~ a Backward Button Power Indicator REMOTE CONTROLLER BATTERY INSTALLATION 1. Use the included screwdriver to open the battery cover. Rotate counter clockwise to loosen screw. 2. Insert 3 AA batteries into the remote. Make sure the batteries are installed in the correct polarity as indicated in the controller. Do not mix old and new batteries or batteries with different chemistries. 3. Reattach battery cover. CHARGING YOUR DRONE To charge your Quadrone, first disconnect the battery from the drone and slide it out of its holder. To do so, slide the battery cover out to access the battery. You can now remove the battery. Plug the provided USB charger into a USB port. Now connect the USB charger to the battery. The battery is now charging. The red light on the USB charger will turn on once the charging process has completed. Always charge your Quadrone under adult supervision and out of the reach of children. Charging time is approximately 90 minutes. When you are ready to fly your Quadrone again, reinsert the battery into its slot on the bottom of the drone. (Non-Rechargeable) 18 Hours ASSEMBLING THE DRONE 1. To install the landing gear, simply insert the landing gear into the bottom of the drone. The landing gear will snap in when fully inserted. 2. To install the crash guards, insert them into the slots at the end of each arm. Use the provided screw and screwdriver to secure the guard in place. J fg Screw position ENO lel otal No ations 1. Turn on your Quadrone by changing the switch on the back of the drone from OFF to ON. Place it on a flat surface. Do not move the Quadrone during the syncing process to ensure the gyroscope stays balanced. 2. Turn on your remote controller. The lights on the drone will begin to flash. After 5 seconds, the remote and the drone will begin to sync together. 3. Push the Throttle joystick down to its lowest position. Now move it up to its highest position and back down again to its lowest. The lights on the drone will stop flashing and turn on. The Quadrone and remote controller have been synced together. You are now ready to fly. If you are not going to use your Quadrone for an extended period of time, please take out the batteries in your remote controller. Potential battery leakage could occur and possibly damage the remote or create a fire hazard. FLIGHT CONTROLS
* Before flying your Quadrone, it is highly recommended that you familiarize yourself completely with its controls. Read through the instruction manual completely before attempting your first flight. AUTO TAKE OFF To start the propellers, simply press the Auto Take Off button. The propellers of your drone will start to spin. Elevation Push up on the throttle joystick. The drone will _ 3-I7 begin to ascend. os Pull down the throttle joystick. The drone will begin to descend. Turning Forward/Backward Aileron AUTO LAND Push the throttle joystick to the right. The Quadrone will turn to right. Push the throttle joystick to the left. The Quadrone will turn to left. Push the directional joystick to forward. The Quadrone will fly forward. Push the directional joystick down. The Quadrone will fly backwards. Push the directional joystick to the right. The Quadrone will fly to the right. Push the directional joystick to the left. The Quadrone will fly to left. When you are ready to finish flying your drone, press the Auto Land Button on your remote. The drone will slowly descend to the ground. Use the Directional Joystick to steer the drone to where you want it to land. When it touches down, the drones propellers will power down and stop spinning. EMERGENCY LANDING When pressed, the Emergency Stop Button will cut all power to your drone and it will immediately stop flying. Use this button for emergencies like if you are beginning to lose control of your drone. Please note when this button cuts the power to your drone, your drone will immediately fall from the sky. Try not to use this button when your drone is over people, trees, or water. This button is for emergencies, used only to prevent severe damage or loss of drone. PRACTICE TIPS Use these recommended practice exercises to become a better Quadrone pilot:
Elevation: Raise the Quadrone using the throttle joystick. Gradually lower the Quadrone so it lands softly to the ground. Direction: Move the Quadrone in a cross pattern using the directional joystick. Move forward, backward, left, right, and back to its original position. Turning: Turn the Quadrone in a throttle joystick. Turn left and right repeatedly, and back to its original position. Flying: Once you have mastered the previous three exercises, draw a circle on the ground. Practice flying within the confines of the circle. Narrow the circle as your skills progress. TRIMMING THE QUAD If your Quadrone is leaning to or favoring a side, you may need to use the trim feature to balance it out so it flies straight. If the Quadrone leans forward, press the Backward Trim button until it straightens out. Forward/Backward If the Quadrone leans back, press the Forward Trim If the Quadrone leans to the right, press the Left Aileron Trim button until it straightens out. If the Quadrone leans to the left, press the Right Aileron Trim button until it straightens out. button until it straightens out.
* If your drone is leaning to or favoring a side, you may need to recalibrate the drone to balance it out so it flies straight. To recalibrate, place the drone on a flat surface. Hold the two joysticks down and in as depicted in the figure. The lights on the remote will stop blinking, recalibration is complete and the quad should be balanced. When One-Key Return, no matter what direction the quadcopter faces, the pilot will simply have to pull the Directional Joystick back and the quadcopter will fly back to the remote. To enter One-Key Return, press the One-Key Remote button. The remote will beep and the lights on the quad will begin to flash. To exit One-Key Return, press the button again or press forward on the Directional Joystick. The remote will beep again and all lights will remain on and return to normal.
* When using the one key return function, be sure you are positioned in the original pairing position. The best way to determine this is by locating the FRONT of your drone. The front is the pairing point.
(Refer to drone diagram on page 4 for front). If you pair your drone while it is not in the front position, itis likely to fly in an undesired direction. if you encounter this problem it could be because you moved positions. Turn off your remoted and your drone and try pairing it again in the correct FRONT position. al oe)
* Your Quadrone can perform impressive flips and rolls in midair. In order to do this, press the flip button on your remote during flight. Move the directional joystick in any direction and the aircraft will perform a coinciding flip. HEADLESS MOD
* When in Headless Mode, no matter what direction the quadcopter faces, it will respond according to the direction pushed on the remote. (Forward on the remote will make the quadcopter fly forward, even if it is pointing in another direction.) To enter Headless Mode, land the Quadrone on a flat surface. Press the Headless Mode button. The remote will beep and the lights on the quad will begin to flash. To exit Headless Mode, simply press the button again. The remote will beep again and all lights will remain on and return to normal. When in Headless mode, be sure you are positioned in the original pairing position. The best way to determine this is by locating the FRONT of your drone. The front is the pairing point. It could be because you moved positions. Turn off your remoted and your drone and try pairing it again in the correct FRONT position. SPEED SELECTION
* Your Quadrone can fly at three speeds. To select a speed, simply switch the Speed Selection button on your remote. Low Speed - One Beep Medium Speed - Two Beeps High Speed - Three Beeps CHANGING THE BLADES If a blade breaks or falls off your Quadrone during a crash, it will be up to you to repair it. Use the screwdriver included in the package to remove the screw, detaching the Propeller from the Drone. Rotate counter-clockwise to loosen. Remove the damaged blade from the motor. You can now attach a new blade. It is important for the correct blade to be put on the correct motor or the drone will not fly correctly. A letter is marked on each blade to indicate which motor it should go on. See diagram below:
Once you have mounted the new blade, you can refasten it with the screw. Rotate clockwise to tighten.
