RCWS30 IB 01 Step 3: Link the Weather Station with the Outdoor Wireless Sensor Wireless Weather Station with Outdoor Sensor Users Guide Getting Started Step 1: Set Up the Outdoor Wireless Sensor The weather stations wireless sensor transmits outdoor temperature information to the weather station. You can hang it using the notch on its back or simply place it on a flat surface. Keep the following placement pointers in mind when choosing a location for your wireless sensor:
Keep the wireless sensor within 98ft (30m) of the weather station. Try to minimize as much as possible the number of obstacles between the sensor and the weather station these will decrease the wireless sensors range. Place the wireless sensor so that it avoids direct sunlight and moisture as much as possible. Avoid exposing the sensor to temperatures below 30F (35C). Extreme cold shortens battery life and transmission range. To install batteries in the wireless sensor:
1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the 2. wireless sensor. Insert 2 AAA batteries (not included). Follow the+
and indications printed on the compartment. Note: If the wireless sensor is going to be exposed to below-freezing temperatures, alkaline batteries are recommended. Once the wireless sensor has batteries, its indicator blinks every minute, which means the sensor is transmitting temperature information!
Step 2: Power the Weather Station Your can power your weather station by installing 3 AAA batteries (not included) or by plugging the USB power cable into a USB power source. To install batteries:
1. Open the battery compartment on the back 2. of the clock. Insert three AAA batteries (not included). Follow the

Note: When the weather station is running on batteries alone (i.e.., when its not plugged in), the display will time out after 8 seconds to extend battery life. Battery Precaution: Always remove old, weak or worn-out batteries promptly and recycle or dispose of them in accordance with Local and National Regulations. DC 5V jack Battery compartment To use the power adapter:
1. Plug the included USB power cable into the DC 5V jack on the back of the weather station. 2. Plug the other end into a USB power source. TIP: Installing batteries is a good idea even if youre plugging your weather station in for power. Batteries will make sure your settings (like time and alarm) are saved even if theres a power outage.

weather stations display flashes while the weather station and wireless sensor are linking. The linking process can take up to 3 minutes. Once the two are linked, the reception indicator disappears from the weather stations display and the weather station shows the current outdoor temperature. Wireless Sensor Troubleshooting If your weather station display is having trouble establishing a consistent connection with the wireless sensor, try the following steps to resolve the connection issue. Try moving the wireless sensor and weather station closer to each other. The maximum distance for a reliable connection is 98ft (30m). Avoid placing the weather station or sensor close to large metal objects or household appliances. These can interfere with the wireless link. Make sure the weather station and wireless sensor are communicating on the same wireless channel. By default, they are both set to CH1. Confirm that the OUTDOOR section of the weather station display says CH1 directly below the reception indicator

If youre experiencing interference on one of the channels, set the weather station and wireless sensor to a different channel. Then replace the batteries and compartment door. Press the UP button on the weather station until the channel shown in the OUTDOOR section of the display matches the channel you chose on the sensor
(CH1, CH2, or CH3). To manually start the weather station linking procedure with the wireless sensor, press and hold the UP button on the top of the weather station for 3 seconds. To make the wireless sensor link instantly to the weather station in linking mode, remove the sensors batteries then put them back in quickly. Step 4: Set the Date and Time When you first plug it in, the weather stations display shows 00:00. 1. Press and hold the MODE button on the top of the weather station to enter time/
date set mode. The year digits blink. MODE UP DOWN MAX MIN o oC/ F LIGHT SNOOZE 2. Use the UP and DOWN buttons on top of the weather station to adjust the year. Press the MODE button to set it and move to the month. 3. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the month. Press the MODE button to set it and 4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the date. Then press MODE to set it and move move to the date. to the 12-hour / 24-hour setting. 5. Press the UP or DOWN button to switch between 12- and 24-hour time formats (for example, 5:00 pm in 12-hour format would be 17:00 in 24-hour format). By default, the clock uses the 24-hour format. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the hour for the alarm. Press the MODE button to set it and move to the minutes. 4. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the minutes for the alarm. Press the MODE button to set it and move to the amount of snooze delay. 5. Use the UP and DOWN buttons to adjust the amount of time each press of the SNOOZE button delays the alarm (up to 20 minutes). Press the MODE button to finish setting the alarm. To turn the alarm on/off: Press the MODE button so that the display shows the alarm icon appears in the time and AL. Press the UP button once to turn the alarm on. The display when the alarm is on. To turn the alarm off, press the UP button again. The disappears. Notes:
The alarm sounds for two minutes when activated. Press LIGHT/SNOOZE to activate snooze. The alarm indicator remains on the clock icon display. Press any other button to turn the alarm off. Switching Temperature Display Between Celsius and Fahrenheit By default, the weather station displays temperature in degrees Celsius. To switch between degrees Fahrenheit and Celsius: Press the C / F button on the top of the weather station. Viewing the Humidity and Temperature Max / Min Displays The weather station provides a history of its ambient indoor temperature/humidity and outdoor temperature. To show the maximum or minimum weather station humidity/temperature and outdoor sensor temperature: Press the MAX / MIN button on the top of the weather station. One press displays the maximum weather station humidity/temperature and wireless sensor temperature. Two presses displays the minimum weather station humidity/temperature and wireless sensor temperature. Three presses returns the display to the current weather station humidity/temperature and wireless sensor temperature. To reset the weather stations maximum and minimum history: Press and hold the MAX /
MIN button for 2 seconds. Tour of the Weather Station Alarm Clock UP MODE DOWN MAX MIN Clock, top panel Top MODE button switches the display between clock, alarm, and date modes. UP and DOWN buttons adjusts the current time, date, or alarm time when setting. UP switches the receiving channel for the wireless sensor between CH1, CH2, and CH3. DOWN switches the temperature reading between Celsius and Fahrenheit. MAX / MIN button shows the maximum and minimum weather station temperature/
humidity and outdoor sensor temperature. Press repeatedly to cycle through the maximum, minimum, and current values. Press and hold to reset the weather stations history. C / F button changes between Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature display when the time is displayed. LIGHT / SNOOZE button snoozes the alarm when its sounding and activates the display backlight when the clock is running on battery power. SNOOZE oC/ F LIGHT o Display DAY shows the day of the week. AM/PM indicates the time displayed is AM or PM (does not apply to 24-hour format). Time digits show the current time or alarm time
(or setting values when adjusting). The alarm icon (
FORECAST shows the weather stations estimated forecast based on the ambient outdoor temperature and humidity. COMFORT indicates whether the air is humid, good (comfortable), or dry. DATE and MONTH show the current date.

DC 5V jack connects to the provided USB power cable to power the weather station. Wireless Outdoor Sensor Battery compartment holds 2 AAA batteries (not included) to power the wireless sensor. 1-2-3 switch (not shown, inside the battery compartment) sets the wireless channel for transmitting the wireless sensors data to the weather station. Notch hangs on a nail or tack to attach the sensor where you want to install it. Indicator blinks every minute to show that the sensor is powered on and transmitting. INDOOR shows the current indoor ambient temperature and humidity. OUTDOOR shows the outdoor temperature as well as the wireless reception and channel indicator for the wireless sensor. If the battery of the wireless sensor is low, the low battery symbol will appear in this area. Weather station , back Battery compartment DC 5V jack Station mto sans fil avec capteur extrieur Guide de lutilisateur Guide de dmarrage tape 1 : Configuration du capteur sans fil Le capteur sans fil de la station mto transmet les informations sur la temprature extrieure la station mto. Il est possible de laccrocher laide de lencoche situe sur son dos ou simplement de le placer sur une surface plane. Garder lesprit les conseils de placement suivants pour choisir un emplacement pour le capteur sans fil :
Garder le capteur sans fil moins de 30 m (98 pi) de la station mto. Essayer de minimiser autant que possible le nombre dobstacles entre le capteur et la station mto ceux-ci rduisent la porte du capteur sans fil. Placer le capteur sans fil de manire viter autant que possible la lumire directe du soleil et lhumidit. viter dexposer le capteur des tempratures infrieures -35 C (-30 F). Le froid extrme rduit la dure de vie des piles et la porte de transmission. Installation des piles dans le capteur sans fil :
1. Ouvrir le compartiment piles situ au dos du Capteur sans fil Devant Dos capteur sans fil. 2. Insrer les 2 piles AAA (non incluses). Respecter les indications + et imprimes dans le compartiment. Remarque : Si le capteur sans fil doit tre expos des tempratures infrieures au point de conglation, il est recommand dutiliser des piles alcalines. Encoche Voyant Compartiment piles 3. Refermer le compartiment piles. Une fois que le capteur sans fil est muni de piles, son indicateur clignote toutes les minutes, ce qui signifie que le capteur transmet des informations sur la temprature !
