Important Note for Wall-Mounted TVs Make sure the combined weight of the camera (8.81 oz.) and TV does not exceed the maximum rating for your wall mount. Check the wall mount manufacturers manual for the maximum rating. The camera clip is not compatible with all TV wall mounts. For wall-mounted TVs that have been installed ush with the wall, camera placement on your TV is not recommended due to space constraints which may result in damage to your TV or the camera. Important Note for Fireplace-Mounted TVs The camera is not intended for use in high-temperature locations, such as above replaces. 2 Connect and Power Up Plug in one of the provided HDMI cables to your set-top box and the other end to the HDMI Cable In port on your adaptor box. Plug the second HDMI cable to the HDMI TV Out port on your adaptor box and the other end to one of the available HDMI ports on your TV. Plug the camera cable into the Camera port. If the camera cable is not long enough to reach the Camera port, connect the provided USB extension cable to the camera cable. The WPS button (currently not available) is used for pairing Skype on TV with your WiFi network, and will only work with WPS-capable routers . Please be aware that digital audio can run through your digital audio receiver, but digital video must be connected directly from your box to your TV . The Reset button is recessed to prevent accidental pressing . The Reset button has two functions, depending on the length of time held:

Helpful Hints for the Remote Keyboard Always press the Unlock button before typing to enable the keyboard . The Unlock button prevents accidental typing when youre using the front of the remote . If you accidently press a button on the front of the remote, youll disable the keyboard on the back . Press the Unlock button again to enable remote keyboard typing . Press and hold a key to display any available special characters. For example, press and hold e for , , , or . (Not available at this time) The ALT key must be pressed before pressing a blue character every time you enter a character . (like a TV console). The recommended viewing distance is 5 - 12. The camera should not be used near strong magnetic fields . TV Top a) Place the front of the camera on top of your TV, with the bottom lip resting just below the top of the screen . b) Push the clip down until it touches the back of the TV and the camera is secure. c) Pivot the angle of the camera and adjust to capture your preferred viewing area. TV Top Back of TV Flat Surface a) Hold the camera with the lens facing towards you and adjust the clips rubber bottom, as shown. b) Place the camera on a flat surface with the lens facing the viewing area. Flat Surface 10 Set Up Helpful Hints for Set Up The cameras broad angle will give you the ability to relax across the room while enjoying conversation. Run the Camera Test (during the TV activation or go to Settings > System Settings > Video Settings at any time) to see what area will be captured during a video call. Position table/standing lamps in front of you to avoid appearing silhouetted. Turn down overhead lights and position a secondary table or standing lamp in front of you to avoid having to turn overhead lights all the way up . Important Note for Wall-Mounted TVs Make sure the combined weight of the camera (8.81 oz.) and TV does not exceed the maximum rating for your wall mount. Check the wall mount manufacturers manual for the maximum rating. The camera clip is not compatible with all TV wall mounts. If the camera cable is not long enough to reach the Camera port, connect a USB extension cable (not provided) to the camera cable. d) Decide if you want to connect to your home network using a wired Ethernet cable or WiFi connection. There is no actual power button on your adaptor box so this power cable is the only way to turn the system on and off . b) Turn on your TV, set-top box and audio receiver (if you have one). c) After turning on your devices, youll see a black screen. d) In a few minutes (up to 15), youll be greeted with a Welcome screen.

Helpful Hints for Powering Up The power adaptor is made up of two pieces that join together. There is no actual power button on your adaptor box so this power cable is the only way to power the system on and off . If needed, use a USB extension cable (not provided) to add length to your camera cable. Use the HDMI cables to connect your set-top-box and adaptor box to your TV. The HDMI cable must be connected directly to the TV and not sent through a video receiver. 14 Activate Activate If you need help with activation, please call 855-417-9342 . Follow the onscreen instructions to activate . The tips in this section will help you complete the process . Remote Pairing a) Begin the activation process by pressing the Setup button to pair the remote included in the box with the adaptor box .
(Note: If you havent already done so, pull the tab from the remotes battery compartment before using.) b) Flip the remote to the keyboard side. c) Press the Unlock button to enable typing . d) Use the keyboard to enter the 3 letters displayed. (Note: The letters on your TV screen may be different from the example shown below.) Helpful Hints for Remote Pairing Press the Unlock button on the remote before you begin typing . Note: Accidentally pressing any key on the front of the remote will lock the keyboard . See Get to Know the Parts: Remote on page 6 for keyboard tips . If you type an incorrect letter, the screen will refresh and ask you to re-enter until you have succeeded . Terms of Service Review the Terms of Service . Scroll to the bottom and select I ACCEPT to continue . You must accept the Terms of Service in order to continue . Activate 15 Connect to Your Home Network An Internet connection is required, but the screen(s) youll see depends on your choice of network connection . Use with this connection, or click FIND WiFi to switch to WiFi . b) The following screen lets you know that you have successfully connected to your home network using an Ethernet cable . Click CONTINUE for the next step . Helpful Hints for Ethernet Connection If there is a problem finding your Ethernet connection, make sure the Ethernet cable is properly connected and try again, or use a WiFi connection instead . If your Ethernet cable is detected but the connection fails, there may be a problem with your Internet service . Check that your service is working properly and try again . 16 Activate Choose between connecting to an available or a hidden WiFi network . Available WiFi Networks Follow these steps if youre using an available WiFi network:
a) Select your WiFi Network from the list of networks within range . b) Enter your Network Password. Helpful Hints for Available WiFi Networks If your WiFi network cant be found, make sure your wireless router or modem is working properly and reconnect . If your WiFi network is found but the connection fails, there may be a problem with your Internet service . Check your service and try again . Activate 17 Hidden WiFi Networks Follow these steps if you want to connect to a hidden WiFi network:
a) Select Join Another Network . b) Enter the Network Name (SSID) of the hidden WiFi network . c) Select the Security Type of the hidden WiFi network . d) Enter your Network Password. 18 Activate e) This screen will appear once youve connected to the hidden network . Helpful Hints for Hidden WiFi Networks If youve tried to join a network that that cant be found or is no longer in service, verify the information you entered is correct and try again . You can also join an available WiFi network or connect using an Ethernet cable instead. If you have a hidden network, you will need to know the Network Name (SSID), Security Type, and Network Password to connect . Activate 19 WPS Capable Routers Follow these steps if youre using a WiFi router with WPS capability. WPS (or WiFi Protected Setup) technology securely connects the XFINITY adaptor box to your WiFi Network without the need to enter any network information manually . a) The adaptor box will automatically find your WPS- capable WiFi router . Follow the onscreen instructions to pair the adaptor box with your router . b) This screen confirms the connection to your home network . Helpful Hints for WPS Capable Routers If there is a problem finding your WPS capable WiFi, it may be disconnected. Check your wireless router and reconnect, or connect with an Ethernet cable instead . Time Zone Select your time zone by choosing from the options shown . Your selection will ensure that your call times are captured accurately . 20 Activate System Check After youre connected to the Internet, youll have the option of running some short tests to ensure everything is working properly . These are quick diagnostic tests that will check your hardware and uncover any problems or issues . These tests are optional and can be run later by choosing SKIP TESTS. Resolution Check The resolution test identifies your TVs resolution . If your TV is capable of 1080p resolution, continue with 1080p. Otherwise, select 720p and continue . TV Signal Check The TV signal test ensures that your set-top box is connected properly and that youll be able to watch TV while using Skype on TV . If you see TV programming on the screen, click I SEE TV . Helpful Hints for TV Signal Check If you see a gray box with an X, click I DONT SEE THE TV. Check to see if your HDMI cable is securely connected and try again . You can use the service without the TV connection, but you wont be able to watch TV while using the service . Activate 21 Camera Check The camera test checks that your camera is working and positioned to capture your preferred viewing area . Test your camera, make any adjustments (if needed), then select I SEE MYSELF to continue . Helpful Hints for Camera Check If your camera is properly adjusted and you still dont see yourself, select I DONT SEE MYSELF . Check to see if the cameras USB cable or USB extension cable, if used, are securely plugged into the Camera Input of the adaptor and try again . If youre still having trouble, please call Comcast at 855-417-9342 for assistance. Microphone Check The microphone test will ensure the microphones in the camera are working properly . Speak and the sound check will run automatically . If the check is successful, the icon will glow. Click CONTINUE and youll see the following success screen:
If the icon doesnt glow after a few seconds, click I DONT SEE GLOWING ICON and follow the directions on the screen to continue . Helpful Hints for Microphone Check If your microphone test is not successful, first make sure your camera is securely connected. Then, check that there are no obstructions between you and the microphone and try again by saying something out loud and speaking as clearly as possible . 22 Activate Set Volume While the microphone test confirms that you will be heard, the volume check verifies that youll be able to hear your contact speaking . Follow the steps to set your volume . Helpful Hints to Set the Volume If you cant hear anything, make sure your TV sound is not muted. If youre using an audio receiver, disconnect the SPDIF (Optical Digital Audio) cable from your set-top box, plug it into the audio port and try again . Comcast Sign-In If youve signed into Comcast before, this screen will look familiar to you . Simply enter your primary Comcast ID and password, then press CONTINUE . Helpful Hints for Comcast Sign-In If you check the box next to Remember my password, you wont be prompted to enter your password each time you sign in . As an added security measure, you will be prompted to re-enter your password after 7 days of inactivity . If youve forgotten this information, select the link at the bottom of the screen or visit https://login.comcast.net/myaccount to retrieve them . Activate 23 Skype Sign-In If you already have a Skype account you want to use, enter the information to continue . Helpful Hints for Skype Sign-In Each Comcast ID must be linked with a unique Skype Name. Linking your Comcast ID and Skype Name will give you one list of contacts on your TV. If you cant remember your Skype account information, select Forgot your Skype Name and Password at the bottom of the screen or visit https://login.skype.com. If you dont have a Skype account, select Create a New Skype Account. You can unlink a Skype account from this service at any time. Go to Settings > Account Settings > Change Skype ID. 24 Activate Sync Contacts By syncing your contacts, youll be able to access your XFINITY and Skype contacts from one place, making it even faster and easier to find a family member or friend . Syncing cannot be undone . It will merge
your XFINITY and Skype contact lists. Before you begin, double check that youre signed in under your own profile to make sure that youre syncing the right contacts . Helpful Hints for Syncing Syncing usually takes a few minutes, but the first time you sync may take slightly more. Once you sync your contacts, you may end up with a few duplicate entries. You can delete the duplicates by going to XFINITY.com > Connect > Sign In > My Account > Contacts > Check for Duplicate Contacts . For more address book information please visit please visit the Contacts section on page 41 . If you click CANCEL during the sync, the two sets of contacts will not be merged and no changes will be made to your existing XFINITY and Skype contact lists. Activation Complete Once youve completed the setup process, youll see the following screen . Activation is complete and you can now begin connecting with family and friends . Click LEARN MORE for an overview of key functions and features . Click FINISH to return home . Profiles 25 Profiles The Profiles screen displays your status and mood, as well as your Skype information (location, birthday, email and phone). To manage your profile settings, go to Settings > Profile Settings. When you activate Skype on TV for the first time, you must use your primary Comcast ID and link it to a Skype account . This creates your first profile . See the Activate section on page 14 for details . Later in this section youll learn how to create up to six more profiles . This section will help you:
Sign in Create new profiles Edit your profiles View your contacts information Sign In You can begin connecting with family and friends once you sign in with a profile . Press the Home button on your remote . a) Select an existing profile (if more than one) and click OK on your remote . b) Select SIGN IN . Flip over your remote and use the keyboard to enter your password, then click CONTINUE . Before typing, make sure your remote is not locked . If you check the box next to Remember my password, you wont be prompted to enter your password every time you sign in . Each profile must consist of a unique Comcast email address and a unique Skype account. For example, you cannot link the same Skype account to two different Comcast IDs. Create a New Profile To create a new profile, go to Settings > Profile Settings > Manage Profiles . Before you create a new profile on the TV, make sure you have already created the secondary Comcast ID and Skype account for this new profile . Create Additional Comcast Email Addresses a. Open a web browser and go to http://customer.comcast.com. b . Select the Users & Settings tab at the top . c. Enter your Username (Comcast ID or Email) and Password. Click SIGN IN . d . Under Manage My User Accounts, click Create Secondary User . Complete the requested information . Create Additional Skype Accounts Go to Settings > Add Account to create a new Skype account, or create one online using your computer or mobile device . Note: A profile created on your TV will have the same settings, including privacy settings, as the linked Skype account . Unlink Accounts You can unlink a Skype account from Skype on TV at any time by linking the Comcast ID to a new Skype account . Go to Settings > Account Settings > Change Skype ID . Profiles 27 Display Name Go to Settings to edit the name seen by your contacts My Profile Avatar Skype Avatar Status Skype Name Mood Update Status Your status indicates your availability . Update it at any time to alert your contacts when youre available to connect . a) Select your profile to view and edit. b) Click SET STATUS . 28 Profiles c) Select a status option: Available, Away, Do Not Disturb, Invisible, or Offline . A Quick Look at Status Options Available Your contacts can see that youre online and can call or text you . This is your status when you first sign in . Away Do Not Disturb Youre signed in, but may not be active . Your contacts can still call or text you . Your contacts may still try to call or text you but you can decide whether to respond . Youre signed in, but not ready to talk or chat at the moment . Your contacts may still try to call or text you but you can decide whether to respond . Invisible Youll appear to be offline to your contacts, but you can still be active . Profiles 29 Update Your Mood Mood is a short update of what youre doing, how youre feeling, or just whats on your mind . a) Select your profile and press OK . b) Select SET MOOD . c) Update your message (maximum number of characters is 200). Helpful Hints for Setting Your Mood If your message cannot be saved, please try again at a later time. 30 Profiles Your Contacts Information Select a contact to view more information . When you select a contact, youll be able to see the avatar, name, status, moodas well as your contacts Skype information (location, birthday, email and phone). You can also choose to remove or block this person . Connect, block, remove or view contact profile right from this screen:
a) From Contacts or Recent, select a contact . b) Select VIDEO CALL, AUDIO CALL or TEXT CHAT. Glyph c) Click to block or remove this contact .

Make a Video Call A video call is a face-to-face conversation that happens right on your TV. During a video call, you have the option of turning off the video and switching to an audio call instead . You can turn the video back on again at any time during the call session . a) Select someone from your Contacts or Recent lists . b) Choose VIDEO CALL. c) While the call is being placed, a request to connect is being sent to your contact . d) Once your call is accepted, youll see real-time video of your contact . e) To end your video call, select END at the bottom of your screen or press End on your remote . 32 Calls and Chats Video Call Options Mute (On Remote) There are two Mute options on your remote:
Mic Select to mute yourself so the other person cant hear you. Press again to turn back on. Sound Select to mute the other person. Press again to turn back on. Video (On Remote) Press this to momentarily turn off your camera and pause your video transmission. Press again to turn back on. Hold (On Screen and Remote) Select Hold at the bottom of your screen or press Hold on your remote to pause the transmission of video and audio from your microphone . This will also mute incoming sound . Views You can change the layout of your screen depending on your viewing preference . For instance, you can expand the screen that your TV program is on while minimizing the video call screen and vice versa . Personalize what you see by selecting from several configurations . You have the option to change your screen views at any time, as many times as you wish . To change the layout of your video call, select VIEWS at the bottom of the screen or press the VIEWS on your remote to toggle through the choices . Calls and Chats 33 Helpful Hints for Video Calls After 4 hours, your video call will automatically end. You will be offered the option to CONTINUE if you want to keep talking . You can make and accept video calls while watching TV, including On Demand or DVR programming . Simply make or accept a call, as you normally would then use your remote to select VIEWS on the bottom of the screen . Choose the view that balances your preference of TV program and caller video . 