Insert the supplied fixing plug and hammer into the holes.
D. Secure the supplied screws into the fixing plugs and leave approx. 0.3 inch length to

E. Put the sound bar onto the mounting screws. Make sure they are firm and stable.

Battery precautions
Follow these precautions when using a battery in this device:
1. Use only the size and type of battery specified.
2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the battery as indicated in the battery
compartment. A reversed battery may cause damage to the device.
3. Do not mix different types of batteries together (e.g. Alkaline and Carbon-zinc) or old
batteries with fresh ones.
4. If the batteries in the device are consumed or device is not to be used for a long period of
time, remove the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.
5. Do not try to recharge the battery not intended to be recharged; it can overheat and
rupture.
(Follow battery manufacturer's instructions.)
6. The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
7. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.

Warning: Do not ingest battery, Chemical Burn Hazard.
This product contains a coin/button cell battery. If the coin/button cell battery is swallowed, it
can cause severe internal burn in just 2 hours and can lead to death. Keep new and used
batteries away from children. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using
the product and keep it away from children. If you think batteries might have been
swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.

GENERAL OPERATION
1. Connect the AC/DC adapter to the unit and wall outlet. The indicator will light up
in red, which indicates the unit is powered on and enters the standby mode.
2. Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or the button on remote control to
enter the play mode.
3.
Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or the SOURCE button on the remote
control repeatedly to switch to desired mode. The color of the indicator will turn to:

FM RADIO OPERATION
Before listening to the radio, please unwind and extend FM antenna or relocate
the unit to get better reception.
1. Power on the unit and enter the play mode as previously explained.
2. Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or the SOURCE button on
the remote control repeatedly until the indicator turns Green.
3.
Press and hold the VOL+ or VOL-/REC. button on the unit, or press the
/TUNE+ or /TUNE- button on the remote control. When the indicator
blinks, release the button. The unit will start to search for radio stations.
Once a station is located, the unit will stop searching and start to play it. If
you want another one, repeat the operation to start a new search.
4. Press and hold the FM Scan button on the unit or the on the remote
control. When the indicator start to blink rapidly, release the button. Now the
unit starts searching available bands and stores them automatically.
After searching and storing finished, press repeatedly the FM Scan button on
the unit or the button on the remote control to choose the desired station.

BLUETOOTH PAIRING AND CONNECTION
For first time use or re-pairing, pair the unit to an external Bluetooth (BT) device
as follows:
1. Power on the unit and enter the play mode as previously explained.
2.
Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press the SOURCE button on
the Remote Control repeatedly until the color of the Indicator turns to Blue.
3. Power on the external BT Device and select Bluetooth to enter into search
mode. When SYLVANIA SB3713 appears from your devices list, click it to start
pairing. After paired, the Blue Indicator will stop blinking.
If the passcode doesn't appear, see the instructions of the external BT device.
4.If you want to connect another BT device while playing, press "PAIR" Button on
remote control to disconnect this pairing, then connect another BT device
following above steps.
NOTE:

When the external BT Device searches the unit, The code
"SYLVANIA SB3713" will appear on the display of the external BT device.
If the BT device asks for a password, input pairing code "0000" to confirm it to
connect to "SYLVANIA SB3713".
Normal operation after paired:
1. Power on the unit and select the playback source to BT as previously
explained.
2. Turn on the BT function of the external BT Device.
3. Touch SYLVANIA SB3713 and wait a few seconds until the unit pairs to the
external BT device automatically. The Blue indicator will stop blinking.
4. Play the music in the connected BT Device as usual.

AUX 1: LISTEN TO TV/DVD/VCR/DVR
An external Video/Audio player (such as TV, DVD player, VCR, etc.) can be
connected to this unit and heard through the speakers.
1. Plug one side of RCA White and Red cable into the AUX 1 jacks on the rear
of the unit.
2. Plug the other side of cable into Audio Out R & L jacks of the TV or external
device as the illustration below.
NOTE: Make sure to connect to AUDIO OUT. If you connect it into AUDIO IN of
external device, you will not hear the sound.

4. Press the Standby/Source button on the unit or press the SOURCE button
on the Remote Control repeatedly until the color of Indicator turns to

repeatedly to switch to desired mode.
3. When in playback, press and hold the Vol+/REC button on the unit or the Vol+ button on the
remote control until you hear a prompt tone, which indicates the recording process starts.
4. To stop recording, press and hold the Vol+/REC button on the unit or the Vol+ button on the
remote again. When hearing two beep tones, release the button.
NOTE:

PLACEMENT ET MONTURE
Placer l’appareil sur une table - Ventilation
Lorsque vous placez la barre de son sur un centre de divertissement, une étagère ou tout
type d'espace clos, assurez-vous de laisser au moins 2 à 3 pouces d'espace autour de la
barre de son pour la ventilation. Si la barre de son est enfermée dans un espace restreint,
sans ventilation, la chaleur générée par la barre de son pourrait devenir une source de
danger.

