Q U I C K S T A R T G U I D E Instructions en franais ...........xx Instrucciones en espaol .........xx SP270 QSG 00 Getting to know Bluetooth Bluetooth wireless is a quick and easy way to connect a smartphone to a speaker or a headset. There are basically two steps to making Bluetooth work. PAIRING: The two devices get to know each other. Hi phone. Im a speaker. Hi. Im a phone. CONNECTING: The two devices do something together (like play music). This guide takes you through the steps to get started. 2 Step 1: Unpack Make sure the following items came in this package:
the LXS speaker an AC adapter Speaker back Step 2: Charge the LXS Before you start using the LXS speaker for the first time, its a good idea to charge it completely. To charge the speaker: Plug the included AC adapter into the DC IN jack on the speakers back panel. Plug the other end of the AC adapter into an AC outlet or surge protector. The charging indicator next to the DC IN jack is red while the speaker is charging. It turns green when the speaker is fully charged. Note: You can use the speaker while its charging. 3 Speaker top Step 3: Turn on Press and hold the the top of the speaker. button on The power-up tone sounds and the button starts blinking. After a few seconds, the speaker goes to Bluetooth pairing mode to set up with your smartphone. If you want to pair to a new device, give a short double-press to the starts blinking. button. The speaker gives a signal and the button Choose 808 LXS from the pairing options on your smartphone. (If its not in the list, choose Scan from your phones Bluetooth menu.) The speaker gives an audio signal when its finished pairing and connecting to your smartphone. The of the speaker turns solid blue. Note: The process of enabling Bluetooth and connecting varies from device to device. See your devices owners manual for more information and specific instructions. button on the top Bluetooth Wireless Connection Tips Make sure the Bluetooth capability of your device is turned on. Make sure theres nothing plugged into the speakers AUX IN jack when youre trying to use Bluetooth. The Bluetooth wireless connection works up to a range of roughly 33 feet (10 meters). This range may vary, however, based on other factors, such as room layout, wall material, obstacles, your devices Bluetooth performance, etc. If youre having problems connecting to this speaker, move closer to it. If your device asks you for a password to connect, use 0000. If youve paired your device with the speaker before but youre having trouble reconnecting when you turn the speaker back on, give a short press to the button while its flashing. The speaker will attempt to connect to a previously paired device. 5 Step 5: Play music Set your devices volume for music to 50%. Note: This is to make sure the sound from the speaker isnt too loud when you start streaming. 8:45PM Now playing Media volume Start playing music or other audio on your device. Within seconds, the speaker starts streaming the audio wirelessly via Bluetooth. To adjust the volume of your audio:
Press the VOLUME + and buttons on the top of the speaker (or use the volume controls on your phone). 8:45PM Using Bass Boost The LXS speaker has a Bass Boost feature that enhances the lower frequencies in your music. Bass Boost is turned on by default. Press the EQ button on the top of the speaker to toggle Bass Boost on and off. 6 Speaker back Using the Aux In input Use a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to connect the audio output from your device to the AUX IN audio input on the speakers back panel. The speaker automatically switches to the AUX IN audio, button on the top of and the the speaker turns solid blue. To listen to Bluetooth audio again, unplug the cable from the speakers AUX IN jack. The speaker will try to reconnect to the last Bluetooth device. Note: The EQ and VOLUME buttons stay lit while the AUX IN jack is in use these buttons work with an AUX IN source. The TRACK and PLAY/PAUSE buttons do not work while the AUX IN jack is in use, so they are not lit. 7 Using the Speakerphone This speaker has a built-in microphone, so you can use it for phone calls as well as music. Your phone will ring through the speaker when youre receiving a call. Speaker top Microphone button on top of the button lights when youre on the call. To answer/end the call: Press the speaker. The Note: Make sure youre close enough to the speakers built-in microphone so that the other person can hear you!
IMPORTANT: Not all phones support playback control and phone answer/end control. Check your phones user manual for more information if youre having trouble with these functions. Using the Power Bank This speaker has a built-in power bank, so you can use it to charge and power your phone or other portable device, even while you use the speaker. To charge your device: Plug your devices charging cable into the 5V USB jack on the back of the LXS speaker. 8 Speaker back Tour of the speaker Top VOLUME / + decrease or increase the volume of the speakers audio. EQ switches between bass boost and regular equalization. POWER/PAIR button turns the speaker on/off (press and hold) and puts the speaker into pairing mode (short double press). It also shows the Bluetooth status of the speaker:
fast blinking blue while pairing or reconnecting solid blue when paired or when the AUX IN jack is in use off when the speakers off. CALL button answers or ends calls on a Bluetooth-
connected phone. TRACK BACK, PLAY/PAUSE, and TRACK FWD buttons control playback of a paired Bluetooth music source (not all Bluetooth devices support this functionality; these buttons do not control playback for an AUX IN source). 9 Back 5V charges your mobile device when the LXS battery has enough power. Plug your devices charging cable into this jack to charge your device. DC IN jack connects to the provided AC adapter to plug the speaker into a wall outlet or surge protector. Charge indicator shows the charging status of the speaker:
