Your friend's V Mail light will flash to let them know they have a message. Listen to messages you receive either privately in Whisper mode or Out Loud so everyone can hear. You can send messages to a specific friend or groups of friends using a 3-digit PIN number. You and your friend(s) just agree on a 3-digit Active PIN to use and you can send private messages to each other. You can choose from up to 64 different Active PIN combinations (1-2-3, 2-3-4, 1-4-4, etc...) with each digit being between 1 and 4. Press the ON / OFF button in the down position to turn ON and you will hear V Mail Active. (See illustration 1) To turn OFF your V Mail, press the ON / OFF button into the out position.
(See itustration 2) Note: Always turn OFF your V Mail when not in use to conserve batteries. Wustration 1 IMPORTANT: Always make sure HMlustration 2 V Mait is in the Start Menu before beginning any new Record Message, Play New or Saved Message, Select Active PIN and Change Playback Volume operation. The Start Menu is identified when you hear V Mail Active. Indicates begins at the Start Menu.
@RECORD MESSAGE: Hold the RECORD button and you will hear Record V Mail then a beep sound to fet you know to begin recording your 4 second message. You will hear 2 beeps when V Mail is finished recording. You will now hear Send V Mail to All", (See Send V Mail section}
LISTEN TO YOUR RECORDED MESSAGE: To listen to a tMessage you just fecorded, press the PLAY button after hearing Send V Mail to AN. You will then hear the message you recorded followed by Send V Mail to All again. If you do not like the message you recorded and want to record another message, wait several seconds until you hear V Mail Active and then press RECORD again. NOTE: if you press the RECORD button and you hear Send Active, Select to Delete V Mail this means that your V Mail is still trying to send a previous recorded message. You cannot record and send another message untit the earlier message has either finished sending or is deleted.
+H you want V Mail to continue trying to send this message - do not press any buttons for several seconds until you hear "V Mail Active,
* If you want to delete the unsent message and record a new one - press the RECORD button again and you will hear Delete V Mail, Record V Mail followed by a beep sound to let you know your unsent message is deleted and that you can begin recording your new message. f SEND V Mail: There are two ways to send your recorded message. 1. SEND V Mait TO ALL:
After you have recorded your V Mail message, you will hear Send V Mail to Al. To send your V Mail message to all users in range, press the SEND button and you will hear V Mai Sent. 2. SEND V Mail TO A PIN NUMBER:
After you have recorded your V Mail message, you will hear Send V Mail to All. To send your private message to a user's PIN number, press the MODE button after hearing Send V Mail to All and your will hear Select PIN, A. Press the 3-digit PIN number you would like to send the message to. B. if your enter the PIN numbers too slowly or do not press 3 PIN numbers, you will hear Select PIN" again. (Go to Step A. above) C. Affer you have pressed 3 PIN numbers, you will hear Send V Mail to PINE-#-#"
D. If this is the PIN you would like to send this message to, press the SEND button and you will hear V Mail Sent. EI this is the incorrect PIN number, wait several seconds until you hear Select PIN and go to step A. above. + V Mail transmits messages through walls, but certain types of construction materials may prevent V Mail's signats from wansmitting through them or dramatically reduce the signal's transmission distance. RECEIVE AND PLAY MESSAGES RECEIVE MESSAGES: There are 2 different ways to receive a message. A public message or a private message. 1. Public Messages: These messages are received and can be listened to by all users within the range of the sender. 2. Private Messages: Only users that have the same secret 3 digit active PIN number can receive and listen to these messages. Only one active PIN number can be set at a time. SELECT ACTIVE PIN NUMBER:
A. Hold the SEND button and you will hear Select Active PIN. B. Press the 3-digit active PIN number you wouid like to use. If you do not enter the PIN numbers fast enough or da not press 3 PIN fumbers, you will hear Select Active PIN" and you must re-enter your PIN D. After you have pressed 3 PIN numbers, you will hear "PIN#-#-# Active. This will automatically return you to the Start Menu without saying "V Mail Active E. If this is not the active PIN you would like to use, go to step A) above and repeat MESSAGE ALERT LIGHT:
Messace alert light flashes siowly: Your message alert light will flash slowly and you will hear You've Got V Mail when you receive a new message. Message alert light flashes quickly: Your message alert light will flash quickly to indicate that your 4 maitboxes are full and that you cannot receive any new messages. To receive any new messages. you must first delete at least 1 saved Message by following the Delete Message section. NOTE: if you do not press any buttons for 6 seconds. V Mail wil automatically go to sleep and the message alert light will stop flashing. This sleep function conserves V Mails batteries. When you press any button, V Mail wilt wake up and the message alert light will flash again to remind you of the new message or full mailbox. piay NEW MESSAGE: Whenever your message indicator light flashes slowly, hold the PLAY button to listen to your new message. V Mail will automatically assign it a V Mail mailbox number 1 through 4 by saying New V Mail# and play the new message. To listen to this message again, follow the Play Saved Message instructions. puay SAVED MESSAGE: You must listen to all new Messages first before listening to a saved message. When there are no new messages and the PLAY button is held, you will hear Select V Mail. Press the V Mail mailbox number
(1 through 4) assigned to the message you want to listen to. You will hear V Mail# and then the message you selected. OELETE MESSAGE: To delete a new or saved message, press the MODE button immediately after listening to the message and you will hear Select to delete V Mail#. Press the MODE button again to confirm you want to delete the message from your mailbox. NOTE: if you accidentally press the MODE button after listening to a new or saved message and do not want it deleted, do not press any buttons for six seconds until you hear V Mail Active. FORWARD MESSAGE: To forward a new or saved message, press the SEND button immediately after listening to the message and you will hear Send V Mail to Al. Press the SEND button if you would iike to send this message to all or press the MODE button if you would like to send it to a specific PIN number.
(See Send V Mail to a specific PIN number section) CHANGE PLAYBACK VOLUME: Hold the MODE button to alternate between the Whisper and Out Loud playback volumes. V Mail will automatically return to the Start Menu without saying V Mail Active. In Whisper mode, place V Mails speaker next to your ear so only you can hear the private messages being played back. In Out Loud mode, everyone near you can hear the messages played back. b