Monter sur un mur
1. Monter sur un mur de bois
A. Marquez la position des vis de monture sur le mur à l'aide d'un crayon.
B. Percez des trous pour les vis fournies directement dans les marques que vous avez
faites sur le mur et laissez-les dépasser d’environ 0,3 pouce pour accrocher la barre de
son.
C. Placez la barre de son sur les vis de monture. Assurez-vous qu'elles sont fermement
insérées et stables.
2. Monter sur un mur de brique
A. Marquez la position des vis de monture sur le mur à l'aide d'un crayon.
B. Percez 2 trous sur le mur avec une puissante perceuse électrique.
C. Insérez les chevilles de fixation incluses avec un marteau dans les trous.
D. Fixez les vis fournies dans les chevilles de fixation et laissez-les dépasser d’environ
0,3 pouce pour accrocher la barre de son.
E. Placez la barre de son sur les vis de monture. Assurez-vous qu'elles sont fermement
insérées et stables.

Précautions concernant les piles
Respectez ces précautions lorsque vous utilisez des piles dans cet appareil :
1. N'utilisez que le type et la taille de pile spécifiés.
2. Veillez à respecter les polarités lorsque vous installez une pile, comme indiqué dans le compartiment
des piles. Une pile installée à l'envers pourrait endommager l'appareil.
3. Ne pas mélanger différents types de piles (par ex. Alcaline et Carbone-zinc), ou des piles neuves et

UTILISATION GÉNÉRALE
1. Branchez l’adaptateur CA/CC à l’unité et à une prise murale. Le voyant
indicateur s’illuminera en rouge pour indiquer que l’unité est alimentée et
qu’elle est en veille.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton Veille/Source sur l’unité ou sur le bouton de la
télécommande pour activer le mode lecture.

Pendant la lecture :

sélectionner le mode EQ désiré entre MUSIQUE, VOIX, FILM et STANDARD.
Maintenez ce bouton appuyé pour activer le mode EQ par défaut (MUSIQUE).
~ Appuyez sur le bouton (Muet) sur la télécommande pour couper le son.
Appuyez de nouveau pour le rétablir.
~ Appuyez sur les boutons BASSE +/- sur la télécommande pour régler le
niveau des basses.
~ Appuyez sur les boutons AIGU +/- sur la télécommande pour régler le niveau
des aigus.
Lorsque vous appuyez sur le bouton (Muet), le voyant indicateur s’illumine
en blanc et clignote rapidement pour indiquer que l’unité a reçu la commande et
l’a appliquée. Appuyez de nouveau sur le bouton pour rétablir le
fonctionnement normal. Lorsque vous appuyez sur n’importe quel bouton de
l’unité ou de la télécommande, le voyant indicateur de l’unité clignotera une fois
et l’unité l’appliquera avec l’action correspondante.

Lorsque vous avez fini l’écoute, maintenez le bouton Veille/Source appuyé sur
l’unité ou appuyez sur le bouton de la télécommande pour éteindre l’unité et
la mettre en veille.

UTILISATION DE LA RADIO FM
Avant d’écouter la radio, veuillez dérouler et étendre l’antenne FM ou déplacer
l’unité pour améliorer la qualité de réception.
1. Allumez l’unité et activez le mode de lecture comme décrit précédemment.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton Veille/Source sur l’unité ou sur le bouton SOURCE

de la télécommande à plusieurs reprises, jusqu’à ce que le voyant
indicateur passe au vert.
Maintenez le bouton VOL+ ou VOL-/REC. sur l’unité ou sur le bouton /
FRÉQUENCE+ ou /FRÉQUENCE- de la télécommande. Relâchez le
bouton lorsque le voyant indicateur clignote. L’unité commence alors la
recherche de stations radio. Lorsqu’une station est trouvée, l’unité cesse la
recherche et commence la lecture. Si vous souhaitez en écouter une autre,
répéter l’opération pour lancer une nouvelle recherche.
4. Maintenez le bouton recherche FM sur l’unité ou sur le bouton de la
télécommande. Relâchez le bouton lorsque le voyant indicateur clignote
rapidement. L’unité commence alors la recherche des stations disponibles
et les mémorise automatiquement.
Après la recherche et la mise en mémoire, appuyez à plusieurs reprises sur le
bouton de recherche FM sur l’unité ou sur le bouton de la télécommande
pour choisir la station désirée.

