Reduced map mode The displayed information on the map is reduced to the most necessary information. With active 22 route guidance, only information that is relevant for the current route will be displayed, for exam ple, traffic information. The display of traffic flow and traffic events is limited to the current route. The green traffic flow for unrestricted driving is not displayed. In this map mode, the manual zoom is available. Adaptive map mode The displayed information on the map is adjus ted to the drivers handling and routines. Informa tion on repeatedly driven routes or favourite points of interest can thereby also be displayed without active route guidance. Real Time Traffic Information RTTI Principle Real Time Traffic Information RTTI provides in formation about the location of traffic obstruc tions. The traffic situation off the motorways, for example on side streets and urban roads, is also extensively recorded and shown. General Depending on the equipment, in some countries RTTI is transmitted via additional bookable serv ices. Recommended detours can be calculated on the basis of the RTTI information. This reduces the risk of encountering additional traffic obstruction on the diverted route. Several recommended di versions or further information may be provided. For particular hazards, for example objects on the road, a message is displayed. Some hazard messages are also displayed as a Check Control message in the instrument clus ter. 23 Seite 22 NAVIGATION Map Activating/deactivating traffic information 1. Explain if any third parties have the capability to operate a U.S.-sold device on any other regulatory domain, frequencies, or in any manner that may allow the device to operate in violation of the devices authorization if activated in the U.S. Device is master and Client. By configuration file (clm/blob) which is written during production and protected it is ensured that only allowed channels and modes are used. EndCustomer has no possibility to change that configuration file. Not possible for 3rd parties to load any software or drivers. Country settings can only be changed by Daimler and authorized service garages. System is bind to car and cannot be used outside its regulatory domain. Option is not provided for any third party usage. Third-Party Access Control 2. Describe, if the device permits third-party software or firmware installation, what mechanisms are provided by the manufacturer to permit integration of such functions while ensuring that the RF parameters of the device cannot be operated outside its authorization for operation in the U.S. In the description include what controls and/or agreements are in place with providers of third-party functionality to ensure the devices underlying RF parameters are unchanged and how the manufacturer verifies the functionality. Not possible for 3rd parties to load any software or drivers. HARMAN AUTOMOTIVE DIVISION HARMAN BECKER AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS GMBH ms HARMAN SAMSUNG COMPANY HEK@HARMAN.COM a=

3. For Certified Transmitter modular devices, describe how the module grantee ensures that host manufacturers fully comply with these software security requirements for U-NIl devices. If the module is controlled through driver software loaded in the host, describe how the drivers are controlled and managed such that the modular transmitter RF parameters are not modified outside the grant of authorization. The parameters are adjusted during manufacturing process and cannot be changed at later time. In case of any question please do not hesitate and contact us.