34 Calls and Chats Make an Audio Call An audio call works much like a video call except there is no actual video . Instead, youll see your contacts Skype avatar or photo during the call . Even if you make an audio call, you have the option of turning on video any time during the call . a) Select someone from your contacts or Recent lists . b) Choose AUDIO CALL. c) Youll see the following as the call is being placed and a message is being sent to your contact . d) After your call is accepted, youll see your contacts avatar on the screen . e) To end your audio call, select END at the bottom of your screen or press End on your remote . 36 Calls and Chats Have a Text Chat Use your remotes keyboard to type a message to one of your contacts . Your message, and your contacts response, will instantly appear as a text chat . These types of chats are considered instant text messages, not SMS (Short Message Service), which typically have more of a delayed response time. a) Select someone from your Contacts or Recent lists . b) Click TEXT CHAT. c) A request to reply will be sent to your contact. Once accepted, you can start chatting by using the keyboard on the back of your remote . Simply type your message and press SEND . You will see your message, along with your contacts response, onscreen as the conversation continues . Press the Unlock button on the remote keyboard to enable typing . Text Chat Options Views You can change the layout of your screen depending on your viewing preference . For instance, you can expand the screen that your TV program is on while minimizing the chat screen and vice versa . Personalize what you see by selecting from several configurations . You have the option to change your screen views at any time, as many times as you wish . To change the layout of your chat section, select VIEWS at the bottom of the screen or press the Views button on your remote to toggle through the choices . Helpful Hints for Text Chats While you are typing, be careful not to press any buttons on the front of your remote. This will lock the remote and you will have to unlock to resume typing . After 4 hours, your text chat will automatically end. You will be offered the option to CONTINUE if you want to keep chatting . You can make and accept text chats while watching TV. Simply initiate or accept a text chat as you normally would then use your remote to select VIEWS on screen . Choose the view thats right for you . Calls and Chats 37 Incoming Calls and Chats If youre signed in to use Skype on TV and a call comes in while youre watching a TV program, you have the choice to ACCEPT WITH VIDEO, ACCEPT WITH AUDIO or DECLINE . You will see an onscreen message letting you know who is calling and if the request is a video call, audio call or text chat . If you dont make a selection after 2 minutes, the incoming message box will disappear . Whether you are watching regular or live TV, On Demand or your DVR, you can accept or initiate a call and the TV program will continue to play while you are on the call or text chatting . a) When you have an incoming call or chat, a request to answer the call or chat appears on the screen . Continue by selecting the contact . If you do nothing, the contact will disappear from the screen within a few minutes . b) For video and audio calls, you can click DECLINE to ignore the call or ACCEPT WITH AUDIO to answer with just audio or ACCEPT WITH VIDEO to enjoy a face-
to-face video call. Keep in mind, when you accept a call, you are choosing what you will share (either audio or video), not what you will see . So for instance, when you accept a video call with audio, youll see your contacts video, but you will only share via audio . Remember that even if you accept as an audio call, you still have the option of turning on video at any time during the call . c) For a text chat, click IGNORE or REPLY to begin chatting . 38 Calls and Chats Helpful Hints for Incoming Calls and Chats Please note that there is a difference between your XFINITY Voice (telephone) calls and your video/audio calls coming through Skype on TV. The Caller ID notification from XFINITY Voice will appear in the center of your screen while callers using Skype on TV will appear in the upper right corner of your screen. At this time, you cant receive XFINITY Voice calls using Skype on TV. To learn how to disable your XFINITY Voice (telephone) Caller ID while using Skype on TV, please visit http://xfinity.comcast.net/learn/voice/