ASSOCIATION BLUETOOTH ET CONNEXION
Pour la première utilisation ou une nouvelle association, effectuez la connexion
avec un appareil Bluetooth (BT) externe comme suit :
1. Allumez l’unité et activez le mode de lecture comme décrit précédemment.
2.
Appuyez sur le bouton Veille/Source sur l’unité ou sur le bouton SOURCE de
la télécommande à plusieurs reprises, jusqu’à ce que le voyant indicateur
passe au bleu.
3. Allumez l’appareil BT externe et lancez une recherche depuis le menu
Bluetooth. Lorsque SYLVANIA SB3713 est trouvé dans la liste des appareils,
sélectionnez-le pour effectuer l’association. Cela fait, le voyant indicateur bleu
cessera de clignoter.
Si le code de connexion n’apparaît pas, consultez les instructions
accompagnant l’appareil BT externe.
4.Si vous souhaitez vous connecter à un autre appareil BT pendant la lecture,
appuyez sur le bouton « ASSOCIATION » de la télécommande pour annuler
cette association, puis suivez les étapes ci-dessus pour connecter à un autre
appareil BT.
REMARQUE :

Lorsque l’appareil BT externe recherche l’unité, le code « SYLVANIA
SB3713 » apparaîtra sur l’écran de l’appareil BT externe.
Si l’appareil BT externe demande un mot de passe, saisissez le code
d’association « 0000 » pour le confirmer et effectuer la connexion à «
SYLVANIA SB3713 ».
Utilisation normale après association :
1. Allumez l’unité et sélectionnez la source de lecture BT comme décrit
précédemment.
2. Activez la fonction BT de l’appareil BT externe.
3.
Touchez SYLVANIA SB3713 et attendez quelques secondes qu’il se
connecte automatiquement à l’appareil BT externe. Cela fait, le voyant
indicateur bleu cessera de clignoter.
4. Jouez la musique sur l’appareil BT connecté comme d’habitude.
5.
Pendant la lecture :
~ Appuyez sur le bouton /FRÉQUENCE + ou /FRÉQUENCE - pour
sauter les pistes.
~ Appuyez sur le bouton ou le bouton de recherche FM sur l’unité ou sur
la télécommande pour mettre en pause.
Appuyez encore une fois sur pour reprendre la lecture normale.

AUX 1 : Pour écouter le son du TV/DVD/VCR/DVR
Vous pouvez connecter un lecteur vidéo/audio (comme un téléviseur, un
lecteur DVD, un magnétoscope, etc.) à cette unité pour en diffuser le son.
1. Branchez une extrémité du câble RCA blanc et rouge aux jacks AUX 1 de
l’arrière de l’unité.
2. Branchez l’autre extrémité du câble aux jacks Sortie audio G et D du
téléviseur ou de l’appareil externe comme illustré ci-dessous.
REMARQUE : Assurez-vous de connecter à SORTIE AUDIO. Si vous
connectez au port ENTRÉE AUDIO de l’appareil externe, alors vous
n’entendrez pas le son.

AUX 2 : ÉCOUTER UN APPAREIL AUDIO EXTERNE
Vous pouvez connecter une source audio externe (auxiliaire) (comme un
lecteur CD ou un lecteur MP3) à cette unité pour en diffuser le son.

UTILISATION DE LA FONCTION D’ENREGISTREMENT
L’unité comporte une fonction d’enregistrement. Veuillez insérer une clef USB au préalable.
1. Allumez l’unité et activez le mode comme décrit précédemment.
2. Appuyez sur le bouton Veille/Source sur l’unité ou sur le bouton SOURCE de la
télécommande pour basculer sur le mode désiré.
3. Pendant la lecture, maintenez le bouton Vol+/REC appuyé sur l’unité ou le bouton Vol+ de
la télécommande jusqu’à ce que vous entendiez une notification sonore indiquant que
l’enregistrement commence.
4. Pour arrêter l’enregistrement, maintenez le bouton Vol+/REC appuyé sur l’unité ou le bouton
Vol+ de la télécommande de nouveau. Lorsque vous entendez les deux notifications
sonores, relâchez le bouton.
REMARQUE :
Les pistes enregistrées seront stockées sur la clef USB automatiquement.

• Pour lire les pistes enregistrées, appuyez sur le bouton Veille/Source sur l’unité ou sur le
bouton SOURCE de la télécommande pour basculer sous le mode USB. La lecture
commencera automatiquement.
