This exterior label can use wording such as the following:
Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: XYZMODEL1 or Contains FCC ID:
XYZMODEL1. Any similar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The Grantee may either provide such a label, an example of which must be included in the application for equipment authorization, or, must provide adequate instructions along with the module which explain this requirement. In the latter case, a copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization.
(B) If the modular transmitter uses an electronic display of the FCC identification number, the information must be readily accessible and visible on the modular transmitter or on the device in which it is installed. If the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following:
Contains FCC certified transmitter module(s). Any similar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The user manual must include instructions on how to access the electronic display. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rules or operating requirements that ordinarily apply to a complete transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements in its final configuration. Y The proposed FCC ID label format is to be placed on the module. If FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed into the system, Contains FCC ID:
MCLJ27H020 shall be placed on the outside of final host system. Refer to Users Guide Exhibit Y Meet RF exposure compliance requirement Y A limited modular approval may be granted for single or split modular transmitters that do not comply with all of the above requirements, e.g., shielding, minimum signaling amplitude, buffered modulation/data inputs, or power supply regulation, if the manufacturer can demonstrate by alternative means in the application for equipment authorization that the modular transmitter meets all the applicable Part 15 requirements under the operating conditions in which the transmitter will be used. Limited modular approval also may be granted in those instances where compliance with RF exposure rules is demonstrated only for particular product configurations. The applicant for certification must state how control of the end product into which the module will be installed will be maintained such that full compliance of the end product is always ensured.

REPORT NO: 10J13094-1A FCC ID: MCLJ27H020 5.5. WORST-CASE CONFIGURATION AND MODE DATE: MARCH 22, 2010 IC: 2878D-J27H020 The worst-case data rate for each mode is determined to be as follows, based on preliminary tests of the chipset utilized in this radio. All final tests in the 802.11 mode were made at 2 Mb/s. All final tests in the 802.11b mode were made at 1 Mb/s. All final tests in the 802.11g mode were made at 6 Mb/s. For 802.11 Mode: EUT is stand alone host, no laptop connection. For 802.11b & g Modes: The EUT host is connected to a host laptop computer via USB adapter board for configuration setup and the laptop can be removed during the test. The worst-position was the EUT host with highest emissions. To determine the worst-case, the EUT host was investigated for X, Y positions for both TWL-001 & UTL-001 hosts; the worst-
position was turned out to be at X position. For Radiated Emissions below 1 GHz:
The battery and the Mitsumi / Tabuchi AC/DC adapters were using to conduct the test with different types of antennas (Tyco & Foxconn) of TWL-001 host and Foxconn antenna of UTL-
001 host. For AC Line Conducted:
The Mitsumi and Tabuchi AC/DC adapters were using to conduct the test with different types of antennas (Tyco & Foxconn) of TWL-001 host and Foxconn antenna of UTL-001 host. The EUT is configured in accordance with ANSI C63.4. The EUT is set to transmit in a continuous mode. For measurements below 1 GHz the resolution bandwidth is set to 100 kHz for peak detection measurements or 120 kHz for quasi-peak detection measurements. Peak detection is used unless otherwise noted as quasi-peak. For measurements above 1 GHz the resolution bandwidth is set to 1 MHz, and then the video bandwidth is set to 1 MHz for peak measurements and 10 Hz for average measurements. The spectrum from 30 MHz to 26 GHz is investigated with the transmitter set to the lowest, middle, and highest channels in the 2.4 GHz band. The frequency range of interest is monitored at a fixed antenna height and EUT azimuth. The EUT is rotated through 360 degrees to maximize emissions received. The antenna is scanned from 1 to 4 meters above the ground plane to further maximize the emission. Measurements are made with the antenna polarized in both the vertical and the horizontal positions. S = EIRP / (4 * Pi * D^2) Where S = Power density in W/m^2 EIRP = Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power in W D = Separation distance in m Power density in units of W/m^2 is converted to units of mWc/m^2 by dividing by 10. Distance is given by:
D = SQRT (EIRP / (4 * Pi * S)) Where D = Separation distance in m EIRP = Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power in W S = Power density in W/m^2 For multiple collocated transmitters operating simultaneously in frequency bands where the limit is identical, the total power density is calculated using the total EIRP obtained by summing the Power * Gain product (in linear units) of each transmitter. Total EIRP = (P1 * G1) + (P2 * G2) + ... + (Pn * Pn) where Px = Power of transmitter x Gx = Numeric gain of antenna x In the table(s) below, Power and Gain are entered in units of dBm and dBi respectively and conversions to linear forms are used for the calculations.