If youre not signed in, you wont receive any caller notifications from your Skype on TV service. Call Waiting If you are on a call or text chatting and another call comes in, you can put the call on hold to answer the incoming call by using the call waiting option . 39 a) When a request to answer an incoming call or chat appears while youre on another call, you have the choice to accept the call or decline it . If you accept the incoming call, the first call will be put on hold automatically . b) If you do nothing, the contact will disappear from the screen within a few minutes . c) After accepting the call, your screen view will reflect the new caller addition . Change this layout using the View button on your remote or press VIEWS at the bottom of your screen . d) The SWITCH option on the bottom of your screen allows you to switch between the two callers . Please note only two calls can be active at once, so you can have just one call on hold while speaking to another person . 40 Features Contacts Use your list of contacts to start connecting with family, friends and colleagues . If you chose to sync your XFINITY and Skype contacts during activation (see page 52 for details), all of these contacts can now be accessed from here . If you chose to skip syncing, you can go to Settings > Profile > Sync Contacts at any time to merge your contacts . From the Contacts screen, you can view and manage the following:
Available Suggestions Pending All Contacts Favorites Add Contact Custom Groups (not available at this time) You can also visit XFINITY.com > Connect > Sign In > My Account > Contacts to modify any of these:
Favorites (add/delete) Custom Groups (add/delete) Duplicate contacts (remove/merge) Contact details (edit) If you manage your XFINITY or Skype contacts online, any changes you make will be reflected here. These updates will appear the next time you sign in or sync . Features 41 Access your Contacts Start by selecting CONTACTS Yellow indicates the current selection. Blue indicates the number of new items since your last sign-in. Available View contacts that are currently online and have set their status as Available status set as Away or Do not Disturb will also appear here . If a contact has set their status as Offline or have not signed in, they will not appear under Available . If all of your contacts are currently Offline or
. Contacts that have their have not signed in, the Available option wont appear on the Contacts menu . a) Select Available from the Contacts menu . b) All of your available contacts are then displayed . To call one of these contacts, simply select and choose how you would like to connect . 42 Features Suggestions Here youll find people you may know. This list includes your XFINITY contacts that have a Skype account, but who are not yet connected to you via Skype or Skype on TV . You can send invitations to these individuals and, if they accept your invitations, they will be added to your contacts . If there are no suggestions, this option wont appear on the Contacts menu . a) Select Suggestions from the Contacts menu . b) Select a profile from the list of suggestions . c) To add an individual as a contact, select Send an Invitation to Connect. Or, you can choose Not Interested to ignore and remove from future suggestions . d) Before sending the invitation, you can add a personalized note (up to 512 characters) or send the default message. Features 43 Pending The Pending menu displays other Skype users who have sent you invitations to connect . If there are no pending contacts, this option wont appear in the Contacts menu . a) Select Pending from the Contacts menu . b) Youll see a list of individuals who have sent you invitations to connect . You wont be able to add or remove Favorites on your TV at this time . To manage your Favorites online, visit XFINITY.com > Connect >
Sign In > My Account > Contacts . Glyph If you add or remove Favorites online, the changes will appear on TV the next time you sign in or sync . Add Contact Expand your contacts by inviting family and friends who are also Skype users . After a contact has accepted your invitation to connect, the addition will automatically appear in your contacts . a) Select Add Contact from the Contacts menu . b) Enter a persons Skype Name or email address, then click SEARCH SKYPE . c) Select the contact to send an invitation to connect . If youd like, you can personalize the message before sending . Features 45 c) Once you click SEND, your invitation is on its way and you can add another . Helpful Hints for Adding Contacts You can invite any Skype user to connect with you as a contact. Remind family and friends that its easy (and free) to set up a Skype account. After a contact has accepted your invitation to connect, the addition will automatically appear in your contacts . For information on syncing your contacts, please see Profile Settings on page 49 . 4646 Features Custom Groups Custom Groups allow you to communicate with personalized groups of contacts . Currently, these are read-only lists that display your XFINITY and Skype contacts. They cant be edited nor can you make group connections from your TV at this time . Find a Contact a) Check to make sure the keyboard isnt locked by pressing the Unlock button . Press any alphabet key to trigger the Find feature . The Contacts screen will be displayed . Enter a contacts name or Skype Name . b) As you type, matching entries are displayed . Helpful Hints for Finding Contacts To expand choices, enter fewer characters. To reduce choices, enter more characters. Features 47 Recent See your recent activity including the type of connection (video, audio or text) and contact name . The most recent are listed first . To change the length of time that calls and chats are saved, go to Settings > Profile Settings > Manage Conversations . Connect with a Recent Contact a) Select a contact from the Recent list to display the profile . b) You can choose how youd like to connect: VIDEO CALL, AUDIO CALL or TEXT CHAT. 48 Features Notifications Notifications are helpful alerts and updates that are displayed until an action is taken . For instance, a system update will remain in your list until you download the software . Other examples include:
Contact request: Accept or decline the invite or block from future contact . Software updates: Download security and feature enhancements, to optimize performance . Customized alerts provide helpful birthday reminders so you can call or send a message right on time . View and Respond to a Notification a) Review your list of notifications then select the one you want to respond to . b) A message box provides the details of the notification . Simply click the desired action and move on to the next . Features 49 Settings Visit Settings to modify your profile, including privacy settings, your name, photo and more. Or adjust a system setting related to your connections and equipment . Select Settings then choose to adjust your Profile or System Settings . Profile Settings Profile Settings are optional settings that you can change at any time . Personalize your profile by editing any or all of these:
Edit Name This is the name your contacts see while youre using Skype on TV . Change this name by entering a new one, then click SAVE . Set Picture The default picture shown with your profile is your existing Skype avatar (if you have one). You can replace this by taking a new picture here . For best results, dont move while taking the picture and stay within the onscreen frame. Once youve taken a picture, you can choose to save or re-take as many times as youd like . Once saved, this new photo will appear on your TV profile and as your Skype avatar . 50 Features Set Security You have the choice of entering your personal password every time you sign in, or it can be automatically filled in for you .
- Choose Password Required for Sign-In for the most secure measure of privacy and you will be prompted to enter your password every time you sign in .
- Select Password Not Required for Sign-In if youre not sharing this system with other household members, or if you dont mind other household users viewing your profile (including conversations and contacts).
- For added security, youll be prompted to re-enter your password after 7 days of inactivity . Helpful Hints for Security If you choose to remain signed in, be aware that anyone in your household (family members, babysitters, roommates) will be able to access your contacts, view your notifications, recent calls and profile settings until you sign out . If youre concerned about privacy, allow only people you know to contact you versus anyone using Skype on TV or Skype . Go to Settings > Profile > Privacy Settings . Although there are currently no parental controls for Skype on TV, you can ensure safety measures by not allowing your children to have their own profiles and by signing out after each use . Visit Profile > Sign Out . Features 51 Edit Skype Name Registered users of Skype are identified by a unique Skype Name, which may be listed in the Skype directory (pending your privacy settings). To change your Skype Name, use your remote . Youll have to enter your Skype Password to confirm the change . Be aware that this name change will also be reflected on your Skype account online . If you enter a name thats already in use by another Skype subscriber, youll be asked to enter another name and try again . Privacy Settings Select who can contact you from the Skype directory while using Skype on TV . Allow only my personal contacts to call me lets only your Skype on TV contacts call or text you . Allow anyone to call me makes it possible for anyone from the Skype directory to contact you . Please note that if you choose this option, it will also apply to your Skype settings while youre online (using your computer) or using a mobile device . Manage Conversations You have the option of saving conversationscalls and textsfor up to one year or until you delete them . Go to Recent once you are signed in to view and delete any or all of these conversations at any time . 52 Features Sync Contacts By syncing your contacts, youll be able to access your XFINITY and Skype contacts from one place, making it even faster and easier to find a family member or friend . Syncing cannot be undone . It will merge your XFINITY and Skype contact lists . Before you begin, double check that youre signed in under your own profile to make sure that youre syncing the right contacts .