tape 2 : Alimentation de la station mto Il est possible dalimenter la station mto en installant 3 piles AAA (non incluses) ou en branchant le cble dalimentation USB dans une source dalimentation USB. Installation des piles :
1. Ouvrir le compartiment piles situ au dos du rveil. 2. Insrer les trois piles AAA (non incluses). Respecter les indications + et - imprimes dans le compartiment. Station mto, dos Compartiment 3. Refermer le compartiment piles. Remarque : Lorsque la station mto fonctionne sur des piles seules (cest--dire lorsquelle nest pas branche), laffichage steint au bout de 8 secondes pour prolonger la dure de vie des piles. Pour ractiver laffichage, appuyer sur le bouton LIGHT-SNOOZE (Lumire-rptition). Prcautions propos des piles : Toujours enlever les piles anciennes, faibles ou usages et les recycler rapidement ou les mettre au rebut en conformit avec les rglementations locales et nationales. Prise 5 V c.c. piles tape 3 : Liaison de la station mto avec le capteur sans fil

Une fois que les deux sont relis, lindicateur de rception disparat de lcran de la station mto et la station mto affiche la temprature extrieure actuelle. Dpannage du capteur sans fil Si lcran de /la station mto a du mal tablir une connexion cohrente avec le capteur sans fil, essayer les tapes suivantes pour rsoudre le problme de connexion. Essayer de rapprocher le capteur sans fil et la station mto. La distance maximale pour une connexion fiable est de 30 mtres. viter de placer la station mto ou le capteur proximit de gros objets mtalliques ou dappareils lectromnagers. Ceux-ci peuvent interfrer avec la liaison sans fil. Sassurer que la station mto et le capteur sans fil communiquent sur le mme canal sans fil. Par dfaut, ils sont tous deux rgls sur CH1. Confirmer que la section OUTDOOR
(Extrieur) de lcran de la station mto indique CH1 directement sous lindicateur de rception (
). Ensuite, vrifier le commutateur de canal du capteur sans fil. Ce commutateur se trouve derrire les piles dans le compartiment piles du capteur. La station mto et le capteur sans fil offrent diffrents canaux sans fil. Si des interfrences sur lun des canaux sont rencontres, rgler la station mto et le capteur sans fil sur un canal diffrent. Le commutateur de canal du capteur est situ lintrieur du compartiment piles, derrire les piles. Retirer le couvercle du compartiment et les piles, et rgler linterrupteur sur le canal suivant. Remettre ensuite les piles et le couvercle du compartiment en place. Appuyer sur le bouton UP de la station mto jusqu ce que le canal affich dans la section OUTDOOR (Extrieur) de lcran corresponde au canal choisi sur le capteur (CH1, CH2, ou CH3). Pour lancer manuellement la procdure de liaison de la station mto avec le capteur sans fil, appuyer sur le bouton UP (Haut) sur le dessus de la station mto et le maintenir enfonc pendant 3 secondes. Pour que le capteur sans fil soit instantanment reli la station mto en mode de liaison, retirer les piles du capteur puis les remettre rapidement en place. tape 4 : Rglage de la date et de lheure Lorsquil est branch pour la premire fois, lcran de la station mto indique 00:00. 1. Appuyer et maintenir enfonc le bouton MODE sur le dessus de la station mto pour entrer en mode de rglage de la date et de lheure. Les chiffres des annes clignotent. MODE UP DOWN MAX MIN o oC/ F LIGHT SNOOZE 2. Appuyer sur les boutons UP (Haut) ou DOWN (Bas) situs sur le dessus de la station mto pour rgler lanne. Appuyer sur le bouton Mode pour confirmer et passer au rglage des mois. 3. Utiliser les boutons UP et DOWN pour rgler le mois. Appuyer sur le bouton Mode pour confirmer et passer au rglage de la date. 4. Utiliser les boutons UP et DOWN pour rgler la date. Puis appuyer sur MODE pour confirmer et passer au rglage 12 heures / 24 heures. 5. Appuyer sur le bouton UP et DOWN pour basculer entre les formats 12 et 24 heures (par exemple, 5 pm en format 12 heures serait 17 h en format 24 heures). Par dfaut, lhorloge utilise le format 24 heures. Appuyer sur le bouton MODE pour choisir sa prfrence et passer ltape suivante. 6. Utiliser les boutons UP et DOWN pour rgler lheure. Appuyer sur le bouton MODE pour confirmer lheure et passer aux minutes. 7. Utiliser les boutons UP et DOWN pour rgler les minutes. Puis appuyer sur MODE pour terminer le rglage de la date et de lheure. Wireless sensor Front Back Pour utiliser ladaptateur dalimentation :
1. Brancher le cble dalimentation USB inclus dans la prise DC 5V (5 V c.c.) situe larrire Notch de la station mto. 2. Brancher lautre extrmit sur une source dalimentation USB. CONSEIL : Linstallation de piles est une bonne ide, mme si la station mto est branche pour lalimenter. Les piles permettent de sauvegarder les rglages (comme lheure et lalarme) mme en cas de coupure de courant. Indicator Battery compartment Utilisation quotidienne Rglage de lalarme 1. Appuyer sur le bouton MODE sur le dessus de la station mto pour passer laffichage de lalarme. 12:00 AL apparat sur lcran. 2. Appuyer et maintenir enfonc le bouton MODE jusqu ce que les chiffres des heures commencent clignoter. 3. Utiliser les boutons UP (Haut) et DOWN (Bas) pour rgler lheure de lalarme. Appuyer sur le bouton MODE pour confirmer et passer au rglage des minutes. 4. Utiliser les boutons UP et DOWN pour rgler les minutes de lalarme. Appuyer sur le bouton Mode pour confirmer et passer la dure de la rptition. 5. Utiliser les boutons UP et DOWN pour ajuster la dure que chaque pression sur le bouton SNOOZE retarde lalarme (jusqu 20 minutes). Appuyer sur le bouton MODE pour terminer le rglage de lalarme. Pour activer / dsactiver lalarme : Appuyer sur le bouton MODE pour que lcran affiche lheure de lalarme et AL. Appuyer une fois sur le bouton UP pour activer lalarme. Licne de lalarme apparat sur lcran quand lalarme est active. Pour dsactiver lalarme, appuyer nouveau sur le bouton UP. Licne Remarques :
Lalarme retentit pendant deux minutes lorsquelle est active. Appuyer sur LIGHT/SNOOZE (Lumire/rptition) pour activer la rptition. Lindicateur disparat. dalarme reste affich sur lcran du rveil. Un appui sur nimporte quel autre bouton dsactive lalarme. Commutation de laffichage de la temprature entre degrs Celsius et Fahrenheit Par dfaut, la station mto affiche la temprature en degrs Celsius. Pour commuter entre les degrs Fahrenheit et Celsius : Appuyer sur le bouton C / F sur le dessus de la station mto. Visualisation des affichages de lhumidit et de la temprature Max / Min La station mtorologique fournit un historique de la temprature/humidit ambiante intrieure et de la temprature extrieure. Pour afficher lhumidit/la temprature maximale ou minimale de la station mto et la temprature extrieure du capteur : Appuyer sur le bouton MAX / MIN sur le dessus de la station mto. Une pression permet dafficher lhumidit/temprature maximale de la station mto et la temprature du capteur sans fil. Deux pressions affichent lhumidit/temprature minimale de la station mto et la temprature du capteur sans fil. Trois pressions rtablissent laffichage de lhumidit/temprature de la station mto et de la temprature du capteur sans fil actuelles. Pour rinitialiser lhistorique des maximales et minimales de la station mto : Appuyer sur le bouton MAX / MIN et le maintenir enfonc pendant 2 secondes. Rveil, panneau suprieur Prsentation du rveil de la station mtorologique Dessus Le bouton MODE permet de basculer entre les modes horloge, alarme et date. Les boutons UP (Haut) et DOWN (Bas) permettent de rgler lheure, la date ou lheure dalarme en cours lors du rglage. Le bouton UP permet de changer le canal de rception du capteur sans fil entre CH1, CH2 et CH3. Le bouton DOWN permet de commuter la lecture de la temprature entre Celsius et Fahrenheit. Le bouton MAX / MIN indique le maximum et le minimum de la temprature/humidit de la station mto et de la temprature du capteur extrieur. Appuyer plusieurs fois pour faire dfiler les valeurs maximales, minimales et actuelles. Maintenir cette touche enfonce pour rinitialiser lhistorique de la station mto. Le bouton C / F permet de commuter laffichage de la temprature en degrs Fahrenheit laffichage de la temprature en degrs Celsius lorsque lheure est affiche. Le bouton LIGHT / SNOOZE (clairage / rptition) permet deffectuer la rptition de lalarme lor-
squelle est active et dactiver le rtro-clairage de laffichage lorsque le rveil fonctionne sur piles. MAX MIN DOWN MODE SNOOZE oC/ F LIGHT UP o cran DAY Affiche le jour de la semaine. AM/PM indique si lheure affiche est AM ou PM
(ne sapplique pas au format 24 heures). Les chiffres de lheure indiquent lheure actuelle, lheure de lalarme (ou les valeurs de rglage lors de lajustement). Licne de lalarme (
) apparat quand lalarme est active. FORECAST (Prvisions mtorologiques) indique les prvisions de la station mto bases sur la temprature et lhumidit extrieures ambiantes. COMFORT (Confort) indique si lair est humide, bon (agrable) ou sec. DATE et MONTH (Mois) indiquent la date actuelle. INDOOR (Intrieur) indique la temprature et lhumidit intrieures actuelles. OUTDOOR (Extrieur) indique la temprature extrieure ainsi que la rception sans fil et lindi-
cateur de canal pour le capteur sans fil. Si la pile du capteur sans fil est faible, le symbole de pile faible apparatra dans cette zone. Dos Le compartiment piles contient 3 piles AAA (non incluses) pour alimenter la station mto. La prise DC 5V (5 V c.c.) permet de connect-
er le cble dalimentation USB fourni pour alimenter la station mto. Station mto, dos Capteur sans fil Le compartiment piles contient 2 piles AAA (non incluses) pour alimenter le cap-
teur sans fil. Le commutateur 1-2-3 (non illustr, lintrieur du compartiment piles) rgle le canal sans fil pour la transmission des donnes du capteur sans fil la station mtorologique. Lencoche permet de fixer le capteur lendroit souhait pour son installation. Lindicateur clignote toutes les minutes pour indiquer que le capteur est sous ten-

tura exterior a la estacin meteorolgica. Puede colgarlo utilizando la ranura ubicada en la parte posterior o simplemente colocarlo sobre una superficie plana. Tenga en cuenta las sigui-
entes sugerencias prcticas de instalacin al elegir una ubicacin para el sensor inalmbrico:
Mantenga el sensor a una distancia mxima de 98 pies (30 metros) de la estacin meteorolgica. Intente minimizar lo ms posible la cantidad de obstculos entre el sensor y la estacin meteorolgica, ya que se reducir el alcance del sensor inalmbrico. Coloque el sensor inalmbrico de forma tal que se evite lo mximo posible la exposicin a la luz solar directa y la humedad. Evite la exposicin del sensor a temperaturas inferiores a 30 F (35 C). Una vez que el sensor inalmbrico tenga colocada las bateras, su indicador parpadear cada 1 minuto, lo que significa que el sensor est transmitiendo informacin de temperatura. Paso 2: Alimentacin de la estacin inalmbrica Puede proporcionar alimentacin a la estacin meteorolgica colocando 3 bateras AAA (no incluidas) o enchufando el cable de alimentacin USB a una fuente de alimentacin USB. Utilice los botones UP y DOWN para ajustar la cantidad de tiempo que se retrasa la alarma cada vez que oprima el botn SNOOZE (REPETICIN DE ALARMA) (hasta 20 minutos). Oprima el botn MODE para finalizar el ajuste de la alarma. Para activar/desactivar la alarma: Oprima el botn MODE de forma tal que la pantalla muestra la hora de la alarma y la palabra AL. Oprima el botn UP una vez para activar la alarma. Aparecer el la alarma, oprima el botn UP nuevamente. El Notas:
La alarma suena durante 2 minutos cuando est activada. Oprima LIGHT/SNOOZE para activar la repeticin de alarma. El indicador de alarma icono en la pantalla cuando la alarma est activada. Cambio de la visualizacin de temperatura entre grados Celsius y Fahrenheit De forma predeterminada, la estacin meteorolgica muestra la temperaturas en grados Celsius. Para cambiar entre grados Fahrenheit y Celsius: oprima el botn C / F ubicado en la parte superior de la estacin meteorolgica. Visualizacin de las pantallas de humedad y temperatura mximas/mnimas La estacin meteorolgica proporciona un historial de la temperatura/humedad interiores y la temperatura exterior. Para mostrar la temperatura/humedad mxima o mnima de la estacin meteorolgica y la temperatura del sensor exterior: oprima el botn MAX/MIN (MXIMO/MNIMO) ubicado en la parte superior de la estacin meteorolgica. Para restablecer el historial de valores mximos y mnimos de la estacin meteorolgica: mantenga oprimido el botn MAX/MIN durante 2 segundos.
